A Hidden Gem of Comfort and Charm I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Old Stable Bed and Breakfast, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that instantly made me feel at home. The setting is beautifully peaceful, with charming surroundings that reflect the perfect countryside escape. My room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable—every detail felt thoughtfully arranged to create a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast each morning was a real treat—fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. It was the perfect start to the day, served in a cozy dining area that added to the homely feel of the place. What truly sets The Old Stable apart is the personal touch. The hosts were not only friendly and attentive but went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable and stress-free. If you're looking for a quiet retreat with charm, comfort, and outstanding service, The Old Stable B&B is a perfect choice.

The Old Stables is an absolutely beautiful bed & breakfast. You can tell Simon and Aly have put all their heart into this place. Every detail and corner of the barn has been purposely thought through. The atmosphere is so relaxing and heartwarming! I would have loved to stay longer. The breakfast was the best English breakfast I have ever had! I also loved how welcoming they are of dogs. My little mini schnauzer was so happy exploring the place :) We stayed the weekend before Christmas and that only added to the charm of the place.

The breakfast was exceptional and there was a warm welcome from Aly and Simon. They provided ordinary milk and a fridge, which we much preferred to those little sachets. They didn't clean the room every day during our stay (since COVID times) but were happy to replace anything as requested. The shortbread biscuits left in the room were lovely and the room itself was beautiful.
I didn't realise until the third day of our stay that I could have requested clean mugs and towels, but that was my fault for not reading the welcome pack!

We have never felt so welcomed in a B&B before - thank you Alyson and Simon (and of course Jasper) for making our stay so wonderful. We especially appreciated the small recommendations they gave us when they asked about our plans for the day. The breakfast is amazing. You order the night before and can choose from Englisch breakfast, pancakes, waffles ... everything freshly prepared. The old stable has been nicely renovated and the rooms are all decorated with great care. We can rommend this B&B wholeheartedly!
Nothing, everything was perfect!

We enjoyed everything about the place. The little added extras in the room, THE BREAKFASTS were amazing and the hosts Ally and Simon were fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble and they also took an interest in what was on your agenda for the day. Well worth the money and would definitely stay again if in the area.
There was nothing that you couldn't like about this property. If I was pushed, it is a little remote so if you're one who likes more hustle and bustle it won't be for you.

The breakfast was outstanding, plenty of choices , freshly made of local ingredients . The room was perfect, we had garden room which was ideal on ground floor and opened into garden and chairs provided , luckily it warmed up enough to sit out. The location was very nice and quiet, to relax after a busy day out and about. Simon and Ally was very friendly and very welcoming,
Perfect B&B

I booked a two night stay for my girlfriends birthday to longleat which was only a 20 minute drive, I looked around at reviews of other local places to stay and this one came on top.. the pictures looked nice and the price was reasonable. Staying here is the best place we’ve ever stayed!, the building was absolutely gorgeous, the hosts Simon, Alyson & Jasper of course made us feel so welcomed nothing was too much trouble and we felt as if we were truly valued. The room was perfect in every way possible there wasn’t anything we would have changed, Breakfast was also Devine!! We will certainly be booking another trip next winter without doubt, Thankyou again 5 stars all the way!

Our hosts - Aly and Simon - were friendly and welcoming. The standard of The Old Stables is very high and our room - The Granary - was large and well furnished. The breakfast was exceptional - both in the choice offered and in the quality of the cooking.
It could not have been better and fully lived up to the impression given on the website.

Perfect place for a couples time away. We were really well looked after by the wonderful hosts. Beautiful spaces, most delicious breakfasts, and warm, cosy evenings by the fireplace. What more could you ask for?! We would love to go back for more quiet time and nourishment. Thank you, Alyson and Simon. You are brilliant hosts. And if anyone is worried about being around Jasper the dog… as someone who is a bit afraid of dogs, I felt absolutely safe around Jasper, who is such a well behaved dog.
We loved it.
