Pretty pub and warm welcome. Our room was lovely, cosy with nice thoughtful touches. Comfy bed and nice linens (towels and sheets). Really liked the attention to details (beautiful shower & shampoo products, little radio, selections of tea and coffee in the room, also liked the artwork on the wall throughout the pub). Breakfast was great in the restaurant, well cooked and friendly service. Overall really happy with our stay and will be back.

The only criticism I would have if I had to pick any, was the traffic was quite noisy during the early hours and morning (but that’s because we had a room at the front of the pub and the pub is on the main road through Melksham), so might be good to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!

Comfortable room in Butcombe Brewery pub. The staff were very friendly and kind enough to retrieve an item I'd left behind in the wardrobe so that it could be retuned. Guests choose a breakfast from the menu and ours were delicious. The Kings Arms was well located for our visit to relatives and attractions, though the town of Melksham doesn't have much to offer compared with other pretty nearby villages and towns.

Access to our room (no.10, in the attic space) was via steep stairs. Not a problem for us but those who find stairs a little tricky may want choose an accessible room.

Nice characteristic rooms (2 rooms, 3 people), good cleanliness and especially that's a point which is very important to us (!), friendly staff, very dog-friendly (we had two young dogs), free parking and overall very uncomplicated and enjoyable. Breakfast was included and free to choose from the menu. Perfect stay if you intend to visit Lacock

No AC, windows can't be opened much for ventilation. Shakshuka for breakfast was extremely spicy, even though my son-in-law is South Asian he struggled eating it

Generally, very pleased with the premises itself. Beautiful old building kept in nice condition. Parking facilities were excellent. Staff were excellent - friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. Rooms were very pleasant, although a bit warm due to the weather (aircon would be nice, but I acknowledge the difficulty of adding it sympathetically to an older building such as this one). Decent breakfast, served promptly.

Mattress could have been a little more comfy, but was OK.

Just about everything. First impressions were good , from the outside it is a very nice looking & well presented hotel being a historic 18th century coaching inn. Inside it very clean and well maintained being a mixture of old and modern. The staff were all very friendly & highly professional. The room was well sized with a big bathroom comfortable bed & all toiletries provided & nice & quiet. In the evening we had a lovely meal in the nice restaurant & reasonably priced & in the morning we had a lovely breakfast. Overall very impressed with this hotel, one word Quality!

I suppose if being picky, no sugar provided for our teas/ coffees in our room, & perhaps a packet of biscuits would have been nice. Also view from our room was of a wall but hotel can't do much about that.

We are enjoyed stayed at The King Arms Hotel, all the staff are very friendly, especially the lady at the reception, she was very helpful, we have been given the room downstairs, ( which is really nice bedroom, bedroom no 15) because it is to hot at the room upstairs or second floor, unfortunately there were no fan in the room, as the weather was quite hot on that date, but we coping well. The hotel has it's own pub which serves nice meals.

Our room was great as we had a dog with us we had a courtyard room. The hotel offered food pretty much all day, the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Its on a high street so you do have access to local restaurants too. There Sunday roasts were delicious!

The only thing we found was they run out of items on the menu. They need make sure they have stock into cover the weekend. The hotel was not even that busy so they should not have run out. Also Smart TV’s upgrade would be great for people staying for a few nights. Noted the chain has them in their other hotels.

Staff were amazing, all very attentive, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely faultless on each of our 3 days, honestly among the best breakfasts I've had in almost 30 years bouncing around the world, spending lots of time in hotels for work and pleasure.

My wife and I both prefer a walk in shower as we are getting older and find some baths have deep sides and are hard to get in and out of, especially when there are no handles on the walls for support. But that's a personal preference not a criticism of the hotel

Location was perfect and easily accessible. It's in the town centre so accessing shops, bars, restaurants etc simple. Lovely building, with some rooms separate from the main property. Free parking at the rear was perfect but beware the entrance - it's tight! Lots of places to see locally. The nearby multi lock canal and National Trust offerings are worth a visit.

Limited evening menu and with steaks off the menu on the night we ate there, a little disappointing. The shower, in room 16, needed the attachment sorting as did the sink taps, that were loose. Fresh milk for the room was a lovely touch, however, a mini or miniscule fridge would be better than an insulated container.

The hotel is beautiful. It is very old but the decor and furnishings are gorgeous and although sympathetic to the age of the building, also bring a modern touch. There is plenty of parking and in a great location in the centre of Melksham. The hotel room had everything we needed and was again done in a gorgeous colour palette. There is no fridge but you are given a small thermos for milk which was a thoughtful touch along with luxury coffee, tea bags, bottled water and a cafetiere. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and there were good choices on the menu. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. This is more like a luxury hotel than a pub and we would definitely stay again.

Only downside was both the hot and cold taps was running hot water. It was good we had bottled water as you couldn't have gotten cold water otherwise.
