Near the beach, easy five minute walk to the Glow Worm Dell on Hwy 6. A 15 minute walk to the town center and main tourist shopping area/beach. The owner is very gracious and accommodating to all my requests for advice on sights to see and places to eat... easy to find and each room has a designated parking spot

Clearly the property is a bit long in the tooth. the value for the money is good though. If you're on a tight budget, this is a good choice. The room itself was as clean as you can make the older facility. The ocean & humidity at the shore creates a sharp, tangy smell synonymous with the coastal experience. You'll probably get that smell at any of the shore-side accommodations in Hokatika...

So close to beach and glow worms and away from.state highway, plenty of room, and good hot showers and appreciate having the extra soap and toilet paper etc there . Very helpful host telling you points of interest when you arrive and showing you on the map

Beds were on the too hard side, more cutlery would be helpful (only 1 teaspoon)

Brilliant location perfect for the glow worm. The swimming pool was very clean.

Perfect stay for the budget but would be really cool if the garden was a bit more maintained. And the rooms could do with a little bit of modernising. It wouldn’t take much. A bit of modern painting style and the pool area could be really beautiful with paint and landscaping.

Quiet location with the gentle roar of the sea the only major background noise. Excellent supermarket nearby made food buying so easy. Bed was very comfortable. Staff offered us daily clean sheets and provided extra kitchen knife when requested.

Kitchen cooking facilities were very limited - we didn't use the hotplates as they looked rusty. The label on the bathroom sick tap was the wrong way round, so hot produced cold water and vice versa.

We stayed in a unit which was large with seperate bedrooms (2), bathroom & kitchen. Very roomy, comfortable & clean. We liked everything about this place including the balcony. Very handy to the beach & close enough to town. Really had a pleasant stay here.

Cold - there was an electric heater but plug got very hot. Also the power went off for 12 hours so unable to cook or put heater on. Think a complementary bottle milk would have been nice when we got there

Close to the town, beach and restaurants. Very quiet and lovely sounds of the sea from our unit. Unit serviced daily with rubbish emptied and fresh towels supplied.

Facility a little old but clean. Cockery, cutlery and electric jug need replacing.

The guy at reception gave exceptional customer service. Very helpful and friendly, giving us plenty of information about the town; places to eat, things to do, etc. The room was clean, simple and well fitted out with everything we needed. Bed was comfortable. A short walk to the beach and the Glow Worm Dell.

The property is on the northern outskirts of town, so a bit far to walk for dinner.

Nice place location was grate, and our host was amazing made sure we didn't want for anything, and also was awesome about us staying longer if we needed too because of our car problems. I would so recommended this place. Thanks for an awesome stay.❤️❤️

Nothing not to like.

We had the 2 bedroom apartment booked. We arrived and were greeted with such great hospitality from mr wu. It was quiet, a short walk to the beach and glow worm spot. Everything you could want.
