The room, a junior suite was large and comfortable. The view from the window was lovely. The food at the restaurant and in the cafe was good as was the service. The breakfast buffet was well staffed and had plenty of choice and it was nicely displayed. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful.

We would have liked two easy chairs at the coffee table in the window of our room. We would prefer a kettle in the room rather than a coffee machine - which we couldn't get to work. There was no 'do not disturb' notice in our room which we did mention but nothing was done about it. I do wish the Paradores would have food available before 8.30pm in the evening. The cafe is open but they can't do food until the kitchen opens for dinner. I know the Spanish eat late but not everyone wants to and a choice would be a good thing

Very luxurious. The breakfast was amazing- lots of local products and high quality foods. The room was silent and very spacious. The receptionist was lovely. Everything easy and clean. They let me work in one of their lounge spaces after a flexible checkout.

A bit expensive for a simple stopover. The window gave on to a road above a stone wall. Hard to open the windows since the curtains are fixed. The order of how to get breakfast was a bit confusing - and the waitresses a bit short and snobby.

Lovely setting in a quiet village, with countryside on the doorstep, so ideal for walks and bike rides from the hotel. Most rooms seem to have great views over to the hills. Lovely buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and nice food in the restaurant, with the option of eating in the cafe for a lighter meal.

As it's in a small village, there are no other facilities nearby, so you are limited in choice of eating options without travelling out somewhere else and so you will need transport.

What a great find!! The hotel is situated in a quiet village with lovely views, about 15 minutes drive from Vitoria-Gasteiz. We found the environment very relaxing and calm. The hotel is beautifully presented and the service offered by the team was first class. The cafe/bar, restaurant and gardens all offered a great experience. Breakfast was excellent, high quality and beautifully presented - Well worth paying for in my opinion. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden and surrounding area. We would not hesitate to go back next time we are in the area.

Parking at the hotel seemed a little limited, there is a car park but it was often full when we returned to the hotel. However, there are good/safe parking options close by on the roads surrounding the hotel.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this Parador, the wonderful historic rooms and tranquil garden were fabulous. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The bar area and lounges are very pleasant with a wonderful terrace overlooking the garden. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and breakfast in the fabulous historic dining room. We would highly recommend.

It would have been nice to relax on a sunlounger and read a book in the garden, possibly with a small plunge pool as the weather was very hot.

The state-owned Paradores chain is one of the jewels of Spanish hospitality. These places are oases of calm class, and Argomaniz was no exception. The setting is just lovely, looking out over the agriculture of the plain below. Everything about this place is just "right" - peaceful rooms, great water pressure in the shower, lovely staff and delicious dinner and breakfast, all in a delightful historic palace. Not showy or super-deluxe, just "right"! Basically unfaultable.

Leaving!

Lovely quiet location in a hamlet- no shops or cafes close by. Bilbao is only an hour away. Reception gentleman was top class- friendly and helpful. Gardens were lovely with plenty of seating. Restaurant is real old world- amazing timber design.

2 barmen downstairs. Elderly man was top class- efficient and friendly. The younger man was preoccupied with logging his records on the computer and kept 3 of us waiting 5/10 minutes without an apology- he needs to learn about customer service from his colleague who eventually looked after us.

We arrived later in the afternoon so did not manage to walk around the area, but the views from the hotel were amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the evening meal and there was a lot of choice for breakfast. We have stayed in a Parador hotel before and love the old buildings they are in.

The only niggle, is with being British, it would be lovely to have some tea making facilities in the bedroom. Nice to have a cup of tea whilst you are unpacking.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our stay near to the main road but far enough away so it was quiet. Good size room with everything you need. Breakfast was amazing lots of choices including made fresh to order hot food. Wish we had longer to see the beautiful countryside. Parking was good, plenty.

The lateness of the opening times for the restaurant we had had a long drive and wanted to eat dinner earlier than the restaurant opened it appears most Spanish restaurants open at 21.00h but we wanted to get to bed early as we had another long drive the next day. We ate at the restaurant but didn't sleep so well eating that late. Next time we will eat in the cafeteria.

Amazing location and fabulous outlook. Our junior suite was very spacious and just a pity the weather meant we couldn’t make the most of the outdoor spaces. Good quality linen and good size bath towels. Excellent and very helpful staff on reception. Helped us with parking in the pouring rain and Managed to find us a kettle.

Too few staff in the restaurant and bar (as frequent in paradors)
