Grade II listed building that was originally a farmers family house. Great location. Very quite and relaxing. All staff were friendly and helpful. Can't comment on evening meals but breakfast was just what you needed after and early morning swim in the outdoor pool. We stayed in a 'snug' type room. Great nights sleep in a comfortable spacious bed. Room facilities were well equipped and for coffee lovers a Nespresso Professional Zenius coffee machine in the room. A location we will keep in mind for the future.

The room was as modern as you could expect in a listed building, Dinner was excellent Breakfast was good. The grounds offered enough paths to stretch your legs after dinner. The Bar served a good selection of drinks but was limited to bottled beer as draught beers were impractical due to the limitations of the buildings listed status. Overall would definately stay again in the future.

Dogs in the restaurant was an issue for my wife but i personally hardly noticed them

It’s a beautiful period house, where a lot of time, effort and money has gone into making it now a lovely country-house style hotel. The grounds and garden are very well kept, the pool area is very nice and the whole property is maintained to a good standard. We stayed in the ‘yew’ room which was a traditional classic room on the first floor in the main/original house.

You can’t fault the property or venue, and the staff were great. Like with anything, there are always ways to improve, if there was one note to management, I think the restaurant (which does an excellent cooked breakfast) is the area that could move the dial from good to great - dinner was a little disappointing, the menu offered less choice than what’s suggested online, the food quality was ‘OK’ and the price point was high (fish & chips for £32.50…)

Set in a lovely environment, surrounded by trees, the house offers all the amenities for a comfortable stay with a great swimming pool area and delicious food… (Our compliments to the chef!!! 😍)… Our room (Walnut) faces the countryside and the swimming pool. It has a good shower, nice bed, kettle and coffee machine.

The pillows were too soft for my test. Apart from that, everything was perfect!!! 🤩

We arrived and loved the grounds of the property. Although close to a busy road felt like we had our own little estate Quiet and comfortable. Dinner was exceptional, it is on the pricey side though you can tell with use top range quality of product. We look forward to coming again for more than 1 night and walk around the estate Short drive to Lacock

Sometimes it could be a little uncomfortably quiet in the bar area Odd cobweb here and there though it is an old house! Outdoor heated pool not as heated as expected though got used to it once swam around

The house was stunning, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The property had a peaceful atmosphere; it felt private, relaxed and personal. The house was clean, tastefully furnished and decorated. The room was clean, easily accessible and comfortable. The marble bathroom was a luxurious treat and my stay was finished off perfectly with a full English breakfast.

My only complaint was the bathroom door needed a little attention and required forceful manipulation to shut properly. This was a slight issue as the bathroom light and extractor fan stay on for sometime.

The best thing about this trip was the wonderful Beth who was so friendly, helpful and made our stay so special we actually can't wait to return! We also loved how really truly dog friendly this hotel is. There was a dog bed in the room a poo bag and a treat and a dog bowl. And the grounds and gardens great for walks. This is by far the most dog fiendly place we have stayed at but also very clean and not like some pet friendly hotels that can be a bit grubby. The food was delicious too. Highly recommended for a special occasion Or if you need a little break away from everything!

This is an exceptional venue for a special event get away, retreat or gathering. Easy to find from the road. The food was more than worthy of the awards. Disabled access for some bedrooms and dog friendly. I'm sure cold weather would see it with cosy fires. We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed the outdoor pool.

Honestly? The young girls in matching work uniform was nice but I felt that the short skirts and bare legs let the venue style down. Nylons would have been acceptable. Hem lines a little lower, please! Obviously this didn't alter the quality of our stay, however, propriety was on the edge.

I liked this hotel, a couple of miles out of Melksham. In a grand stone manor building, it is well presented with beautiful public spaces, a restaurant, and some lovely rooms. The lovely outdoor swimming pool was heated to a warm temperature which was nice. It has nice grounds to wander around in, and it was quiet at nighttime, with just the birds to wake you up. Our room on the ground floor was a quiet, cosy twin, we had enough space just to pull the twin beds apart to make some space between the beds. Great, strong shower over the bath. A fridge and tea making facilities. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant, it was very nice food. Breakfast is served in there every day. The staff were lovely and super helpful.

Maybe a Nespresso machine in the rooms.

Great place! The house is wonderful and the garden is huge. Our room was confortable and nicely decorated. Perfect location from bath (30 minutes by car). Very nice for a weekend! Unfortunately we had a rainy weekend but easy to imagine how the swimming pool should be nice when the sun is here.

Our room was located at the 2nd floor and even if the weather was not great, it was very warm inside. Hard to imagine how it is without air conditioning when it’s sunny. The restaurant : prices are high and not really meeting the expectations.
