On arrival, and throughout the entire duration of our stay, staff were uttely brilliant. No request was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The use of spa facilities was excellent, and it was straightforward to book ourselves in for extra treatments. All of the food we had during our stay was sublime, and the set up of the breakfast buffet made the experience very enjoyable. Our meal in the main dining room, as well as the food and drinks we enjoyed in both the bar and the lounge, were fantastic. I cannot thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. I am extremely glad that I chose your hotel for our vacation as I propsed to my now-fiancee - you made our whole vacation special and memorable. Thank you so much!

The staff were fantastic, they couldn’t have gone above and beyond any more than they did! Not to mention the food was top notch!

We forgot to bring swimwear, not something I didn’t like however if they did sell swimwear for those they forgot it would be great.

Lovely breakfast and buffet was fabulous

Being unable to get into the restaurant in the first night, we then chose to eat in the lounge but were not able to eat at a table and chairs, very difficult to eat on our lap so we chose to eat out of the resort!

I don't often give 10/10 reviews, but I would struggle to mark down the value for money for our stay. Location - Excellent. Very close to Ambleside, Windermere, and Bowness, and Grasmere itself is worth a short visit. Hotel is right on the main road, but quiet, and with ample parking. Staff - All very friendly, at reception, breakfast, and in the spa facilities. Room - Very large. Loads of space for clothes. Safe included. HUGE BED! Bathroom was large again, and well equipped, with walk in shower and bath. Nice toiletries provided also. Food (Breakfast) - Excellent. I often find that relatively large hotels let themselves down with the cooled breakfast, but this was excellent - good quality food, and fresh. As expected continental breakfast, and nice cafetiere coffee brought fresh to the table. Nice views over the lake also. Spa - Good sauna, steam room, and thermal spa. Good, relaxed idea to provide bathrobes in the room, so that we could then return to the room to shower. We also had a 90 minute massage. Very nice, and got the full 90 minutes! Don't often say this, but would definitely return!

If I was really nit-picking, the car park could perhaps be better laid out. And perhaps spa guests could be reminded of the purpose of a "relaxation" room!

Every single member of staff was polite, friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Food came out quickly, plates taken away just as fast. Cocktails were well made, and reception staff were willing to go the extra mile to help out where possible. Spa facilities were really nice too. On entry to my room, there was a "30th birthday" balloon on the bed with some chocolates - amazing!

It would have been nice to see a bit more seating around the pool, as both times we went we only just managed to grab seats and they weren't the best, but they were still comfy. The pool was lovely and warm!

The hotel staff offer a very warm welcome and are attentive and obliging. We also enjoyed all the food we ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Spa facilities are good and the treatments excellent.

Reception area and public lounge areas are rather spartan and uncomfortably furnished. The A/C in the lounge seemed to be set to "cold" throughout our stay. Similarly, the rooms are a good size and the beds very comfortable but the room lacks a comfortable chair. All in all it feels like a corporate/business hotel which is not in keeping with the location and Spa and so on.

We chose this hotel as the location is perfect and it looked so lovely and including a spa made it even more appealing. We have 2 late teen children so the family suite was perfect for us with the separate bedroom. The walk into the village was not far at all and it was a lovely walk. We did the trail around Grasmere that then leads to Rydal cave and the lake. This was a beautiful walk. The staff here cannot do enough for you. We felt very spoilt. The room included a coffee machine with 2 types of pods one of which was decaff which is perfect for us. The molton brown products were lovely. We had a lake view and could see mountains as well. The only downside was I found the emperor bed very uncomfortable. It was huge but very hard. This was only my opinion though. It would have been an added bonus if there were 2 bathrooms/en suite so we didn't have to keep waiting to use the bathroom. The spa is lovely, it smells gorgeous, the thermal pool is lovely. Yes it's small but it's relaxing. Some of us enjoyed the steam room and sauna too. The food was very good. Breakfast was fantastic. I particularly adored the granola. Looking at reviews I think the chef makes it. It was delicious. We had everything we could want. We could order from the kitchen, have continental, buffet. The pancakes from the kitchen were delicious and fresh. The evening meal was lovely. We dined twice in the evening. Staff very attentive. The squid was lovely and hot, fresh. The steak was great, caesar salad lovely, risotto and pasta dish delicious. The apple crumble sundae was so good!

Location .excellent views.Hotel quiet and comfortable. Food was fabulous

I paid for dinner bed and breakfast but was not informed thar there was a limit to what we could have on the menu. This made it impossible have a three course meal without paying alot more .If this is policy they should make it clear when you book

The hotel was very clean and luxurious, set in beautiful surroundings and exactly what we were looking for. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay and spa experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

It may sound trivial, but we paid for a room with a mountain/valley view, which we got, but we overlooked the busy car park which wasn't quite what we expected. The bed wasn't very comfortable either, though this is mainly down to me having had 2 back surgeries and I struggle to get comfortable. That said, my partner agreed that the matress could have done with being replaced as she also thought it was a little uncomfortable. This wasn't enough to change our thoughts on the hotel on a whole which is very good.

We really liked the settings and realising that it was walling distance to Grasmere. We went after half term so both the hotel and Grasmere were very quiet. The hotel is very comfortable and its spaces (like lounge or restaurants) are very clean and welcoming. MAY sound strange but it's corridors are large which is nice and makes the environment very open.

Basically nothing but if I could pick something, I have to say I found very strange that in our room (Senior suite) the lighting was not zoned into different spaces. For instance, an entrance area,, sleeping area, and living area. If you wanted the lights on it was everywhere. I think it would be better to have different zones so people can have the light only where they want. Anyway, nothing important. Everything was perfect.
