What a find!! If you are looking for a lovely place to stay, and they have availability, then just book the Brookby Motel, you will not be disappointed. The chalets are superb! They are clean, roomy, warm, well equipped with quality products and utensils, and extremely comfortable. My wife thought the fluffy towels were just gorgeous. The rooms are fully equipped with all the things you could possibly require on a trip away. The balcony is a little sun trap, too, and hearing the stream trickling in the background relaxes your instantly. My husband suffers from a bad back, and their bed was the most comfortable he (we) have ever slept on whilst away from home! Yvonne and Keith, the proprietors are warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. In our view, this is a fantastic motel and the best we have stayed at in many a year. Real value for money in comparison to the other hotels we have stayed at during our stay in NZ

That we did not have the time to stay longer!

We stayed at the Brookby Motel on our way to Whitianga from Russell. We loved it! Our one bedroom apt (room #5) was so cozy and comfortable. As soon as we walked through the front door, we felt right at home. The kitchen was very well-stocked. It had everything we needed to cook a simple dinner in the evening and breakfast the next morning. We loved sitting on the back patio listening to the brook running behind the motel. The owners were courteous, friendly and helpful.

The lady that greeted me was so lovely, warm and welcoming. They had put the heaters on in my room so I walked into a nice cosy space. It was clean, and not just surface level clean, but actually really wonderfully clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was explained well to me. It was a really wonderful experience. I travel a lot and this was one of the most pleasant experiences.

The place was spotless, it was warm and everything was explained to us, all the room amenities were of very good quality, its location was within easy walking distance to town. The information book in the room was unbelievable, it was fill of info about places to visit in the area, all the cafes and eateries with open and closing times, and then all the info about Thames and its history, very informative.

Marvellous ! Lovely friendly, informative welcome from Yvonne. Beautifully appointed 1 bedroom apartment ; furnishings and decorations. Freshly painted, very clean. Fully equipped bathroom and kitchen incl fridge/freezer. Perfect for self caterer. Great bed, lovely small outdoor balcony. Outdoor washing line. Good choice of TV channels. Reliable wifi. Very highly recommended !

A lovely small establishment alongside a babbling brook, in which our hosts have ensured one with a home, away from home. The units are fully self-contained and furnished to enable one to cater independently and relax in a lovely setting.

There were no impediments, this was one of our unexpected highlight stays whilst touring the North Island.

Quiet neighborhood and only five single-level units so not a busy property. Easy walk to main street shopping (4 Square market and cafes). You could even walk to Pak N Save depending on how much you are willing to carry back. Cooking facilities were sufficient (which is good because dining options in Thames are limited). Wifi was fast, bed was comfortable. Each unit has a tiny back deck with furniture; lovely sound of the brook flowing past. I don’t know about laundry facilities but there was a drying line.

Cozy/Small units might not suit some. We were here three nights and didn’t mind. Parking area is also small.

The motel is beside a beautiful stream with lush garden surrounds and is managed by a lovely couple. The interior is well appointed and cosy and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable, and every home comfort was thought of. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Brookby Motel

I love how comfortable the stay was. Tucked away but not too far to travel to the main strip. Loved having a parking right outside and the sound of the water at the back of the property was serene. It feels like a home away from home!

The extremely warm welcome with great tips on what to see and do in both Thames and the Coromandel Peninsula. A real home to home feel in the one bedroom unit, with great thought put into the detail. Impeccably clean, very comfortable and well-equipped.
