Shingu is a small city (population around 33,000), but spread out. I found it difficult to match my "travelling by public transport" needs and was glad I selected this hotel. Staff are welcoming and very helpful. Facilities while older, offer a change from the Japanese chain hotels in which I've previously stayed. Shingu rail station and bus terminal are a flat 15-minute walk if you want to do that. Orestia Trenta, an Italian bar restaurant, is next door. A Family Mart is across the road, and a little beyond the Karaoke Club Dam, there's a large EverGreen supermarket. Hotel has bicycles for guest use and laundry facilities.

The breakfast buffet was included. They had an ice dispenser. Free parking behind the building. Right next to a Family Mart and a supermarket.

The door to the rooms don't have an autolock, you have to remember to lock them which I wasn't in the habit of doing. Definitely a security risk in my opinion. The shower pressure wasn't great and the extractor fan in the bathroom is way too loud (there's no separate switch for the fan).

The staff were very friendly on check-in, and there was a lot of English information printed in the room information and around the hotel. The room was a good size, and the bed was warm and comfortable.

The breakfast was just OK, but there wasn't much choice, it was more like a salad plate at lunch time. I couldn't find a knife either, so I was spreading jam with a spoon (that's on me for not asking though). The sink and bathtub in the room was a bit damaged, although it didn't affect the usage.

Stayed for two nights. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good and varied each day, which was a nice touch. The free laundry facilities were especially appreciated after hiking the Kumano Kodo, though the dryer didn’t work very well. The location is convenient—close to the bus stop and train station, restaurants, and grocery stores. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay.

The room was spacious and clean and it had everything I needed for a peaceful night. The staff were very kind and welcoming and they lent me an umbrella when I went out for a walk.

I wish the staff had informed me of the free bikes and the free washing/drying facilities. I didn’t find out until it was late in the evening and after walking all over the city. A bike ride would have made a big difference and I could have washed my clothes after my long walk too.

Air conditioner worked great! Basic disposable amenities (toothbrush, razor, teas, etc) were available, laundry machines were free but without detergent (I brought my own anyway), buffet breakfast was pretty good. Location near a bus stop was all I needed from the locale.

Initially the air purifier I borrowed smelt of smoke (probably used on the smoking floors at some point?)

Breakfast was included and was buffet-style with lots to choose from and overall very tasty. It also starts early (6:30 am) which is very convenient. Location was a bit far from the train station (about a 10-15 min. walk), but only a couple blocks from bus stops that can be used for going to and from Hongu as well as Nachi and Kii-Katsuura stations. A Family Mart is right across the street and a Sukiya is only a few blocks away. The room was bigger than your average business hotel. Excellent value for your money.

A bit noisy (thin walls). A bit worn-down. Not quite as clean as it could be. Window can’t be opened at all, and it was rather overheated in the room.

The room was big and comfortable, the convenience store (Family Mart) is just in the front of hotel. Near to AEON and restaurant (Mos Burger, Hamazushi, komeda cafe etc), very convenient environment.

The rest room isn’t properly clean 😣, there are some stains.

Excellent service, nice room, the free washing machines and bikes are very useful, there is a convenient store just crossing the street and a very nice restaurant next to the hotel

Perfect for a one night stay. Had everything that we needed and although we didn’t use them there was bikes available to use. We walked to all the main sights from the hotel.15 minute walk from train station.

Room was a little warm as it was centrally air conditioned it was however an exceptionally hot day.. Breakfast was a bit limited for our Western taste but probably perfect for most other travellers.
