The breakfast was good, with a reasonably full English, the only thing missing was black pudding. My wife likes porridge in the morning, but it wasn't on the menu. Tea and coffee and the real orange juice were great, but there was no fresh fruit salad or yoghurts.

We had dinner on the Friday night. The whitebait starter was really excellent. I then had fish and chips as a main course. The batter on the fish was like concrete, I left most of it, and the chips were from unpeeled potatoes so many of them were edged with skins. I don't like eating potato skins.

A lovely hotel just a mile from Lymington, Extremely comfortable and clean rooms, good selection of teas and coffees, Very quiet at night. Staff were brilliant, Good breakfast and nice choice of food and drinks. A few more fresh fish dishes would be good considering its very near the coast.

Could do with an odd job man to tidy up outside and do the gardens - doors and windows would benefit from a coat of paint to keep up appearances. One of the carparks would be ideal to put a barrier on and advertise secure classic car parking being so close to Beaulieu motor museum.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Walhampton Arms. Room was clean and bed was big and comfortable. Clean towels provided whenever required. Rooms all on ground level and can park very close to the room, no lugging bags up stairs or any distance. Plenty of drinks supplied in the room including water. Home made shortbread also given which was a nice extra. Food in the pub was good quality and several choices for breakfast. Service polite and friendly. Location just under a mile from Lymington High St and convenient for travelling anywhere in the New Forest. Photos on the website don't really do it justice, this is a good place to stay.

The only difficulty I had was regulating the temperature in the shower, may have been affected if facilities in other rooms were being used at the same time.

Good location for Lymington . Breakfast was not hugely extensive but very adequate - particularly anything cooked which was excellent. I had a perfectly cooked duck breast for dinner (so many can be 'tough'!). Staff were all very helpful & friendly and the whole atmosphere is quite relaxed & unhurried. In room heavy blackout curtain covering window & door - keeps out light & heat in hot weather works well. Easy parking. We will return!

Rush hour traffic is busy of course & cant be helped....just take earplugs - I do everywhere I go! Outside seating area (off bar area) just needs a bit of a scrub up & more could be done to make it a little more of an inviting area to eat in.

The room was in an annexe, very clean and bright with ceiling to floor windows and on the ground floor. We looked out at a car park but the location was brilliant as we walked the 15 minutes to the IoW ferry down a nice quiet lane so no parking hassles as we went over as foot passengers for the day. The bed was a nice big double, there was loads of hot water and the tea and coffee facilities were great with home made biscuits. the breakfast was included and very substantial and beautifully prepared.

We found the pillows a bit hard and there was a green light by the door that was on al night and kept us awake. The second night we put sticky tape over it! The bar could do with softening up a bit - huge and functional it lacks warmth.

We had an exceptionally comfortable and truly delightful stay . The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated, offering a modern and fresh ambiance that we thoroughly enjoyed. A particular highlight was the outstanding friendliness of the staff, who were always welcoming and helpful. The bar and restaurant areas also impressed us with their stylish and inviting decor, creating a lovely atmosphere.

The Walhampton Arms, was in a great location to reach all the new forest’s attractions, and 5 mins to Lymington town . We were greeted by the owners and staff all of which couldn’t do enough for you.. Breakfast was of a very high quantity, as was the evening meals, all freshly cooked and a good varied menu . We would most definitely recommend and return, the room was very comfortable and decorated lovely and always clean .

There was really nothing we didn’t like about our stay here, except the one and only thing that let our room down was the very torn net curtain.

We had a really good sized room and lovely and powerful shower in the en-suite. The shortbread which was complimentary was to die for!!! But we also had a good range of tea and coffee and hot chocolate and bottled water which was a lovely touch. We also had a great evening meal in the pub while we were there. We were a group of 12 but despite this we were served very quickly and the food was really tasty and freshly prepared. Breakfast in the morning was great too with a good choice on the menu. We opted for eggs Benedict - one of my favourites and was again very tasty. So all round a good choice.

I like the rooms, they are comfortable and have a good bathroom and great shower. It's so convenient being able to park right by the room. The food was good quality and served up quickly. There is a nice quiet peaceful friendly atmosphere. The rooms provide everything you need for a comfortable stay and the home.made shortbread is a thoughtful extra.

There was nothing I could find fault with. I'd stayed here before so I had an idea what it was going to be like.

A very nice, spacious bedroom room which looked as though it had been recently decorated. Ditto the ensuite. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food in the pub was tasty and the menu varied. Everywhere looked clean and we felt quite at home. We left having thoroughly enjoyed our stay and saying that we would be happy to go back in the future.

We were a little disappointed that food service stopped at 6.00 pm on the Sunday. The hotel is within walking distance of Lymington but a good deal of it is on a twisting lane with no footpaths and the road is reasonably busy which ruled out walking into town
