I am on an East Coast tour, mostly northeast. I started in Virginia and worked my way up to Poughkeepsie NY. Some of the hotels I stayed at cost way-too-much for my budget. Holiday Inn Express Poughkeepsie offered me an excellent (i.e. low price) price so I can finish my tour. Considering the price, I got a good room, free Wi-fi, exercise room, a utilitarian bathroom where I can clean my hard to reach places, in-room microwave (so I can heat up a frozen dinner from a local supermarket), self-service laundry room, and a surprisingly good breakfast, and free parking. The location was convenient for me. I got to visit FDR & Eleanor's Library, Home, and Museum. I also visited Hudson River Maritime Museum.

The room was outdated. The furnishings were worn. The lighting was too low for my eyes, because I wear corrective lenses. My room was located next to an exit door to the parking lot. The door was damaged and it closed with a loud bang, but I had no trouble sleeping. The TV would work and suddenly stop responding to the remote. The only remote command that did work was to turn off the TV.

Breakfast was quite good. Varied menu - many options. Especially liked the white egg veggie omelette as an option. Room was comfortable and quiet. There were some nice amenities (e.g. free bottles of water - small Dove soap bars.) Liked the set up of the room with a space for a couch and table. Staff was welcoming and cordial. The location was good for us - just a few miles from the event.

The mattress was a bit hard and the pillows were too big. It would have been helpful to have a list of the TV channels.

My second time in this hotel and I enjoy it very much. The room that I stayed in was much bigger than the first room I was in.

I didn’t like that I had to call housekeeping to come and change my sheets. I was up since 11 am looking for them and they said that in and the sign up saying do not disturbed when I never had the sign up. Just say you forgot to knock on my door.

Clean enough, allowed me to check in earlier than stated arrival, incredibly comfortable bed, good breakfast, free coffee and water, nice patio to eat or relax outside

2 out of the 5 machines in the fitness room did not function, pool was closed, some remaining hair found in shower but still was a clean bathroom

It’s just generally where we like to stay in Poughkeepsie. Might try a little more reasonable Hotel next time.

Everything was fine, never did offer my old standby bacon @ breakfast on our 4 night stay, which is ok just mix it up more. And not real reasonably priced.

Well-appointed room. Freezer in the fridge. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast options and even very good coffee. There was a wifi password! Very gracious staff.

The Keurig in the room did not work, but the coffee in the lobby was always available and was excellent.

Water pressure was amazing. Room and facility was very clean. Breakfast was consistently good.

pillows were a little flat and shower curtain did not cover the opening while water was running. Wish your pool was back open.

Clean,quiet. Good location. Safe neighborhood. Close to shopping and restaurants. Room was spacious. Bed comfortable. AC worked well. Hot water with good water pressure in shower. Dove brand bathroom products available. Easy check in and out .

I liked the design of the room and the attention to detail. Loved the choice of Dove products and their convenient location. The breakfast choices were great and catered to many dietary preferences.

The only thing that could be different is the proximity of the toilet to the shower and that the shower door does not open on the faucet side so you have to get into the shower to turn water on which is very cold for the first minute.

Friendly Staff, Clean and safe location. Good breakfast. Was great for our 2 night stay. Will need a car, Uber, etc. to travel in the area unless you want to ride the bus that runs every hour. The area is pretty spread out and is really not walkable.
