Location in town is perfect . Interesting building , light and airy . The breakfast service was so good , despite being solo on both days the staff worked so hard .
It was very hot in the room above the courtyard - the window only opened slightly - a fan was on when we arrived so very effort had been made to make it as comfortable as possible - we had to sleep with the door open !! With the dogs bed in the doorway ! But it was unusually hot for the UK . Bar closed early ( on this and our previous stay ) so we were unable to get a drink when we returned from our evening ( did feel a little like one member of staff in particular just wanted to get away - I’m sure he did and I don’t blame him - but would be nice not to show it - but that is such a minor point and didn’t spoil our stay .

On arrival, the staff were amazing. Such a warm and friendly welcome, and the girls behind the bar even carried our suitcases to our room while my husband parked the car. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with loads of little extras and even a welcome letter from the household staff. I was given a flask of milk and told whatever we needed just to ask. The following morning, my husband had a shower, and the shower head wasn't working. We went for breakfast and the wonderful manageress couldn't have been more helpful. She said if no one could fix it that day, then we would be upgraded to a new room. True to her word, we were upgraded, and they couldn't have been more professional or hospitable about the issue. The breakfast was fantastic. We had the full English breakfast and all the produce was very good quality and a very generous portion. It is served with tea/coffee and juice, and my husband had refills of both at no extra charge. And always such pleasant staff. The pub it's self is wonderful. Lots of separate rooms off a central alleyway with settees and comfortable chairs and also a main bar and loads of outdoor seating. Something for all tastes and needs. We couldn't have had a better few days. This is a gem of accommodation.
The parking was off-site. It is low cost for a long stay. Just a couple of minutes away. But inconvenient.

The staff were amazing and very friendly. The building was perfect and the whole set up was excellent. We loved the place. The coach house feel and the courtyard make you feel like you are in the middle of know where with the benefit of being in town. Amazing place.
We did experience cold mash with a dinner one night and as lovely as the room was the noise from M&S at 5am in the morning made it hard to get a good nights sleep (we were staying at the rear of the building). Not the hotels fault by any means, but it was an issue and would make me think about staying again.

We love the quirky Archangel and this time stayed in one of the upper courtyard rooms. The room was spacious and had some of the great features which we often find lacking at other over night stays like coat hooks, a full length mirror, a shelf in the bathroom to put washbags on and fresh milk on request for tea/coffee to accompany the delicious cookies that are provided. We appreciated the variety of breakfast choices too !
Our stay was spoiled by the rude awakening at 6.30am by the clattering, rolling and sliding cacophony of sounds that came from the Iceland lorry delivering to the nearby store which lasted over an hour! Sadly there is probably nothing that can be done about this but would regrettably put us off a future stay in one of those rooms and hence the marking down on comfort and location!

"The room was spotless, and we really appreciated the complimentary water bottles and selection of tea. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the provided toiletries were a lovely touch. Since we stayed in February, the hotel was peaceful, and the room maintained a perfect temperature. Breakfast was amazing, with a fantastic variety of options, and the staff were absolutely wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and very informative. A truly enjoyable stay!"
The green emergency light was somewhat distracting while sleeping, but the hotel thoughtfully provided an eye mask and earplugs, which was a nice touch.

I really liked the location of this hotel, I also really liked the vibe too, the bar area was cool and everyone was relaxed but helpful. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was very good, the room was clean and tidy and suited our needs perfectly.
The lighting was a little too dim, and the only other negative that I had was that our room had a bathtub in the bedroom and a separate WC, but there was no private shower. It made it a little awkward to wash because I was sharing the room with my sister, so we sort of had to leave the room so the other could wash. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was a bit annoying. The bathtub was massive and really cool, but I couldn't just relax in it because my sister obviously needed to come back to the room. I wish I would have known in advance about this as it may have affected our room choice when looking for somewhere to stay. This was the only issue, though. Everything else was great. I'm sure it is perfectly fine for a couple sharing the room, just not ideal for siblings! :)

Enjoyable stay in this quirky hotel. Just one night as went to the Cheese and Grain for a gig. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Heaps of hot water and a shower that is excellent. Staff extremely helpful. Breakfast was good and evening meal exceptional. Unlike others' reviews, I didn't find my room noisy and in fact slept peacefully with an angel watching over me!
Very little. Others might not like the creaky floor boards but I found this all part of the quirkiness! The steps to the shower were a bit concerning for me as I am not too sure footed.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. 'Character' accommodation bang in the centre of Frome. I particularly enjoyed the pizza bar meal in the evening. Overall, the sink issue did not detract from an enjoyable experience.
Having to change rooms after I had unpacked my belongings (the sink in my original room allocation was blocked). To be fair, the staff soon sorted this for me ,although such an issue should have been attended to before the release of the room.

Character property in a great location in the centre of Frome. We loved the decor and furnishings which were in keeping with the style of the property and had everything we needed in the room for a comfortable stay and there were some nice touches like a cafetiere with sachets of freshly ground coffee and a flask, so that you could collect fresh milk from the bar. Everything was very eco friendly. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely dinner in the hotel bar. Very dog friendly too.
The only slight disappointment was breakfast. The produce and choice were great, but they didn't have 2 items available for the full English breakfast and I would have preferred my toast on the side with some butter as it was a bit dry! We also waited a long time for the food. However, that certainly wouldn't put me off going back!

This hotel is in a great location situated in the town and within walking distance to shops and bars etc, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was nice and the breakfast was very good, the courtyard garden bar is great and the is a very good selection of drinks including cocktails, the food is also very good
There are no complaints about this hotel, having stayed in a different butscombe b and b I would say the added extras ie complimentary drinks and mini bar there gave it an added touch although there were some of these included in this stay and this was also reflected in the very reasonable price
