Room was smart, clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Our evening meal was very enjoyable and the menu was very appetising and provided well for dietary requirements (celiac). We had breakfast brought up to us, and this was not only delicious, but timely (asked for it at 08:00 and it arrived at 08:00 on the dot). The building and the grounds were very smart, elegant and comfortable.

Hot tub out of service, so we didn't use the spa facilities on this visit, probably would have done so if we were staying for longer. Room got rather hot, even with window open and fan provided on.

- large comfortable room beautifully decorated with good shower and private balcony, and aircon. - staff were good - generally a laid back/ faded glory feeling about the place that we liked - very decent gym by hotel standards

- restaurant is very low value for money and good dining options nearby are a bit hard to find and not walkable - for some reason they have made no effort to reduce noise from the external air con units, and most rooms seem to be in hearing distance of one. - probably only value for money if you get a decent discount

The staff here are such asset the older lady in the spa who doesn't look her age at all ,has 2 days off now , is amazing, the new trainee on front desk done amazing job ,being are anniversary and we regularly come here there made it so special and didn't have to do that ,just want to say thankyou so much and see you soon , Scott and Laura xx

Friendly helpful staff. Very large comfortable room with plenty of nice toiletries. Fridge and complimentary bottles of water. Good well stocked tea tray with tea, coffee , sugar, hot chocolate and biscuits, but didn't get any milk. Lovely spa area and pool. Very good breakfast.

The location of the hotel is in Shipton Mallet which as a town wasn't very inspiring although the fish and chips takeaway with the attached restaurant was excellent. The evening meals at the hotel were a bit expensive and hadn't got anything on the menu my partner liked but the location was ideal for visiting places like Glastonbury and Wells

The spa and Maddie was delightful as always (as this is our 3rd visit). We really like the fact it never feels overly crowded. However, the highlight of our stay was our amazing room- it was genuinely better than where we went for our honeymoon! It really was so special. Special shout out to Peter on reception! Breakfast was very lovely also. I know some people have complained about the dining wait time, but what do you expect when everything is cooked from scratch?

We are well travelled and honestly, we cannot recommend this place highly enough.

It's a charming Country House building, with contemporary interiors rather than stuffy traditional furnishings. It feels lived-in rather than boutique luxe which is perfect - it invites you to relax, dress informally and have fun. The staff are super-friendly and looked after us really well.

Very little - they nailed all the (to me) important things. Little cartons of UHT milk would have been handy for the in-room tea/coffee making facilities. Though reception cheerfully brought fresh milk to us when requested, they may have been less keen to do this at 6.30am.

Rooms were very comfortable ..loved the bath in both rooms and enjoyed the provided toiletries .. one of my favourite brands Bending the rules to allow the dog to join the family reunion was great and made the evening.

Although the staff were very helpful and available a lift for taking all the large luggage upstairs would have been welcomed.allowing the 5 year old to eat food quietly delivered with the grown ups in the dining room would have been appreciated.

The location was well situated between many major place like Bath and Bristol the hotel was really comfortable and clean our room was perfect our garden dor led us straight to the spa area it was secluded and quiet The breakfast was amazing a full English and thestaff were all very friendly and helpful We couldn't have asked for more

The WiFi was very poor in the area but that isn't anything they could help with

We have been before and there has been some lighter and more neutral redecoration, although I liked the old dark reds and Monty style particularly in the spa which now is much brighter, but the bar redo was really funky. The food was much better than last time we came and was excellent especially the dinner

We preferred our Adam and eve room we had last time as the room opposite is dark and near the road so a bit noisy.

I thought this venue was great value for money. The room was large and spacious and the price included breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, the rooms are rustic in fitting with the older building. But because it was so spacious it didn’t impact anything. The staff were all delightful the moment we arrived till we left. The booking in process and bringing us a pot of tea was a lush touch! We had a fabulous stay and would definitely return.
