Lovely room with very low doors (people were smaller back in the day) and wonderful garden for glass of wine and a good book. We booked dinner - it was delicious - and the village of Lacock is a lovely spot. Great people to greet us and explain timing etc. We didn't stay for breakfast because it started at 8am and we needed to be on the road. Would stay again - and probably will ... 33 years ago we bought our wedding rings from Watlings, so the village has a place in our family history!

Would note that there is no parking so you have to find a spot on the street. We had no issues finding a spot, but need to organise to drop bags before parking. Wasn't really a negative, but one to be aware of when you book.

The location, the garden , the character of the building was truly beautiful. The guest lounge was a huge bonus And the food was exceptional, I had the lamb followed by the crumble. Can highly recommend.

The mattress was too soft for me as I have a bad back and woke up with back discomfort. This is a personal issue and I appreciate it would not be a problem for most people. Bath only in the room we stayed in with a hand held shower head attached to the bath taps, this is a consequence of the character of the room we stayed in due to low ceilings. Could be an issue for those wanting to use the shower head who are taller than 5ft 9inc.

The restaurant downstairs had excellent food. The venison haunch was so well made, I can safely say it was probably the best food I had in a long time. The hake was excellent too with great garnishes. The rooms were very cosy, comfortable and had a lot of charm. We spent a good night sleep at the place, and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Breakfast was very mediocre, the shakshuka was without any eggs, which may have been a misunderstanding of the vegan question on the menu, where we said NO (referring to NO vegan), but it resulted to be a very dry tomato, onion and garlic -- very confusing and disappointing. The porridge could have came with some honey to our taste. There wasn't much to do in the town on a Saturday evening besides the local pub and restaurant.

Staff were lovely, food was very good , hotel full of character and charm and excellent location in the middle of the village. We had to pay extra for breakfast but it was really tasty and the we enjoyed the dinner so much we ate in every night.

Only slight critism was the double bed was too short for my 6ft 2 husband as there is a wooden bar at the end, his feet normally dangle over the end. If it had been available we would have booked the king. Otherwise the bed was actually really comfortable.

Breakfast was a little expensive but very good and plentiful. Meals portions were generous and a good menu. Very dog friendly property, dog was able to access all areas. Wonderful historic property with lots of quirky features. Safe enclosed garden was a delightful in the good weather.

Not something the hotel could do much about but parking was a little challenging. We had to park on the street at a distance and ferry luggage in. And not really a dislike but there was no TV in the bedroom or in the communal lounge

Wonderful hosts and excellent food. The 15th century inn is full of character. Perfect way to experience being in stunning Lacock - I had a charming room with a comfortable bed and village garden views. Very quiet setting. Woke up to hear cockerels crowing! Beautiful, large sitting room just for staying guests with comfortable sofas, full of original period details with dark wood panelling and lovely windows and large fire. This room was very special and relaxing. Home-made cookies in the room was a lovely touch.

Due to the property being a 15th century inn the characterful bedroom doors didn’t fit snugly - however, to my surprise I didn’t get disturbed by others at all and had an excellent night’s sleep and better than in most modern hotels. Perhaps guests all took more care to be respectful to each other.

Lovely old inn right in the heart of the village. There is an extensive garden at the back for drinks and meals going right down to a stream at the bottom of the garden. The rooms were very quaint and well equipped, including an espresso machine and pods. Dinner in the evening was very good. Breakfast was fine.

There is no indoor bar to sit and have drinks, so in bad weather you would need to go into the restaurant. Luckily we had good weather so could sit outside. Lots of opportunities to bang your head if you are over 1.5 metres tall Breakfast has to be chosen from a menu the evening before, so you need to know what you will want in advance.

The place is amazing. The people working there are really lovely and helpful. We have 🐕 dog with us. I really appreciate how respectful those people are towards animals. We felt really welcomed there. We went to Lacock following Harry Potter's steps. I promise you. Once you are there, you will never forget that magical village. The food is amazing and right next to the hotel there is a bakery with fresh bread and cakes 😋 perfect place to run away from big cities.

Dinner was lovely and hit the spot after a long journey ahead of a family funeral the next day. Breakfast was superb - the best full English I have had for a long time - not enormous but beautifully presented and every element was tasty and well seasoned. The hotel is full of history and atmosphere and querky. If you're over 5'8" then you'll leave with a stoop having avoided all the low beams. People were a lot shorter 500 years ago!

Not a lot - the restaurant in the evening was incredibly hot but cooled off towards the end of the evening which was more comfortable. We'd like to return in happier circumstances and see more of the lovely village and sit in the garden. A great part of the world and a lovely stop over if you're visiting England or the area.

A wonderful period building with many quirks and features. A lovely beer garden with a tranquil stream at the end. And friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home.

The only criticism I have is that the vegetarian option on the menu was not good at all. It was also the only vegetarian option for a main. It’s a shame as the meat dish I had was so good, but the vegetarian burger my partner had was so bland. Please do more good food for veggies, as you do for meat eaters.
