Outdoor spaces: we appreciated the private balcony and certainly, if were not the heavy rain during our stay, we would have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful garden and picnic areas. ​ Proximity to attractions: The location is ideal for exploring the region, with Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park just a short drive away. ​ Exceptional hospitality: Host Jane is friendly and helpful, providing guests with a warm welcome and valuable local insights.

Creaky floor: a small but noticeable detail—the floors in the chalet creak quite a bit when walking around, especially at night. Lack of space in the bathroom for personal items, suggesting the addition of shelves or a small rolling bathroom cart. Mosquitoes: as expected in a lush, rural environment, there were a few mosquitoes around. No Dishwasher: while the kitchenette is well stocked, the lack of a dishwasher stands out. We knew beforehand, not a major issue, but definitely an opportunity for improvement. Rural location requires a car: the peaceful setting means it’s a bit out of town, so having your own car is essential for access to shops, restaurants, and activities.

I booked this chalet for my parents during our South Island road trip and it was absolutely perfect. Wonderful, peaceful space nestled amongst beautiful flora. Perfect deck for a morning cup of tea and an evening glass of wine watching the sunset. The hosts Jane, John and Izzy (the dog) are so welcoming and friendly and have created a cosy haven in the hills. My parents didn’t want to leave and it was definitely their favourite spot.

This is the second holiday I have stayed there, this time for 11 nights. One of three immaculate cabins with car parking and a deck overlooking green hills. Chalets are mid way between Motueka and the Abel Tasman so convenient for both although you need a car. Very restful and relaxing place with friendly owners. Because its in the countryside it's very quiet and hence excellent sleep quality.

Perfect, quiet location between Motueka and Kaiteriteri. The surroundings were absolutely gorgeous, the grounds were impeccable, and the room itself is a self-contained studio with a kitchenette and sitting area. As great as the location and room were, the hosts, Jane and John, were the best hosts in all of our stays in NZ. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and make the most out of our trip to that area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all adult travelers. And what an incredible value as well!

The chalet was perfect for us. It had all the facilities we could wish for and was warm and comfortable. Jane and John were fantastic hosts. They allowed us to use their 'greenhouse' to dry our laundry. The location is quiet rural, but attractions such as Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park walks are only a short drive away. We are already planning to return.

We liked everything about this property! We were given a very warm welcome by Jane the host and shown to our beautiful cabin/lodge. It was such a relaxing stay in this idyllic, very quiet setting(just outside of Motueka in an area called Riwaka). It was a perfect place for a rest after travelling for 2 weeks around the island - we only wish we could have stayed longer but they were fully booked and we know why! The place was spotless and very tastefully decorated. The bed was so comfortable and all the facilities were great. We managed to catch up with our washing with the use of their washing powder and machine. You could even help yourself to their ripe fruit if the trees!

Extremely well equipped, comfortable cabin in beautiful surroundings. Jane and John were very friendly and welcoming. They've thought of everything guests might possibly want for a lovely stay. Everything was super clean and top quality. Lots of helpful recommendations and information. Our hosts were a pleasure to talk with.

Nothing, it was all wonderful.

The chalet was very clean and quiet, away from the road. The basic kitchen was good for a couple of home cooked meals and the bed was comfortable. We used the bbq one night and it was great. The hosts, Jane and John were super friendly and welcoming and had some good suggestions for things to do around the area. We also did a couple of loads of laundry.

Just minutes from town Motueka & Abel Tasman National Park, our chalet was the perfect retreat for our 2-night stay. Immaculate, tastefully and thoughtfully appointed throughout; pre-dawn birdsong both mornings. Our hostess Jane was welcoming, accommodating, so ready to answer questions & point guests in the right direction. Highly recommend. 👍👍

Terraced Chalets was the perfect place for us to base ourselves to see this area. The chalet is comfortable and very clean. We like to cook, so we made all our meals. The facilities allowed this to work perfectly. The porch was the perfect place to eat and enjoy the view. It was the hosts who made our stay extra special. Jane was there to check us in and make sure we had everything we needed.
