The staff were really nice. We arrived late, calling to organise an after-hours check-in was really easy and the system was well laid out and very secure. The location was great and the buildings were really clean with plenty of parking. The bathroom gave me inspiration for a renovation at home. The kitchenette was well done really usable for a quick breakfast or a quick dinner. There was the standard complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits along with paid mini bar options. The price of the room was good for the size and quality of the room. Will definitely stay again if needing to stay in Goulburn.

We made a last minute booking for an overnight stop on our way back from Victoria, and were mainly looking for something comfortable, clean and conveniently located - the Abbey ticked all of those boxes. Our ground floor room was generously sized and had a lovely courtyard overlooking the cathedral. The decor / furnishing was new and very tasteful, with a modern bathroom. The room was impeccably clean. Although we didn’t need it for our very short stay, I liked that the room had some basic kitchen facilities (sink, microwave, crockery, cutlery etc) which would be useful if you were staying longer and didn’t want to dine out for every meal. Check-in hours are shorter than usual (closes at 6pm) but the after-hours check-in arrangements were very simple so this wasn’t an issue for us. If we ever need to stay in Goulburn again, I would happily book here again!

The only thing I didn’t like was the difficultly I had getting in contact with the motel directly over the phone. They use an off-site (overseas?) call Centre for bookings and enquiries, which was frustrating when I was making a last minute booking and needed to speak to someone at the motel with specific questions that the call-Centre operator couldn’t answer or understand. I eventually got in contact, but only after a bit of wasted time.

Location was very good especially being next door to the Rose Cafe. The room had a very good layout and was well appointed. Parking arrangements are very good and safe.

The bathroom layout was not very practical. Water from the shower went everywhere as there was not separation between the bathroom and the shower. The markings for the hot and cold on the taps was difficult to read and it took experimentation to work out which way to turn them to get the right temperature. Not very good for the environment as it resulted in wasted water and initially got and doze of hot then cold water when entering the shower in the first instance.

The communication with the Abbey team was wonderful, they were so helpful assisting me with a late check-in and made it a seamless process. The room was immaculate and the bedside lamps were thoughtfully turned on so that I wasn’t walking into a dark room and they had also turned the split system on to make the room a comfortable temperature. Thoughtful inclusions in the fridge and bathroom, and the team were also so helpful with recommending great local places for dinner and breakfast, all within walking distance. The parking and property were secure, making me feel very at ease.

Nothing not to love!

We had a truly lovely stay at The Abbey Motel. The room was modern, clean, spacious and incredibly comfortable. The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to the main street, shops, and restaurants. Having a great café right next door was a bonus. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

The only small issue was that both our room door and bathroom door were quite squeaky, which was a little annoying at night. But overall, it was a fantastic stay and we’d definitely return!

We had the pleasure of staying at The Abbey and it was an exceptional experience. The property’s design is modern and welcoming, with every detail thoughtfully curated to ensure guests feel at home. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and equipped with high-end amenities that added a touch of luxury to the stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches like premium toiletries, a well-stocked minibar, and a large tv. The staff were warm, attentive, and eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It was located within the CBD, walking distance for a meal and next door to a lovely cafe. We would definitely stay again.

We always stay here when we are driving to melbourne. The facilities are always clean and comfortable access and check in is simple and the staff are friendly. It is a relatively new motel and everything works as it should. The rooms are quite big, it is well positioned in town, close to shops and restaurants. It has never failed to impress and is a welcome break after driving for 10 hours.

It's a beautiful motel and we will definitely be booking there again on our family trips. We actually thought the photos didn't do the place justice and it was even better than we were expecting. Exceptionally clean and fresh and had a boutique hotel feel. Convenience to the great cafe next door was amazing and near to town and the adventure park for our kids. The cleaning staff were also very warm and kind as we were checking out of our room.

I had mentioned online through the booking system that we needed a cot but that was missed somehow. We had our own so was not a problem.

Great location off the main street with ample free parking and next door to the very good Roses cafe, where we had a lunch and a breakfast. Hotel is a new building but constructed sympathetic to heritage buildings around it. Our room was a larger size than most hotel rooms, with a kitchenette and full sized refrigerator and dishwasher, and large bathroom. Very soft, plush mattress, lounge, dining table and chairs and TV had foxtel. Airconditioning was on warming our room on arrival (there was a September Arctic Blast hitting the state at the time) and the room was perfectly cosy all night. The ladies at reception gave a warm and friendly welcome and check in and out was a breeze. Will definitely stay here again if opportunity arises, and would be especially ideal for a stay of a few days with the excellent setup of the kitchenette.

Not a single thing to note.

The Abbey Motel rates 11/10 from us. On arrival we were greeted warmly by staff and the presentation of our room was exceptional. Nothing has been overlooked in the amenities put into the rooms eg. all switches labelled, crockery & cutlery provided as well as a sink in the kitchenette area. A very comfy bed and a lovely little balcony with outdoor furniture. The location is perfect - just around the corner from the Main Street and within walking distance to everything. We recommend doing the self guided heritage walking tour around town. It is very good value for money. Roses cafe next door is an added bonus - delicious food and a pleasure to behold when you walk in. We highly recommend that your next stay is at The Abbey in Goulburn.
