Fantastic location. Obviously loved by the locals and tourists for its restaurant and Sunday lunches. The room we were allocated on the second night in the main building was spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The staff were helpful.
We were allocated a room in the annex which was far too small and claustrophobic in the heatwave. We spent a very uncomfortable night there with mosquitos. The Old Mill, as the name suggests, has a stream/river location which inevitably attracts mosquitos yet there were no plug in mosquito repellent etc. and the management did not know of such means of repelling mosquitos. The manager the next day was very helpful and found us a room in the main building which made our stay more comfortable. We consider the restaurant prices were far too expensive. Particularly the cheese platter for £20 which consisted of a small side plate of three small slices of cheese, 4 crackers, a quarter sliced apple and a small lump of quince; not good value at all.

Location lovely country pub hotel feel. Gardens and river through them very pleasant and views from the room balcony. Welcoming friendly staff extended to the delicious and varied menu. Delicious and plentiful three meat roast and spinach wraps. Many areas to sit and relaxed in the Bar, conservatory and outside areas. Our only disappointment was it being room only at £100+ I felt breakfast could be included in that price. However the bespoke comfortable rooms were lovely clean different and small touches like fresh milk and water in the fridge and a very powerful efficient Dyson tower fan meant the room was comfortable. Well recommended.
Breakfast was not included in the room rate.

The area around the Old Mill is beautiful with ponds, streams, etc. A gorgeous setting for the summer. We went in October it was still pretty but you wouldn't wish to sit outside. We had dinner at 8pm and the fire pit was not lit and we were told that they just had let it die down. If they had the fire on, it would have been warmer and a nicer atmosphere. The fire was on when we checked in at 4pm? I really thought the fire would be on in the evening. I was cold and thankfully they had blankets in the restaurant which I used whilst having dinner. The ladies toilets in the restaraunt were much warmer (I stayed there a bit to warm myself up). Food was good though. The room we had was large, clean and nicely set up. I couldn't locate a hairdryer in the room.
The fire pit not being on in the evening at the restaurant. Couldn't locate hairdryer so went to dinner with wet hair.

Beautiful hotel in lovely water gardens, it was a mill once upon a time. Gorgeous design bed- room, large & modern, with large outside furnished patio - sadly, weather was too inclement to use it. Room was very hot, so we turned the heating down and opened the window. (Unfortunately, a mosquito decided to come in and drove us mad, whining round the room when we were trying to sleep.) Great selection of teabags & nice free biscuits.
I'm allergic to feather & down bedding, so had to request staff to come & change pillows for foam ones. This request was courteously carried out.

Everything except the last two courses of the meal. The room was small as expected, but had everything we could possibly want and immaculately prepared!
The first course pate and soup were superb, dissapointingly the main , chicken Kiev was rather dry and the apple tart stone cold. The glass entrance door frame to the main bar is way too low for me as I am 6ft 4” and struck my head on it as I entered struggling with 2 cases. The warning sign is virtually invisible in low light or darkness. I was lucky not to suffer a serious injury.

Lovely hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. Exceptionally attentive staff who couldn't do enough to help. Food in restaurant was excellent ( continental breakfast could have had a little more choice, but was tasty nevertheless).
Nothing to dislike really ( being situated next to a stream meant there were a few mosquitos in the room, and we did get bitten, but that's not a criticism of the hotel, just unfortunate)

A beautiful building in a beautiful setting with rooms that were cosy, warm, and everything we needed, plus very comfy beds and great size. Large selection on the breakfast menu and so delicious too. All the staff were lovely, friendly, welcoming, and had time for us and so helpful. Couldn't wish for more and will definitely return.
Kettle in room. Was great and fresh milk, as well as cold water in the fridge. Big selection of tea and coffee plus biscuits. Also the fab selection of toiletries. They smell divine.

Rooms and bathrooms are large and cater for all your needs. The room was very comfortable. The food at both dinner and breakfast was well cooked and presented. Very nice location and very nice gardens.
The menu for dinner on this occasion was fairly limited, most of the offerings were spicy and my wife was looking for something fairly plain as she was recovering from a stomach bug and wanted a bit more than a plain salad. We felt the menu was quite pricey for what it offered. There was a lack of attention to detail. Two bulbs were out in the bathroom, one above the wash basin, which hampered shaving.

Beautiful surroundings and the bedrooms were lovely with very comfortable beds. The staff were so friendly and helpful and food was delicious :)
The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night but there was no one on site to help guests and the emergency numbers were not working to contact anyone. It was only when we set the burglar alarm off while trying to find a way to stop the fire alarm that someone arrived to see what was happening.
