Fantastic location, withing walking distance to the main street and local restaurants and the beach. Although a little dated, the motel was very clean, warm and tidy and was well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen was well set up. The staff came round daily to empty the rubbish bins, supply fresh towels and make the bed - this was lovely and, in my experience, not always provided these days in other motels and hotels! Car parking on site was convenient for loading and unloading.

The main double bed was a little hard. The unit is located on the main road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise right through the night. This is obviously not something the motel can control, but something to be aware of when booking. I used ear plugs and that worked well.

Location is good, it's on the corner of Highway 6, but at the time we stayed there was minimal road noise. A short walk from the town. Comfortable bed, however, personally, I would've preferred it to be firmer. Excellent shower and bathroom including toiletries. Good amount of power sockets

Room a little cramped, although it was a studio size Bed - as described above Towels - 1 bath towel per person and a really small hand towel is barely enough when showering and drying hair. More English Breakfast Tea bags

We had an easy check in. Our room was spacious and the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've had in a motel in New Zealand. The motel had a good vibe and it seemed that someone had taken a lot of care over the rooms as they were very very clean. Location is good as it's only a short walk to the centre of town and the beach. It is located on a main road but it didn't affect our sleep. We were very happy with our stay.

What a lovely place to stay. The location was perfect - could walk into town in a couple of minutes. The room was immaculate and so clean!!! I usually want to wash the crockery and glasses at a motel before i use them - but this is the first time i looked and the glasses were sparkling. No washing was required :-). Will definitely stay again the next time in Hokitika! Thanks so much

Had a courtesy call to check if we had made it safely through the passes which had been closed due to snow as we came through which I really appreciated. When we arrived, the lights and heaters were on in the room which was amazing because it was freezing and pouring with rain outside. Owner was lovely when we checked in. Rooms were immaculate and beds and pillows were so comfy. Fresh towels each day. Water pressure was fantastic. Absolutely loved staying here for 2 nights with our kids.Tv and SKY in both rooms and free WIFI meant our kids didnt want to leave.

There was nothing that we didnt like about Bella Vista.

Not normally the first thing to talk about but, the towels were fantastic and the dispensers for shower gel and shampoo were much more suitable than the normal little pots or wall dispensers!! The kitchen was well equipped again with things you don't normally think about like chopping boards, sharp knives etc. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Good location, a short walk into town. All in all an excellent experience.

I can't think of anything that could be improved.

Decent size room. Convenient to have the kitchenette. Comfy bed. Good location. Close to beach, restaurants, shops and grocery store. Despite being close to the road, it was very quiet.

It would have been nice to have a sink built into the kitchenette instead of having to wash dishes/glasses in the bathroom sink. People smoking at the picnic table below our room.

A lovely property in all respects - very clean and comfortable, excellent self-catering facilities, very clean and comfortable Queen bed, crisp sheets and comfy pillows, convenient parking on site, great location, and a very welcoming and helpful host who provided fresh milk on arrival. A great accommodation experience in Hokitika on our NZ trip.

There was nothing to fault - it is a very clean, comfortable and well-maintained property. 5star rating from us.

Fantastic location, easy walk into town and to the beach with plenty of parking spaces for guests vehicles. Everything you could want toiletry-wise and culinary utensils were supplied. Staff were all very friendly & helpful. Excellent value for money.

Sadly noisy “neighbours” in the room opposite us needed volume control when Shouting at their co-travellers across the car park early in the morning. Nothing the Motel could do about that.

Location was within walking distance to the beach and town centre area, but still quiet. Was easy to find. Excellent water pressure. We could have used another day in Hokitika there is lots to see and do.
