Although it looks a bit shabby from the outside, the room itself is quite spacious and has a comfortable bed. About 100 meters further up on the road is a go-through to see glow worms (small sign on the right-hand side). Make sure to use mosquito repellent and come around sunset. When it gets dark you'll see more and more glow worms for free!

Mosquitos and sandflies! Why don't many motels have mosquito screens in front of the windows?!? You can't properly cool the room without inviting lots of bugs inside...

The warm welcome from the awesome chick with pink hair was very welcoming on check in. The hostess Leanne was very good upon answering our questions we had regarding the area. A very delicious meal from the kitchen staff. Rooms where very clean and tidy. Extra comfy bed we had a very good sleep after a 12hr drive.

Only a couple of things extractor fan was not working in bathroom and could have a rubbish bin in bathroom apart from that no complaints.

A perfect find short distance from the main town 10 minutes Great Stay with Local Charm. Had a fantastic stay at the Woodstock Hotel! The room was clean and comfy with beautiful views. The food was top-notch—especially the seafood platter—and the house-brewed beers were excellent. Loved the friendly vibe and live music night. Really was one of a highlights of our trip, just a super place.

Location was primo and staff were amazing . It was a lovely and modern unit that was very clean. There was plenty of space and the bathroom was huge. It's a bit out of the main town but that wasn't a problem for us. For the price it was great value and you couldn't fault it. Had a meal in the bar that was very good.

A little out of the main town. Overlooked the car park, that was a little busy earlier on but quite later.

Convenient to our travel route. Not far from Hokitika with view over river from Woodstock Hotel. The units are at rear of the hotel and but environment was quiet and we were not disturbed even though it was St Patrick’s Day. Hotel had decorated and meals were very good. Room was clean with ensuite and TV. Reasonably priced and met our needs. I would happily revisit.

We found our room at the Woodstock Hotel to be the best of our whole trip! It felt like the accommodation had been recently built as it was quite modern, the room was large, the bathroom was spacious and the bed and pillows were the best we'd found on the trip and perfect for us! We enjoyed being able to take our meals back to our room from the bar and chill out there. The location is a quick 5 min drive from downtown Hokitika and the view of the river is amazing! We preferred staying here to being in town anyday!

The hotel was easy to find and had great parking right outside the rooms. Our room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our short stay. The beds were comfortable and warm with extra bedding and blankets should you need them. As we arrived on a public holiday the pub wasn’t open when we first arrived to check in, but with a quick phone call Colin came straight out to greet us warmly and deliver the key!

Lovely quiet spot on the outskirts. Simple but clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need opposite a friendly pub with good food, a great range of craft beer and a lovely outlook over the river. What a great spot and don't miss the Hokitika Gorge walk - stunning!

Sand fly's! The bug spray provided in the room was very much appreciated :)

Large room with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster. Comfortable bed. Very big bathroom. All spotlessly clean. Loads of power sockets.

The noise insulation between rooms could be improved as we could hear the TV/bathroom fan in the other room. However guests didn't use these late so it wasn't a problem for us.
