As it was rated 2* I didn’t have high hopes, but I was very pleasantly surprised especially with the little touches (like the waters & biscuits being replenished on the second day - something I’ve found doesn’t happen in stays at other higher rated hotels recently). There was even a fan in the room, which was brilliant as the weather was extremely hot during my stay. The location was great, bed was comfy and it was a really pleasant stay, I’d definitely recommend.

It was a little noisy at night before closing with it being a pub downstairs as my room looked out onto the courtyard. It didn’t bother me at all, but perhaps if you were someone who wanted an early night, you might want to request a quieter room for this reason, but like I mentioned, no complaints from me!

We had two drinks in the bar. My husband had a draft beer. I ordered an aperol spritz. Your female server said they didn’t have this drink but have your own version. I said okay. She brought over a very large drink. Our bill came to $29 Canadian. FOR TWO DRINKS! She never asked or told us the drink would be more. We didn’t realize this until we tapped our card to pay. Your other young man on staff was terrific and helped arranged a fair price taxi ride back to Wells the next morning. Great stay but felt taken advantage of with this drink situation so would not go back or recommend your place.

Everything about this place was just fantastic. The staff are genuinely friendly and professional. The list of beer and in particular, cider was wonderful. The live open mic evening session on Tuesday evening was hilarious and the hosts were very talented. The service at the bar was top quality. The atmosphere at this Inn was friendly and comfortable. We stayed here two nights and had the most comfortable time. The location of the Inn is brilliant. Breakfast choice is brilliant and tastey Love the way this Inn is dog friendly too. I love Wells as it's been the most homely and friendly city I've ever been too and the White Hart Inn just rounds it off perfectly. We'll definitely come back to Wells and stay at this beautiful Inn

Nothing at all

The hotel is right in the heart of the city. The cathedral and shops are right on the doorstep. This is a very old building, with lots of character. The staff were great, as was the food. I had an evening meal, as well as breakfast, and both were lovely. The room was well equipped. There was a lovely hospitality tray, big, fluffy towels, soap, shampoo, TV, fan, etc. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. It was very quiet. There was entertainment in the bar, but I didn't hear a thing in my room, so if you don't stay to listen to the music, you're not disturbed by it in your room.

There is no parking onsite, but there are public, pay, and display car parks dotted around and time limited, free overnight street parking nearby.

This was our 2nd stay and would definitely return. We chose a different room this time which suited us better as not in main building and arrived when there was a downpour. The manager who checked us in was so helpful and friendly and advised us to move our car to their parking so we could unload and we were able to do so when leaving too. They told us on arrival what events they had on too which was really helpful. Couldn't ask for a better location and private parking was only a 5 min walk away.

Nothing really, as we had a room outside the main building, this was much better than our last visit and will be booking again on our next visit

Beautiful quirky building in the centre of the town with easy access to the main heritage sites and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good entertainment at the weekend. For beer lovers, lots of ales to try. Rooms quiet despite music from below. Good choice of teas and coffees and bottled water both sparkling and still, provided free of charge. Cheaper than many of the other hotels in the town centre

Hair dryer provided but no mirror anywhere near a power outlet to allow drying hair and styling with any degree of accuracy. Mirror in bathroom above sink with good lighting but again no where nearby to plug in hair styling tools. Bath with shower attachment but no shower or shower curtain to prevent spraying surrounding area.

The staff are really nice and helpful. Nice atmosphere and room was clean comfy and amazing location . Food was amazing too just overall good stay . Stayed twice now and same experience. Dog friendly too . Straight facing the cathedral. If you are looking for somewhere to stay clean and just a great atmosphere would highly recommend here. the cider and beers are good too . Signal and WiFi not strong but not a bad thing if you are looking to escape from every day life .

Can honestly say nothing was great value for money well worth a visit 😀

Travelling with dogs is never easy but the staff at The White Hart made us so welcome. Henry was particularly thoughtful and had a lovely manner. We even got to enjoy the first Open Mic evening of the year! Our room was very comfortable and warm, a lovely bed and bedlinen, and a very welcome hot bath, as we arrived cold and bedraggled. Breakfast was flexible and everything one needed. A good full English or smoked salmon with avocado and choice of eggs with other choices too. Thank you Team White Hart!

This might not be a good choice for individuals with mobility challenges as no on site parking and due to differing floor levels in such an historic building.

Breakfast was the tastiest full English we have had away in a long time. We also ate in the bar and there was a good choice of locally sourced foods that were reasonably priced and served piping hot as was the breakfast. The bar is a real ale lovers gem with 18 Ipas,ales and ciders to choose from absolutely exceptional. They need to update the bar photos to show this.The bar was busy and friendly all day and entertainment in the evening a bonus. Staff were so friendly we will definitely be back.

The weather Storm Burt curtailed exploring but still managed the Cathedral which was opposite.

Perfect location from which to explore the area. Lovely, comfortable newly decorated bedroom. Teas,coffee, milk ,biscuits, water in room each day.FAN !!! Friendly, helpful staff., lovely venue, food,and drinks Great deal and very peaceful nights sleep. Loved the little courtyard facing our room and whole ambiance of the hotel.

Access to our room was a quite steep staircase but it kept us fit and" on our feet". Was not a problem for us. Could be if the weather was wet tho!!!
