It was in a perfect location for us. In a quiet location yet only 10 minutes from Hokitika. It was close to the Hokitika Gorge and Lake Kaniere. The restaurant/bar on the property had amazing food and drink at very reasonable prices with excellent service. The accommodation was well thought out with an eye for detail. The grounds were very immaculate with the pond and good size waterwheel a soothing touch. My wife had an accident while we were staying at the Inn, breaking her ankle and little toe on the other foot. Glenda the owner/ manager did everything possible to assist my wife until the ambulance arrived. We both thought this assistance was well and truly above the call of duty.

Rural aspect. View to West. Park at door to unit. Excellent bath towels. Well maintained .Friendly staff. Used lovely spa bath.

No towel hook beside bath or shower. No dispensers for soap & shampoo in shower . This I prefer to bar of soap provided. Small kitchen area but we managed. Heavy timber tables I did not like as difficult to move to ranchslider for western view whilst eating. No choices for pillow or bed cover. I looked for a lightweight bed cover. Only warn duvets provided and its summer. Makes no sense. Good lightproof drapes over ranchsliders but this was negated by morning light entering room fron east facing entry door. This door needs a light proof blind to draw down. Coffee plunger has lost its outer casing. Needs replacing. At least it was a good size.

Clean, warm and comfortable. It had really nice sheets and covers. Shower was great to use. Parking at the doorstep was a big plus. And of course we really appreciated the washing machine and dryer (at $4 for use of each at the time we went). The lady taking care of things was really helpful, and went the extra mile to make things easier for us. Location was fairly good. We had a car so we didn’t feel like we missed out on much. In fact, it turned out even better, quieter and peaceful stay for us.

Location and views are amazing. Restaurant was outstanding. Staff/Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful. Accommodations and food are both an excellent value.

Ordered the continental breakfast for the first morning, excellent value and very good breakfast, at the restaurant the night before but with the restaurant closed the second night could not determine how to order breakfast again. Better instructions on ordering when the restaurant is closed would have been helpful.

Was a lovely room with great views and amenities, short drive from Hokitika town but made for such lovely stars and can still hear the ocean!!! Great parking, comfy bed and pillows. Good amount of all your basic, coffee, tea and sugar and they even gave us some cookie time cookies!! Had a nice little porch area that looks over the land towards the ocean. Easy check in and check out.

The only complaint would be barely any hot water (unsure if just an accident or something wrong) my friend had a quick shower and then I had one about 10 minutes later and it went cold after a minute. Apart from that everything was exceptional.

The shower boasted excellent pressure! While it might not be considered boutique accommodation, it was cozy and tidy. Nestled in a peaceful spot, it offered a lovely view of the horizon, perfect for catching those famous Hokatika sunsets.

The WiFi was okay, but we found ourselves relying on our mobile data plan to stream Netflix. Also, the booking information displayed on the reception door wasn't private; names were visible since there wasn't a permanent person at the reception. As for the restaurant, there was some confusion about its operating hours, which could have been clearer, especially if there were staffing issues.

Nice clean property, spacious room, quiet location.

Despite sign restricting laundry hours to 9 pm another guest thought it ok to use dryer all night. Whilst this is not managers fault it really was unnecessary to have us in room 3 next to laundry. Don’t get room 3! Wasn’t allowed to use ev charger, they had a bmw charger and a power point, all I needed was the power point. No point in having an ev charger if they can’t be used!

Absolutely loved the landscaping and idyllic settings with the added benefit of some farm animals! The rooms were great, the most comfiest bed Iv stayed in and great amenities in the room - everything you need. Location is lovely and a very short drive into town - a few minutes! But nice to be up in the hills and have amazing views of Hokitika.

Unfortunately when we stayed the restaurant/bar wasn’t open due to no staff, understand it’s difficult to get staff! Hopefully next time we come back it will be open as have heard great things about the food here!

This was a beautiful place to stay, The room was beautiful and clean with great facilities. the little outside area overlooked a serene rural setting complete with cows and a waterwheel. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, cooked I am told by the Daughter of the owners, the owners and our waitress were so friendly and helpful. Excellent location just outside of town and on the hill overlooking the town and ocean. Relaxing and beautiful

The host was super lovely, and very accommodating with check-in time. Lovely location too, and would love to stay here again!

The unit front door had privacy glass only (no curtains), which meant we could see when someone walked past outside - made us a bit anxious that people could see into the unit.
