Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very tasty. Room was very clean and had everything you'd expect. Carparking was good Slept very well, room is above the pub so expect a little noise until closing time and then very quiet. Great building and a welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely pub and hotel but in need of interior decoration and maintenance. Grouting, wallpaper, paint. Just looks a little tired and there is little excuse for this not to be done it's not expensive. This shouldn't put you off from staying it was clean and the service was good. This could, with a little graft and not huge expense go from good to great pretty quickly.

lovely staff very helpfull. Breckfast was great as propper full english that kept me going all day. easy location to find and very peacefull. The bar was nice lots of caractor and football was avaible to watch.

personaly I felt that the whole pub needed some money spent on it to freshen up the decor and adress the realy creaky floor boards. the whole place was a bit shabby and run down, The place was very busy with guests and bar customers I feel Green King should invest a little back in to the place to keep it up to scrach.

Following a day out at Longleat only 15 drive from there. The woolpack was so lovely real village location, car park was full but had no problem parking on the road, lovely bar, restaurant, room was old feel very traditional and very comfy. We had others join us for dinner and the food was amazing, staff couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was spot on. Definitely would stay again

Maybe the rooms could do with little make over but was very clean and had everything you need for your stay

Beautiful little pub in a lovely location,ideal for visiting Longleat

Beds were very uncomfortable but the room was lovely, extremely hot though so could have done with an extra fan The shower was way too hot for my 7 year old to use I was worried it would burn her and no way to control the temperature on it ..I tried everything,but I love a hot shower so it was good for me!! The breakfast buffet looked lovely and we had it the first morning but I didn't like that the fresh fruit was displayed with no covers and there were flies on it so then the kids wouldn't eat it!! They could do with some of those mesh umbrella food covers which are easy to lift on and off.The 2nd morning we went out for bf as the kids refused to eat there. We had evening meals there and they were very nice .

as I have said for what we wanted for a quick overnight , excellent,, and value for money ,o k However, we need another night , and my god the price has doubled , you look , you consider , you return to the web and price has gone thru the roof , we used the woolpack because we stayed at greenkings in Devon , and thought it excellent ,!!!! Its now food for thought ,,,, but dont blame the staff, !!!

Room and bed v comfortable, with drawers and wardrobe so good clothes storage. Food was good standard pub food. Breakfast was good selection and happy to go off menu a little. Location great, just by bus stop to Bath (cheap and easier way to get into the city) and close to main routes to explore countryside. Staff were lovely, all very helpful and welcoming.

Breakfast was quite a wait (20+mins) on a day there were five tables to do at once, but they kept coffee coming and told us there would be a delay, so customer service good.

Fabulous food beautiful location 10 mins from longleat and 30 mins combs racing circuit. Staff were brilliant.

Not very clean hair on bathroom floor thick dust in whole room. Cleaner never hoovered the whole time we were there. We had 2 1yr old that had crispy stuff on floor 1st night still there when we left. Dirty glasses were never taken away on a morning. Parking was a nightmare

The relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. The high quality of the food. The comfortable room.

Breakfast start times on 2 days. On the Tuesday, the restaurant was a little late opening. Both the hostess & the chef were late. I was told that breakfast on Saturday started at 07.30, & another guest was told 07.00. The actual start time was 08.00. This is careless & shoddy. I was tied to working start times.

The warm welcome from staff, particularly Justine. The location is perfect for visits to Longleat, Bath and other surrounding attractions. Our rooms were perfect - cosy, clean, comfortable with lots of rustic charm. Beautiful pub too - old charm with modern touches. Food was great, good selection of drinks. Fantastic room rates with breakfast included! There was nothing to not like.

Breakfast was delicious both mornings. We had traditional English breakfast first day & bacon & eggs second. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Becky who I spoke to on the phone before we arrived. Our room at the top of the property was cosy & warm on a very chilly (-3 degrees!) weekend! Car park was small but street parking also available. Water piping hot for shower. Hand wash smelt nice too!

Creaky floorboards, to be expected for a period property, but we worried we might wake others at night. We loved the squeaks though! If you are a taller person beware of the beams especially in the shower in the top room bathroom.
