This was our 2nd stay and would definitely return. We chose a different room this time which suited us better as not in main building and arrived when there was a downpour. The manager who checked us in was so helpful and friendly and advised us to move our car to their parking so we could unload and we were able to do so when leaving too. They told us on arrival what events they had on too which was really helpful. Couldn't ask for a better location and private parking was only a 5 min walk away.

Nothing really, as we had a room outside the main building, this was much better than our last visit and will be booking again on our next visit

Beautiful quirky building in the centre of the town with easy access to the main heritage sites and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good entertainment at the weekend. For beer lovers, lots of ales to try. Rooms quiet despite music from below. Good choice of teas and coffees and bottled water both sparkling and still, provided free of charge. Cheaper than many of the other hotels in the town centre

Hair dryer provided but no mirror anywhere near a power outlet to allow drying hair and styling with any degree of accuracy. Mirror in bathroom above sink with good lighting but again no where nearby to plug in hair styling tools. Bath with shower attachment but no shower or shower curtain to prevent spraying surrounding area.

Travelling with dogs is never easy but the staff at The White Hart made us so welcome. Henry was particularly thoughtful and had a lovely manner. We even got to enjoy the first Open Mic evening of the year! Our room was very comfortable and warm, a lovely bed and bedlinen, and a very welcome hot bath, as we arrived cold and bedraggled. Breakfast was flexible and everything one needed. A good full English or smoked salmon with avocado and choice of eggs with other choices too. Thank you Team White Hart!

This might not be a good choice for individuals with mobility challenges as no on site parking and due to differing floor levels in such an historic building.

Breakfast was the tastiest full English we have had away in a long time. We also ate in the bar and there was a good choice of locally sourced foods that were reasonably priced and served piping hot as was the breakfast. The bar is a real ale lovers gem with 18 Ipas,ales and ciders to choose from absolutely exceptional. They need to update the bar photos to show this.The bar was busy and friendly all day and entertainment in the evening a bonus. Staff were so friendly we will definitely be back.

The weather Storm Burt curtailed exploring but still managed the Cathedral which was opposite.

Quiet room, clean facilities and good bar with wide selection of beers on tap. Close to the town centre amenities and has a reasonable beer garden. Breakfast was tasty and the breakfast room was cosy. Service was good and attentive.

It was difficult to access the room with a mobility scooter. We could not access the bar with the scooter due to numerous steps front and back of the premises. There was a portable ramp, but it was too big to access the bar and it just about fit the room steps. In the end we dismantled the scooter to get it in and out of the room, as the ramp was too steep to use.

Omg I did not expect this! A cosy cabin-like room, decorated with rural touches and attention to details. A painted-tile bathroom floor which I LOVED with a wood paneled bath. Cute personal high quality soap, shampoo and moisturiser bottles.. Wine glasses with the beautiful Stag symbol and hot chocolate for a good cosy evening. It was meticulously clean and the bed was so comfy. Perfect for an Autumn/Winter getaway. The room had a wardrobe and a chest of drawers for storage and was SO cosy I wanted to stay long after check-out time. Staff were kind and cheerful. Price was so affordable I was shocked. Will definitely book again!! What can I say... this Hart truely stole my heart... 😆

The room had a private access through a courtyard - which was great! But no view. I didn't mind as the location was great - streight in the centre of Town.

Great location, large rooms, comfortable beds and dog friendly.

The only disappointing element of the stay was not being unable to confirm whether we would be able to check in a little earlier. We had a wedding to get to after a long drive and we just wanted to be able to drop bags etc and quickly change half an hour before the check in time. But on emailing and calling I was told that they couldn’t guarantee the rooms would be ready so we had to play it by ear and arrive crossing fingers that they would let us in, which they did. My daughter with her young baby cancelled her stay because she needed to know beforehand whether arriving half an hour would be acceptable and as they weren’t able to confirm this they found somewhere else to stay. Such a shame because the place is lovely and comfortable, great breakfast and helpful staff!

Excellent location right by Wells abbey and the town centre. Good breakfast with modern menu e.g. smoked salmon and smashed avocado as well as the usual full English Little extras in room such as bottled water and nice biscuits and herbal tea bags and little individual bottles of shower gel, body lotion etc. instead of wall dispensers. Good range of food and ales and ciders in bar. Very friendly and efficient staff and service. Good price.

Bathroom could do with a refurb but OK.

Breakfast excellent good choice also Sunday roast. Location excellent near to town centre and other pubs and restaurants the cathedral is a 3min walk and the palace about 5mins max great Saturday market and 20mins to Cheddar Gorge by car. Room clean and had hairdryer and all you need for a stay. Staff great nothing too much trouble friendly and accommodating

Not really anything but the bathroom could do with a little TLC but was fine to use and a shelf in the bathroom or small cabinet to put your toiletries on/in would be great . A dressing table of some sort would also be an added bonus

The room was fantastic and comfortable. We had the valentines menu for dinner in the pub, and the selection was great, as well as the price being great value. Our waiter, a younger lad with blonde hair, was particularly friendly and provided excellent customer service, really making our night! Amazing selection of beers and wine in the pub with a great atmosphere, all staff were helpful and friendly.

A bit more shampoo and conditioner and maybe a bit more warmth in the room, everything else was lovely!
