Lovely boutique hotel. Rooms above their bar and they also have a restaurant a few doors down. Fantastic location on the top of Catherine Street. So straight walk down into Frome town. Lotte was lovely, as were all the staff. Especially Hattie, her gorgeous little doggie we fell in love with! Very comfortable room with lovely decor, fantastic shower and very soft bed linen. We ate at the restaurant one night, which was fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely. We would highly recommend. We also had drinks a couple of nights at the Bar Lotte and sat outside at bistro tables watching the world and their dogs go by. Just a very lovely and relaxed place to stay. We were very lucky with the weather and Bistro Lotte definitely had that French summer vibe!

Just to note that the room we stayed in looks over the street so there was traffic noise as we had the windows open. Not excessive just something to note if you’re not used to that. Also we did feel for the price, I would expect breakfast to be included. Having said that, it’s not a deal breaker but would have been nice.

Cute room above a lovely french restaurant and bar! Super comfy large bed and excellent shower. The room could do with some more decor/soft furnishing touches but all in all was very functional and comfortable.

Frustratingly the wifi didn't work for us at any point across the 3 nights, the passwords given in the room were incorrect and the extra ones given by the bar also didn't work! Breakfast wasn't included in the room price and we dined in restaurant 2 out of the 3 nights. It would be great to either get breakfast included or a discount on eating in the restaurant when staying in the rooms.

The bed and pillows were so exceptionally comfortable; shower was one of the best; nice coffee and tea selection; lovely botanical toiletries; warm quiet room despite the bar being downstairs; parking available; room serviced to a very good standard after two nights; location unparalleled. Would stay again

Room was a bit tired with the shower ceiling rocking when we switched it on; ran out of milk fairly quickly and had to ask for more; no option to include breakfast; no do not disturb sign; TV poorly positions and very small for such a big room; rooms are desperate for a floor length mirror, there was nowhere suitable to do makeup which isn't going to be a issue for everyone but was really problematic for me

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and warm, a lovely space that promoted relaxation and peaceful sleep. The room was quiet with no disturbance from outside or the restaurant downstairs from the point I wanted to sleep. Having an alarm clock with the time displayed was very helpful. Food at the restaurant at breakfast and a booked dinner was exceptional, as were the cocktails at the bar.

The desk size and number of items on it was inconvenient for me being able to work on my laptop during my stay, though not a large issue as it was a short stay. A bedside mirror or desk mirror (had the desk been larger) would have been welcome so that I could sit to do make-up - I used the wardrobe mirror but had to sit or kneel as there was no surface nearby. Makes the room ideal as a holiday base for relaxing and sleeping between excursions, but possibly not for those who need their hotel to double as a work space.

Great location, room size was okay. Lovely staff. Our only complaint was the damp smell in the room, which meant the window had to be open all the time, and the duvet smelt like it hadn't dried fast enough, so it needed to be changed. The staff quickly rectified the issue, though, and the replacement was fine. Overall, it was a lovely hotel I just think it was that particular room that wasn't the best as our friends have stayed here previously in a different part of the hotel and didn't have any issues.

The room was nicely decorated, and it was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The position is ideal - at the top of St Catherine's Hill. Good atmosphere. Good value.

The steep winding stairs up to the bedrooms will be a problem for some. You can hear the constant traffic on the main road - we had to have the windows open as it was hot weather. The mattresses were comfortable but not the pillows. Limited choice for vegetarians, not keen on the dish chosen but well cooked.

Very comfortable room. Big, very comfortable bed. Real coffee in the bedroom. Shower very good. Shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, hand wash and hand sanitiser in the bathroom were all really gorgeous. Lovely, lovely restaurant with fabulous food and a genuine “French” feeling, which was very nice. Very friendly staff.

Difficult to find anywhere to park - we did eventually get a place but then were reluctant to go out in our car because we’d lose it. But I appreciate it’s a problem with Frome in general, not just at Bistro Lotte. Stairs to the room are steep - but I appreciate there’s not much can be done about that.

It’s quirky! Comfortable bed, great shower, lovely smelling toiletries. Breakfast was fresh and different -a French twist on the usual fare. Dinner was a delight-book early.

The road past Bistro Lotte (Catherine St) is very narrow and windy with very limited parking. Suggest parking in Weymouth Road on the opposite side of the road.

Breakfast options were ideal and the quality of both food and drinks was excellent. Our room (family room) was spacious and very comfortable. Beds and bed linen good quality. Bathroom facilities very good. Great shower, toiletries, generous-size towels, instant hot water. The bistro was exceptional.

WiFi provision was very poor. None of us could connect. The room guide led us to expect this difficulty, but these days it should be better, we thought. Booking.com's room description is inaccurate. We spoke to the owner direct about this.

Very central location, wonderful comfy bed and excellent shower. Nice touch to have fresh milk in the room. The room was above the restaurant but very quiet. Food in the restaurant was excellent so I would recommend eating there. They also have a few parking spots up the road, which was an added bonus.

Nothing not to like really.. If I was being super picky, I think the room would have benefitted from a couple of prints on the walls to complement the overall look, and maybe a box of tissues would have been nice in the bedroom.
