The hosts were lovely - Rick was a mine of local information and very chatty (with a great sense of humour!). They both (Lorraine and Rick) created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for me and my dog. The room was spacious, clean with an ensuite shower and loo. The coffee in the morning was copious and the packed lunch I had as an add on every day was tasty and exactly what I needed (good bread and fresh ingredients). Rick and Lorraine kept my dog food in a freezer/fridge for which I am grateful. Grayling House was cheaper than most places in Salisbury and offered value for money. The other guests were friendly too, at breakfast, which all makes for a pleasant experience.
I stayed at Grayling House during a heat wave - so the bedroom was quite warm and a little stuffy (to be expected in 33degreesC weather). A fan might have improved this although I didn't ask for one. But this was a minor niggle - the duvet was summer weight and the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The house is on the main Salisbury road, so traffic can be noisy, but I'm quite deaf so didn't mind this at all.

Just a lovely proper B&B, simple but elegant and friendly. Nothing too much trouble, really lovely rooms, really well situated for everywhere we want to go. (Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury). Don't expect a full English breakfast, as it's more fruit, toast and cereal etc, but that suited us perfectly - I don't want to be paying for a full english when I likely wouldn't eat it.
Toilets are (I think) macerator toilets, so I found there was a constant slight odour in the ensuite. I think it was probably not an option to have full flush toilets if the house is Listed or similar, so I don't think there is a way around it, but be prepared in advance and don't whinge about it afterwards as you've now been warned. You're welcome.

Rick was the definition of a genial host. I have interests in walking and history - and he was a font of interesting knowlege. The first day walk around Grovely Forest was a classic - and all suggested by Rick, along with interesting things to see along the way. He also suggested a 'free parking' route into Salisbury and the cathedral which involved a 15 minute route through countryside and river weirs. Didn't know much about Wiltshire before this holiday - it's struck me as a very pleasant place - like something from a less crowded bygone era.

Very friendly hosts. Lovely and clean . Large room and bathroom . Great location with fantastic village pub which served great beer (no food) . I needed early starts and they served breakfast early for me and gave me picnic breakfast on day I left .
Only minor niggle was free Sat tv in my room kept freezing and losing signal. Breakfast is continental only with plenty to eat but I do like a cooked breakfast treat when staying away

Good size ensuite room, clean, comfy beds. Location was ideal for an event I was attending, but also for Salisbury and Stonehenge. Even though it's next to a road, it's very quiet. Breakfast was good and chatted with other guests. Hosts were exceptional, so helpful and friendly. Recommended places to eat, see, and gave directions when needed - very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely stay again & recommend.

Everything! The location was great, the host - Rick - was such a great guy and always at hand to help. Stoford holds a lot of ancient history, and the Grayling House is right opposite the Stoford bridge - which holds a lot of British history. Also, an excellent pub - the Swan Inn - is just a minute's walk from Grayling House, and a stream runs right in front of Grayling House, across the road. Grayling House is clean, well kept, quiet - especially when you really need to get away and rest, and be close to nature. There's a lot to see around Stoford and Grayling House. The Bus - 2 and 24 - go to the City Centre and the rail/bus station, for just £2 each way.
My stay was too short! 🙂

It was a lovely ensuite room with comfy bed and facilities for tea. There was also access to a guest lounge. Very friendly host who made sure we had what we needed to settle in. We needed to check in late due to our train time and the owners were obliging and readily agreed to meet us when we arrived. We had an enjoyable stay.
The only thing I can think of to note was the continental breakfast was a bit basic, and used uht milk which my daughter didn't like.

Excellent welcome, my room was very comfortable with kettle and tea and coffee etc. I had taken my bike and it was well looked after and safe. Richard was very knowledge about the area and was great at giving tips for cycle routes and dining opportunities .
The breakfast was somewhat lacking however the price to stay was so good that the breakfast could easily have been added to at a shop. Toast, cereal and croissant was the order of the day however tea and coffee were endless

Very friendly and helpful host, comfortable accommodation, very reasonable price. Cross the fairly busy main road walk over the bridge and within 400 yards your in the lovely peaceful village of Great Wishford and its public house.
Nothing really, only minor downside is the pub doesn't serve food at the moment

'Mine Host' was very welcoming and extremely helpful - though always professional. The B&B is on a main road but not only gave me clear directions to my destination but carefully advised how to drive out without being in danger. I stayed two nights. The day I left for home gave me directions to avoid the traffic jams in the city, which sent me not only on my way quickly but along a delightful route. He advised another couple, staying overnight, of the best places to park and eat in the city. Local knowledge, smilingly shared - so invaluable!!
What could have been better? I could have stayed longer!
