The homestead is very elegant and the owner greeted us warmly with afternoon tea on the verandah and chatted with us, giving us lots of local information and suggestions for things to see in the district. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The bathroom, although not ensuite, was excellent, The nice light continental breakfast was served in the pleasant dining room.

The location of the property was much further from the town than indicated on the website. Although there was a tv in the bedroom, there was nowhere to sit except on the beds.

It was our 1st B&B stay and it was a lovely experience. Beautiful home and gardens. Everything was soo clean and bed was very comfortable. Thank you Ellie. You were very welcoming and gave us a delicious breakfast which was so appreciated.

The only thing that we found difficult was there not being any restaurants, take away etc to go to nearby to have something for dinner. Being a Monday nite everyone was closed. Unfortunately the pub, which we know is pretty good were also having a nite off. But we did survive 🤣😂❤

The location is quite a long way from the nearest settlement but it suited us fine as an overnight stop when travelling between the Bay of Islands and the Coromondel Peninsula. Ellie made us feel very welcome and she gave us some very good tips on what to see and do on the Coromandel.

The nearest restaurant was about 14 km away in Kaiaua so it was quite a long drive to get dinner after we'd arrived at Miranda Homestead. We would have stopped en route if we had known. On the plus side, the food in the Bay View hotel restaurant was pretty good. Might be worth adding a note to that effect to the property information.

It provided everything we could wish for. A comfortable bed and spacious room. We appreciated being able to open the window without fear of being bitten due to the screen. Breakfast was ample and the fresh fruit salad delicious! The host was charming and most informative.

The bathroom was not en suite but just a couple of doors down the corridor. Helpfully there was an effective night light! It was for our sole use and well appointed.

Comfortable rooms. Lovely bed linen. Water bottle and little treats in room, very nice. Bathroom fresh and clean. Toiletries provided. Parking easy. Water Hose available to clean our very dusty car, bit of a bonus. Breakfast, fresh fruit, cereal and fresh toast. Delicious

Not the fault of our host, we didn't research enough. Very few places to have dinner on a Monday night. I would suggest Monday guests have a meal before arrival

The location was perfect for our purposes (an appointment in the Maramarua Forest). It would also be excellent for those interested in the birds at the Pukorokoro Bird Centre just down the road and for those looking for a comfortable stay in a rural setting. Being remote, it is a quiet location. Our host was lovely. She couldn't have been friendlier and provided a hearty breakfast. She also provided us with binoculars for our visit to the bird centre.

The internet speed was pretty slow, but adequate for emails.

Lovely host, good conversation with a wealth of local knowledge. The house was well kept, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was continental in style.

Whilst set back from the road, the car noise did detract for me, due to the speed the vehicles are travelling. Unfortunately, other than double glazing, there's not much that can be done about it.

We had a wonderful time at Miranda Homestead. It is a charming and well-kept farmhouse beautifully located in green nature next to the sea. Elly is a great host. She gave us helpful tips for our journey through New Zealand and interesting insights about the country. The breakfast with fresh fruit salad, plums from the garden and Manuka honey was exceptional.

Lovely comfortable house, loved all the artwork. Ellie was a wonderful and welcoming host. Beds very comfortable, especially the pillows.

Given we didn’t stop to read reviews on bathroom being down the hall we’re glad we didn’t see that and let it put us off otherwise we would have missed out on a delightful experience.

Ellie's service and hospitality were amazing, especially enabling our late arrival, complete with a fresh pot of hot tea and biscuits. This was our first experience of NZ hospitality and we could not have asked for better. Ellie's local knowledge and tourist suggestions were well appreciated. Thank you for wonderful stay.
