Having the beach at your doorstep while staying at Golden Star makes this hotel a wonderfully relaxing experience. With an absolutely fabulous restaurant serving food by the waterfront, there really is no reason to leave the hotel grounds during your stay. The food we experienced during our stay, both for lunches and dinners, was absolutely top-quality with a vast array of choices from perfectly-cooked traditional Greek dishes to bar snacks and fast-food. Something for everyone. The breakfast buffet offered lots of choice with cooked items, pastries, fruits and coffee options. The hotel staff are friendly and hard-working (a special mention to Anna who waited on our table in the evenings, she was always polite and helpful).

Facilities were nice and clean, all the staff were really social, positive and friendly, beach was excellent with free sunbeds and generally very clean shore, breakfast was fine and varied enough, and the location of the hotel is super as restaurants, shops, markets, bars, and water bus to Thessaloniki were really close and getting to or back from the city or vineyards nearby with taxi (uber) or bus were handy and cheap.

Not much to complain, the ac in the hotel room was so efficient that it was really hard to find settings with which it would have been optimal through the night and it would have been nice to have a remote control to the ac.

The room was excellent with a beautiful sea view. The breakfast was fantastic with everything you could imagine.

The service at the hotel restaurant on the beach was of varying quality. It was impossible to eat at the restaurant during the first few days. The restaurant was practically empty. Four waiters were staring down at their phones and walking around with earpieces. But no one wanted to take an order, and it was completely impossible to pay. However, on the last day (Sunday), there was a different staff, and the service was fantastic. It was possible to order food and pay without any problems.

we stayed in the one bedroom and living room apartment, which was great for us, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, small but handy kitchen (with a dish washer and a coffee machine!) and great terrace with jacuzzi and sunset view . The room was awesome, a weird design with glass window to the shower but o guess that’s to see the view while showering. The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was ok, not the best in my opinion but the kids found something to eat. Location wise this resort is far from central Thessaloniki and so every taxi was expensive, if you’re traveling with kids or want to be in the center it’s better to take a closer hotel or rent a car, minimum for a taxi was 25€ for one way!. All in all our room was great

we had a great experience at Golden Star Hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. Our suite was clean, stylish, and very comfortable, with a beautiful sea view that made the stay even more special. Breakfast was fresh and varied, and enjoyed it. The location is right by the beach and just a short drive from Thessaloniki’s centre. Overall, a perfect mix of comfort, great service, and stunning views. Highly recommend!

the ocean water was cold, so it would have been nice to have a swimming pool in the hotel. but we knew there isnt

Location, size and comfort level of room, excellent breakfast, staff attitude, beach and facilities (bar/restaurant, sunbeds), toiletries in bathroom, aircon in room. They were able to check us in early (11:30) and packed us breakfast on our last day on request because of early check out due to our flight.

Just a suggestion: mosquito nets on the balcony door would probably be appreciated by many. Also, the sunbed-system was not easy to understand first (some require minimum consumption while others are free) - maybe put some info on this in the rooms as not all staff speaks good English and we were a bit confused at first.

Great location, waterfront. Breakfast was great. Bed was very comfortable. I've stayed here a few times.

Unfortunately sometimes one staff member's behavior has an impact on the whole experience . Although I've stayed here before I did not encounter such behavior previously. I am not going to go into the issue because that is one person's ignorance and that should not be the only reason to dismiss a business. But it is the reason for not giving an excellent rating. Every staff member in a business is representing the brand of the business, not just themselves and that should never be taken lightly. Customer Service is a must it's survival of the fittest.

The sea was right in front of us, the bed was huge and comfortable and offered a pillow menu and the breakfast buffet offered some nice local specialties. The bathroom products were of good quality and were also offered on sale. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Overall good experience and I recommend the property.

The ventilation or drainage in the bathroom didn't work well and there was a constant unpleasant smell. The room cleaning started relatively early and was quite noisy so we were woken up earlier than intended. Parking space in the garage was limited and already full when we arrived and public parking nearby was also scarce. Given the low season, we found the property a bit overpriced.

Perfect stay. As seen in photos, the hotel is on the beach, very near to the pier where the sea buses for Salonic are stopping.  It was very clean , with rooms daily serviced, cosmetics of very good quality and a powerful air conditioning. The breakfast is amazing. It is ment to satisfy all kind of guests: europeans, americans or british. Very rich in products and choices.The hotel has also a good resturant with gourmet cuisine at good prices and a great selection of greek wines of top quality. The bar serves various cocktails and many kind of coffee. The personnel is very atentive, present each time you would need anything and always very kind. On the private beach the sun bed are free and enough for all clients; beach towels are practically free( 10 euro guarantee fully refundable ) It is a very well managed hotel, convenient situated at only 20 minutes from the airport . It suites for both a " get tan"  vacation or to discover the beautiful town of Thessaloniki which is not far by bud, car, bus or sea bus.

Everything is perfect.

It was such a relaxing stay. It’s easy to reach by taxi from the airport or boat from Thessaloniki. The breakfast choices were fantastic and the beach belonging to the hotel was perfect. Everything was very clean and staff helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully decorated. I should note that I changed rooms from one beside the staircase to another one and was very grateful for the opportunity.
