The guesthouse is easily accessible on bus from the KTX station (and on foot from the bus station). The owner is fantastic - relaxed, kind and available. I was able to leave my luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was really handy. The location is perfect - you can walk to a number of Gyeongju's important sites in a matter of minutes and there are many nearby cafes and restaurants. The room is spacious, cool and comfortable. The shower works well and there's enough space to avoid the toilet getting wet. Breakfast is more on the basic/Western side (fried egg sandwich), but it's filling and the view from the breakfast room is great. Highly recommended!

Property is very nice and modern and it’s few minutes away from the tombs park and the city centre. The room was large, essential and clean There is a large breakfast area. Breakfast is quite limited so feel free to bring your own stuff. Coffee was very nice

I know it’s a Korean characteristic but perhaps putting a shower curtain will help not to flood the bathroom every time

First up, I must give 10/10 for service. I arrived in Gyeongju, not realising that Naver Map did not work well outside of major cities and followed bus directions that ended up taking me far from the location. When I informed the hostel, the staff member Lee worked past reception hours to personally ensure my arrival at the hostel. He was very assuring. Other positives: the hostel location meant I could walk to many major tomb sites; the hostel room looked better in reality than the photos; the entire hostel has a cosy vibe.

Minor point was the limited breakfast hours from 8.30am to 9.30am. So if you wanted an early start, then you might have to miss out on the hostel breakfast.

It was central, the staff was really helpful assisting us, the fact that we could wash our clothes there, and help ourselves with towels, etc. Also, the breakfast was nice, although very simple. Also possible to store suitcases the last day after checking out. Easy access with pin code at the doors. Nice aircondition in the rooms as it was hellish hot when we visited - 35-36 Celsius. Also the staff told us, probably better than the tourist information, what to visit, and how to get there.

There was not squigie in the bathroom, so the bathroom floor was wet a lot of times.

Stunning. Located in front of tombs and golden street and 15 minutes walking from old city, bus-stop to Yangdong and Bulguska is 5 minutes from the hotel. Guests are super-friendly and laundry service is available. Room is big enough; mine was close to common area but, thanks to education of other guest and a good soundproofing, nothing heard at night.

As every house in Korea, there is underfloor heating, but not in the bathroom, so it may be not feel warm, expecially during shower time. Breakfast time is a little bit late, start at 8.30, but some bus to village and temple are at 9.10 (if you want to visit them without mess of organized group).

We had the most wonderful stay at Gyeongju BonghwangMansion. We were greeted very friendly from the second we entered. In the morning, we joined the rest of the guests to have the kind owner serve us a great breakfast. The owner also had a chat with each of the guests, asking where they are from and helping with any questions related to Korea. The employees also went well and above to help us as much as they can. You can sense they did it from genuine kindness, and not just as part of their job. The hotel is located in a central part of Gyeongju, and all of the most important sights can be visited by foot or by bus to the temples. There is an amazing view from the kitchen, as you can have breakfast and gaze directly at the secret relics of the past. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Gyeongju, as well as putting Gyeongju in your itinerary when visiting Korea.

This is one of the best value for money places I’ve ever stayed in; the room was larger than some of the more expensive hotels I stayed at in Korea and the facilities were excellent. The staff too were incredibly helpful and friendly. Don’t miss the breakfast either - whilst being basic, it was pretty substantial.

The only minor thing I’d point out is that while the breakfast was good, it was only available for a relatively short time meaning that the room could get very crowded if you hit it at the wrong time - extending the timeframe for even half an hour or so would seem to make sense rather than funnelling everyone through that pretty short window.

The location is great - next to the sacred hills. The room size is huge, and it has all the facilities you may need. The breakfast is great and you can have it watching the hills.

Our room was quiet, at the end of the corridor. However, most of the rooms have the door facing the coffee area, so expect noise from the time that the breakfast starts: 08.30. There is no freedom to leave the luggage before the check-in (at least in March when we went there). We arrived and the place was closed - so we needed to wait one hour for the check-in time.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities were very sufficient. Breakfast of toast and eggs was sufficient and welcome. Thanks to the lovely 2 gentlemen cooking them for us. Coffee machine made good coffee. Breakfast area had great view of one of the large burial mounds. Rooms were spacious and comfortable beds. Separate bathroom was spacious. Great location very close to the burial tombs, walking distance to Hanok village, parklands, numerous bus stops, abit of a walk to the museum and wolji pond but very doable. Lots of eating places nearby to choose from. Taxi ride to bus terminal cost 4000 Won. Cheap!

It was very pleasant. Just be mindful that there’s no lift to the second floor so you have to carry your luggage. Could have done with a few more power points in the room. Also, Gyeongju train station no longer exists! It is closed! There was no information about this on internet anywhere. We found out because we asked the staff. The Ktx station is still open but few kilometres away.

Location is great, close to the city center but not in the most touristic area. It’s actually very quiet here, also thanks to the excellent sound proofing. Staff was super friendly and helped us to book a couple of extra nights. Room was clean and nice with comfy beds and a good shower. The breakfast is very “continental”, with toast and peanut butter. A first for us in Korea.

Not that much. The decor is a bit bland, basically everything is from IKEA. An extra coffee machine at breakfast would be useful, it can be quite busy.
