I absolutely loved this gem of a place. It is so quirky and full of charm. The owner is amazing. Debbie is friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is great. I had an evening meal which was tasty and the beef burger was homemade. Delicious. There's a good choice of breakfast as well. I had smoked salmon with scrambled egg one morning and a full English breakfast the next. Both delicious and nothing was too much trouble for Debbie. Thank you for looking after me and I will definitely stay here again if I return to Shepton Mallet.

Very friendly, family business vibe. Clean, fresh rooms. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. Very welcome.. Breakfast was lovely, good size and hot. Outside space in evening if you wanted a drink. Bar prices good. It had everything you could need. One of the best night's sleep I'd had away from home.

Not any dislikes but recommendation really. Furniture was a bit to big and bulky for the size of room, Big space under the eves for hanging and storage of luggage, then a huge tall chest of drawers with small TV high above it, probably better to have low chest to put tea making equipment on. Big dressing table with mirror but no stool or chair to sit at. Plug socket behind bed, so had to get behind to charge phone. Outside window big crack. Not anything that spoiled my stay though as I only stayed 1 night.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the town centre. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely at the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful. Ample parking. The only thing I would say is that the decor, hotel interior and bedrooms need a bit of TLC. The bathroom carpets need to be removed as not very hygienic. The bed was too soft for me but husband was fine with it so that is personal preference. Not much happening in Shepton Mallet itself but nearby Wells was lovely and worth a visit

The Breakfast was a Full English / Cereal / a few other bits that were perfect for the morning start. The Staff were the making of the Hotel as they were lovely to talk to and informative about the area. The evening meal was lovely and meant that I did not need to go out of the hotel for a Pint and a good meal. The rear hotel garden is lovely to be in on a nice day.

The hotel is under relatively new ownership, so there are a number of plans in the pot to modernise the hotel a little, if you take this into consideration then the slightly dated decoration will not be a disappointment, as it is all clean and functioning, so not a issue really. Smart TV's would be a nice addition to add to the list as the current ones only show terrestrial channels and are a little small in the modern day. More people stream now days as well, but that can easily be resolved with a dongle which I will take with me on my next visit, as the WIFI is excellent and free so streaming should not be a problem.

Great location. Fantastic breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed with a selection of pillows. Good variety of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. Really quiet, had a great night’s sleep. Staff were fantastic. We were starving on arrival and ordered sandwiches, these were freshly made and delivered to our room, delicious!

If I’m being picky I couldn’t get the shower head to sit exactly where I wanted it. But it wasn’t a problem.

This is a small privately run hotel. It's got loads of character and a homely touch. Nothing generic here. Lots of attention to detail especially at breakfast. It's not high luxury, and it's not got all mod cons, but it is well located has easy parking and is a decent place to stay.

With character and age come creaky floorboards and rattling windows, no air con etc but that's part of the attraction.. if you want generic then find a premier Inn, if you want something different and unique then this is for you. We enjoyed our stay and if we are ever back in the town we would stay again.

The room looked freshly decorated and whilst compact it was very comfortable, with lots of lovely extra touches such as regularly topped up water bottles, hot choc and cookies. Breakfasts were filling and delicious to set you up for the day. Staff friendly. A group of us also enjoyed our pub style lunches too. Being right in town it was very convenient as well.

The bed is very comfortable.duvet is soft and fluffy. staff are friendly and attentive.breakfast is great lots to choose from.I recommend their special food. the room is clean and tidy. Location is close to wells, cheddar gorge and bath. Morrisson is just in the corner if you want to buy something.well recommended.

The bathroom curtain needs washing. Curtain is better if its not a blind.

The breakfast was good. Great selection of cereals, yogurt and fruit. The cooked breakfast was just enough and served hot. Credit to the chef.

Road noise as the room was at the front. Not really a compaiyas I live in a rural area so any car noise is noisy! Hotel nice and quiet at night though even when fully booked

Everything, good private parking spaces. Hotel just 10 minutes walk to shepton mallet prison too ,for A night of ghost Hunting or just seeing it in the daytime & lovely friendly staff & owner + good clean room
