Location was wonderful since we traveled to attend a program at the Newberry Opera House. The breakfast was perhaps the best of any continental breakfast that I can recall. The staff was truly and genuinely welcoming and friendly.

The only thing to call out ... and it was minor... was the guestroom smell. Upon initially entering, my wife and I both thought it smelled as though a previous guest had a pet in the room. It was mild, and it diminished after the HVAC ran for a few minutes. We stopped noticing it. Giving benefit of the doubt, maybe it was a residual smell of the cleaning product line they use? Either way, we're not offended, and it was not a deal breaker. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Location is within walking of a couple nice bars and restaurants. Across the street from the Opera House. Lobby was clean and inviting. Digital check in and check out was easy on the Hilton App. Room key on your phone was very convenient. Property was very quiet. Ample parking. Coffee was really good. Dark Roast and Light Roast available. Dark Roast was out when I arrived in lobby but was replenished within about 10 minutes.

Pillows were polyester fill and fairly hot to sleep on. The hotel was less than half occupied and at 9am Sunday morning, the breakfast was under stocked. No bacon (the only meat) available, no regular waffle batter left, and limited bagels.

The only one critique I would have is the side door with the sign that says for my protection this door will always stay locked. Was not kept locked even after dark. I pulled it shut but don't know how long it stayed locked . This would not sit well with my wife if I told her.

Breakfast was good. Plenty of seating. The attendant did a great job keeping the breakfast area clean and restocked even though it was very busy. A good variety of choices. Loved the addition of stools in the room. They provided a comfortable private dining place. Loved the bathroom amenities especially the fragrance of the bar soap. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Check in/out was effortless. I felt like the staff were all friendly and also worked together as a team.

That I can’t stay here more often. This Hampton Inn will be the place I will stay when visiting Newberry. Convenient to downtown Newberry.

When I entered the lobby/reception area, I immediately noticed the rich dark wood on the walls and surrounding area. It made everything appear regal and luxurious. Further, it made the room quiet and inviting.

I can think of nothing that could be better.

The Front Desk Staff was EXCELLENT. They took great pride in their professional job and their awesome facility. Quin & Mier made sure that all of our needs were met & exceeded, Great team working together to uphold Hampton standard.

I don't like housekeeping knocking on my door in the morning to see if I'm checking out. If they want to know if the room is empty, have them coordinate with the front desk. Front desk charged me for my room that was already paid for.

No one cleaned on my 2nd day. Ran out of toilet paper and kleenex (had to get from the front desk). Also, I could not get any of the drink machines to work properly.

Breakfast was great! The front desk offered us two free bottles of water, a first for a hotel! It’s the little things that count.

Get rid of CNN in breakfast area

The staff are always super friendly and helpful The hotel was very busy with the hurricanes in the area but they still did everything they could to get us into our room as soon as possible!
