Amazing location at the top of a tobogganing route with no car access (45 min hike!). When it snows it’s magical! You can hire toboggans to go down and as hotel guests you’re often the first so it’s less busy on the morning run. We had a family room - one bunk bed and a double bed. Very compact but did the job. The breakfast is really great quality and varied (all self service in a small room that gets quite busy). Again no staff around for this /no front of house so feels a bit un managed but it still works.
The hotel also welcomed public for lunch and dinner and in winter it’s crazy busy. Plates with leftover food piled on the stairs leading to room which is disgusting. They are overwhelmed. Staff not really free to welcome hotel guests although they do reserve tables at dinner for hotel guests. But it feels like feeding time at the zoo!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, best frittes ever. Breakfast lived up to its high reputation, exceptional. The location was great with fantastic views. Highly recommend.

The place want obviously through some renovation activities quite recently and as much as it looks like a typical mountain hut from the outside, the rooms are pretty modern, while the restaurant downstairs kept its Bavarian or Alpine look.
