Great location - we chose it as we were visiting Longleat Safari for the day & wanted to stay nearby. The Cornerhouse is 10 min drive from there. Has onsite free parking for guests, and family rooms. We travelled with our 3 children aged 13, 11 and 8 and struggle to find hotels that can accommodate us in one single room. Cornerhouse provides family rooms - we stayed in room 8. Was huge! A room with a double bed for us then a separate bigger room down a flight of 3 stairs that had another double bed and 2 single beds in for the kids. Room had all the facilities we needed - toiletries, hairdryer, tea/coffee, plenty of towels for the 5 of us. Room was super clean & comfortable and didn’t feel crowded at all. Staff were all super welcoming & friendly. Laid a table up for us for both dinner and breakfast without us having to ask. Food was lovely - small menu (essentially it’s a pie n mash place) but they do have kids options which they were more than happy to change chips for mash or chips for skin on chips. Breakfast was really good too - again they were happy to accommodate the kids and what they wanted. Would definitely stay again and recommend The Cornerhouse to anyone travelling with kids and wanting somewhere family friendly and near Longleat.

Nothing - comfortable stay, lovely staff!

My daughter and I have just had the pleasure to stay at The Cornerhouse in Frome which is under new management for the past month. Selvin was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay providing FREE chocolate and a lot of it in our room for my daughter xx We stayed in the apartment which was very spacious and met our every need. Full marks for the sofa which is extremely comfortable and contributed to a beautiful stay... Breakfast (full English) was served by the proprietors with a smile and an 'enjoy' with the coffee. Selvin was genuine, warm and even offered a sandwich for my daughter for breakfast (which was not on the menu). She remembered she liked hash browns and offered these too!!. I am missing the fact that her husband was very polite as well. Nothing was too much trouble for these wonderful hosts, it made our holiday. One final mention for the unsung hero, the chef who produced one of the greatest full English breakfast ever with sausages to die for. I will be coming back for a concert/gig in December, I know where I'll be staying. The Cornerhouse, great setting, parking and genuine people focus. STAY HERE X

Having to leave after our stay....

We loved how convenient the location was, the hotel was the perfect spot to get to and from to our next activities. We loved how quiet and cosy the hotel was and it had all the essentials you needed in one room. The cleanliness was brilliant and honestly didn’t expect to be walking in to such a beautiful room. The breakfast was excellent and had everything you needed to kick start your day. The staff went above and beyond and we felt very welcomed throughout it all! We truly felt at home here. We can’t wait to visit again and stay at your beautiful hotel! We can’t recommend it enough!

Nothing.

We had the self catering apartment (no standard rooms left), which obviously was more than adequate for 1 night. Although the present owners had only been there 2 weeks, all dealings with the staff were very efficient, professional and friendly. The apartment was comfortable and clean, if a little tired, with everything in working order., and came with toiletries, towels and tea/coffee, which i didnt expect as it is self catering The bar has plenty of variety, but no food is served. The breakfast was lovely. Once again I can say, all staff were pleasant and efficient. We arrived early, so got parking easy on the hotel carpark, as parking is at a premium around town. Good luck to the owners, I wish them well.

The only downside, is that the town centre is located in a dip and all roads out are uphill ! The hotel is atop a fairly steep hill approx 1/4 mile from the town centre, so being in our '60s it was a trudge after a night out of food and drink.

This place is excellent value for money. The pub is very clean and the rooms are spotless. Generously sized towels, toiletries, a hairdryer, and tea, coffee, and biscuits are in the room. There is a good choice for breakfast, soya or oat milk, vegan and gluten-free options available. The pub has live music so beware if you want an early night, the music does stop at 22-30. The bed was very comfortable. There is free onsite parking at the back of the hotel. The hotel is located on a busy corner at the top of town but I didn't hear any traffic noise overnight, even though the windows were open.

Not usually an issue in the UK, but the room would benefit from a fan.

In a central location for our needs. Our needs were met fully when asked for items that were missing from our room, ie clothes hangers. Towels were changed daily for us which was a pleasant touch. Breakfast was good for the choice that was offered and also being asked what time we would like. Staff were friendly and attentive. For the negatives listed we had a lovely stay which was made up for by the staff concerned. Lucy, Will, Joe and Graham.

The size of our room which was quite small. Photographs are a little misleading on the size, we thought we had paid for a bigger room Being told on arrival that they had stopped providing evening food a week before as they couldn’t compete with other establishments in the area. Also being told the property was up for sale gave a very negative first impression. Would’ve been nice for an email beforehand to advise of this, so we were aware we would have to walk to find something to eat every night.

I've stayed here 3 times, and it is good value. The beds are comfortable, there is tea, coffee, and a kettle in the room. There is free onsite parking but the car park is quite small with a limited turning circle. Breakfast was included in my room price and a full English was on offer. Non-dairy milk was available. The only downside is it's very noisy. When someone walks past your room, you hear them talking. When the people on the floor above pull the flush, turn on the tap, etc., you hear it as well but apart from that it's great value and close to the town centre.

Very good welcome and the member of staff also found a suitable phone charger and cable for me to borrow as I had left mine at work. Lovely breakfast and they even had green tea! Good vegetarian choices as all diets catered for. Staff very kind when I had a flat battery and offered for me to wait inside for the AA and continued to let me use the facilities.

Only a minor thing if I had to mention something. I would prefer a shower screen to a curtain, and I found the shower overall only just big enough for me and I'm not very big!

The hotel is in a good location to the centre of Frome , just a 5 minute walk , just be aware that it’s a reasonably steep hill to walk down and then back up again . Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent , from the minute I arrived, to the minute I left , nothing was to much trouble ! My bed was lovely and comfortable along with good pillows, and the bathroom had shampoo and body wash , which was great, because I’d forgotten to pack mine ! There were tea , coffee and biscuits in the room also , and the room was lovely and warm . There’s a good car park at the back of the hotel , where I felt my car was perfectly safe , just note , there’s an archway just to the side of the hotel where you go through to get to the car park .

My shower wouldn’t move to a different position , so consequently the water was shooting out over my head instead of over me , and ended up soaking the floor , however it was powerful and hot . The woodwork could do with a little touch up of paint in places , and I couldn’t get the WiFi password to work , but to be honest I’m just nit picking .

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and cozy, and one of the cleanest I've seen while traveling in the UK. They provided a small kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature perfect. I'm not sure if there were no guests or very civilized ones during the time of our stay, but I could not hear much noise. There was no road noise either. The English breakfast was one of the best I've had. The bar offers a good selection of drinks, I was really happy about that.

The bathroom sink was too small and a bit hard to use it without spilling droplets on the floor. It found it a bit pricey considering it's a small town, but I'd definitely choose this place again, with a discount.
