I had stayed here several times some years ago. Despite some recent poor reviews, the first floor room that I had was clean. The decoration had some minor marks of age, but not significant. There was a strong smell of tobacco in the room on entry, but opening the window soon cleared it. Generally it was as comfortable as before, and for the price and location near the railway station, it was enormously good value. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, since a very short walk past the Mairie there is an outstandingly good boulangerie, open early, and with coffee.

The neighbourhood is run down and scruffy, pavements are cracked and neglected, despite its central location. The Hotel consists of several blocks of low rise buildings. The building adjacent the entrance gives a poor impression on approach, needing maintenance of peeling windows and lacking paint. The stairway and lobby are tiled with marked and scruffy carpet tiles, giving a poor impression on entering and going upstairs. The owners should swap these carpet tiles for others in better condition.

This place definitely exceeded my expectations considering some of the reviews. Staff were very kind, room wasn't cramped at all I had my bike with me and it fit no problem! As a solo female traveller as well, I felt safe in the hotel and in the area at night. It's located near lots of shops and restaurants as well. For just a quick stop before the ferry it was exactly what I needed as just a place to sleep.

Location great. Directly across from Calais Ville train station. Easy walk to park, shops & restaurants. Friendy staff.

They said check-in is 5pm. What they didn’t say is reception is closed from noon-5, then again at 9pm. Lobby area smells of mold. Really bad cracks in the stucco on the back building. Looks structurally unsound. Breakfast was a disappointment. No hot food. Coffee, tea, yogurt, ham & cheese, some bread, no butter. I think toast was the only hot food. Building is old and needs some repair. Some has been done (bathroom) but you can tell some if the work is sub-par.

Checking in was from 5 pm, but we came earlier and asked if we could check in earlier, and they let us check in at 12 pm. After 12 hours of driving, that was relief.  Close to the centre, parks, shops, and restaurants own a car park with cameras and a gate lock at night. Beds were very comfortable.  Pet-friendly hotel.

The window was leaky wind getting in to the room. When run cold water there was leak on the floor and I had to use towel to dry the floor. Bit outdated but nice.

I travelled with my family and we had a very good stay. We arrived at 2 at night and had trouble using a code to access the car park. When we used a buzzer the operator woke a receptionist who came to help us. He was very helpful and welcoming when he was assisting us despite the fact he had probably been woken up. The reception closes at 9pm. In the morning the same person, Omar served breakfast. It was ok for the price and the service was amazing. Omar is a real asset. Our stay was really pleasant mainly due to the excellent service we received. The rooms are ok, clean but dated. There was soap, shampoo, heating, towels, hot water. TV had no signal. The room was very quiet. Just as requested.

Everything was fine. Especially for the price.

The location is excellent, right opposite the Calais Ville railway station. The breakfast was good value for money. The room was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and the TV was working. I arrived at a time when reception was closed but there was good communication so I knew how to recover my room key and access the hotel.

The building is old-fashioned and the decor could do with an update.

Bang on where you want to be, train station and bus stop literally across the road, shops within 2 minutes of walking and 15 minute walk to the beach. Very good location.

Long story short, you get what you pay for. It’s cheap despite the location for a reason. I didn’t mind until it came to the cleanliness. There were hairs on the bed and the covers they put on top of the bed had stains on them! 0.0

It was great for what it is! If you're crossing the English channel it is a perfect stop over. The room was clean, decent size, the beds were comfortable and the location was great. We arrived later at night and we were able to take our keys via the machine which made the process very easy. The staff was friendly too.

Very basic, better sound isolation.

Breakfast is excellent value served in a lovely setting with a good choice of freshly prepared food and drink. The staff are always friendly and helpful and it is a pleasure to return to this secure site in Calais just a short walk from the town.

The shower curtain does not always stop the water from spilling out into the bathroom.

The hotel is near the beautiful town hall ( and a magical garden outside it). It is a short walk from the station, the bus station, and the beach with a fiery dragon on it. It is also a short walk from good places to eat and a lovely park. The breakfast was good.
