On arrival, and throughout the entire duration of our stay, staff were uttely brilliant. No request was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The use of spa facilities was excellent, and it was straightforward to book ourselves in for extra treatments. All of the food we had during our stay was sublime, and the set up of the breakfast buffet made the experience very enjoyable. Our meal in the main dining room, as well as the food and drinks we enjoyed in both the bar and the lounge, were fantastic. I cannot thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. I am extremely glad that I chose your hotel for our vacation as I propsed to my now-fiancee - you made our whole vacation special and memorable. Thank you so much!

The staff were fantastic, they couldn’t have gone above and beyond any more than they did! Not to mention the food was top notch!

We forgot to bring swimwear, not something I didn’t like however if they did sell swimwear for those they forgot it would be great.

The proximity to the lake and to the excellent bus service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved all the variety of pictures on the walls and those in the lounge. The staff were very willing to prepare my special meals ( puréed) to the point of acquiring an avocado for one meal. We also enjoyed the spa on the rainy day unfortunately the sauna was so hot it burned your feet so were unable to use it.

The only slight complaint was there was not a very varied meal choice for my husband- the same menu every night so a stay of longer than 5 days and you would be repeating food choice.

Lovely breakfast and buffet was fabulous

Being unable to get into the restaurant in the first night, we then chose to eat in the lounge but were not able to eat at a table and chairs, very difficult to eat on our lap so we chose to eat out of the resort!

I don't often give 10/10 reviews, but I would struggle to mark down the value for money for our stay. Location - Excellent. Very close to Ambleside, Windermere, and Bowness, and Grasmere itself is worth a short visit. Hotel is right on the main road, but quiet, and with ample parking. Staff - All very friendly, at reception, breakfast, and in the spa facilities. Room - Very large. Loads of space for clothes. Safe included. HUGE BED! Bathroom was large again, and well equipped, with walk in shower and bath. Nice toiletries provided also. Food (Breakfast) - Excellent. I often find that relatively large hotels let themselves down with the cooled breakfast, but this was excellent - good quality food, and fresh. As expected continental breakfast, and nice cafetiere coffee brought fresh to the table. Nice views over the lake also. Spa - Good sauna, steam room, and thermal spa. Good, relaxed idea to provide bathrobes in the room, so that we could then return to the room to shower. We also had a 90 minute massage. Very nice, and got the full 90 minutes! Don't often say this, but would definitely return!

If I was really nit-picking, the car park could perhaps be better laid out. And perhaps spa guests could be reminded of the purpose of a "relaxation" room!

Location to Grasmere. Close enough, The room allocated was v.good with aspect views. Facilities in room. Of high quality ( expected) evening meal and breakfast quality , also v.good, options covered any needs of individuals All staff that we had encountered , were very polite and helpful.

Room had no fridge capability ( had stayed. 3 days at similar quality hotel, prior to arrival - this made a difference) Thermal spa area , leisure beds , were not comfortable , as the mattress cover was sliding down , which was uncomfortable. The Outside patio area , was overrun with weeds , and visually poor for the quality hotel rating…

The views and surrounding area were stunning. It was nice to have the choice of where to have a drink or a meal during our stay.

There were no staff in the spa to ask where anything was or how anything worked so had to find things out for yourself. There was also no eucalyptus or menthol in the steam room which was a little disappointing. Also the staff weren’t very professional in the lounge by serving guests first who arrived much after we did therefore we had a long wait for food after drinks. The room was nice however, unfortunately on arrival the toilet had not been cleaned properly and the shower showed signs of limescale and dirt which was disappointing considering the cost to stay in the room with a valley view.

Loved the location. Came for the Fred Whitton Cycling challenge which started a couple of hundred meters down the road. Also perfect for seeing Dove Cottage (2 mins) and walks from the Daffodil around the Lake. Very comfy beds. Quiet at night. Mainly really friendly staff, especially Alex who went above and beyond for our dog (sausages just for her at breakfast!). The grounds were lovely. Didn’t experience the spa as we had the dog with us.

The only thing we’d change was that with a dog you have to eat in the lounge area. This is fine apart from that the tables are at coffee table height. So either you eat really bent over or you have to put your plates on a cushion on your lap like a TV dinner. Given you pay the same as eating in the restaurant this could be better. Just a few tables at a decent height would fix it.

I went with my best friend for a night away for some rest and relaxation. The staff were outstanding – warm, helpful and genuinely lovely throughout. From the reception team (special shoutout to Muhammad, who was twinkly-eyed and gracious) to the bar staff (including one man who’d only been there a week but was knowledgeable and kind), every interaction felt personal. The lady in the spa on Saturday was also incredibly helpful with product advice. The whole place felt friendly and affirming. The spa wasn’t overcrowded, even with a hen party there, and they were fully accommodating. The food was another highlight – breakfast was plentiful and top-quality, and our room service fish and chips in bed was absolutely perfect.

The television setup was a bit basic – no access to Netflix or Amazon Prime – so just be prepared to watch regular TV like in the old days.

Lovely room with lake view and seating area too.My husbands birthday treat was made special by the kind surprise gift and card and by the treat at dinner. Totally unexpected but really made our stay extra memorable thank you. I chose the smoked salmon at breakfast and was very happy with the quality and portion. Staff on reception were must engaging and attentive including the young Australian guy who was welcoming and informative.

Maybe pillows were a little worn. Bathroom lacked cotton wool or shower cap or body lotion. Dressing gowns were too small for husband but we didn’t leave the room in them so didn’t frighten the guests!!
