Right in the Maribor's city center - in the pedestrian zone, so geeting there by car can be a little challenging. In fact, we missed the instructions how to get to the hotel's parking lot (unblocking the city's posts on the way in) - but we parked just outside the pedestrian zone, no more than 3min walk and haven't seen the need to re-park. So location-wise - it was a perfect spot for a short city-break. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Nothing to complain about. WiFi worked great.

The lack of AC was a bit of disappointment - I haven't checked it before, just assumed it would be available. Fortunately the room's windows looked out on the quiet courtyard, so open window + fan made a quite comfortable night. I missed the power sockets in one of the rooms - especially that places for them were visible on the wall. We had to charge phones/laptop in the kids' room.

This is the best tranquil hostel I've been in so far. I didn't expect this. The reason may be that it's a part of a hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, the location is perfect and value exceeds the price. If you want a quiet and comfortable place in the city's heart, this is the right place for you.

There is nothing particularly bad but I can make a suggestion. You should add a table to each room. There is a lot of space inside but no desks to put stuff on it.

We liked the beds, they were so comfortable to sleep on that I don't think we wanted to get out of them. The location of the hotel is also great, right on the square, and yet there was no noise from tourists or cafes. The food that was included as breakfast met our expectations, it was delicious, hot and varied.

We didn't like the fact that as hotel guests, we should have had parking included in the price, and not have to pay an additional 11 euros per night. However, I can say that although the hotel did not provide us with parking, the city itself offers great parking opportunities, both in multi-storey garages and on the streets (with payment via an app or at the parking meters themselves).

UNI hostel is more like a hotel than a hostel. There's 24-hour reception, rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily. Dorm beds are solid, sheets pristine and fluffy towels. I appreciated that reception changed my room so that I could have a bottom bed. There's a mini-kitchen, which can get crowded when more than 2 want to cook. It's also in a small space with no window, so there's really no large common area to relax, meet other guests, or eat together, as the tables in the kitchen are also mini. There is a small book-sharing corner next to reception.

It would be good to have a labelling system with name and departure date for the fridge, as well as a labelled shelf for 'free' food. It's not clear whether oil and sugar is provided or is for private use.

Very well located in the historical heart of the city! It was also a very well-furnished room for a hostel, with shower gel and towels included in the stay. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service!

My main issue is that there was only one light in the (relatively large) room, and it did not shine upon the desk or the bed area. Since I was there for a work trip, this made it hard to do work at my desk. I also like to read before bed and this wasn't possible due to the lack of light. The wifi was also patchy around the bed.

It was all we needed, it was in the epicentre of the city, everything was close to where we had stayed . Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

it was a little too busy, there were some noises that made us hard to rest. The other reason is that we had two single beds and we were not comfortable sleeping , a french bed would have been better.And we missed the access to a kitchen or fridge that we could use, that would have been very helpful

I booked on short notiice and was happy to get a booking. The room was very clean and the linens of high quality. I also appreciated the 11:am checkout time. It allowed me time to enjoy the town in the morning without carrying my luggage around.

The one minor detraction was that the room was quite warm. If it has air conditioning, it was not working well. I opened the windows and turned the overhead fan on for the night. I should mention that this Summer has been exceptionally hot, so I can't criticise the management or staff on this issue.

The 24/7 check in was really helpful since I arrived late. The staff was very nice. Room was simple but had everything that I needed for a good stay. Right in the city centre, impossible to have a better location.

The room was incredibly hot, even with the fan on all day. The walk from the lobby to the room was quite excessive, but I clearly was unlucky with the room number.

I first stayed in this hotel/hostel about 17 years ago, and it was good then and it's good now. Great value for money for a city centre hotel, particularly as all the other hotels in the centre of Maribor are way overpriced for what you get. Overall it is a nice, comfortable hotel with excellent staff and customer service.

Everything was good, apart from the noise in the corridor that could be heard through the room door. I think they need to get some more soundproofing or thicker doors to fix this, particularly as there was some renovation work going on in the morning.

The location is great! Just a few steps from all the main spots of the city. Very close to the bus station and the railway station. The room was very nice, big enough for four people, with several windows and very silent. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very clean indeed.

It is way more a hotel, than a hostel. This may sound a good aspect, though. But, in a hostel there is usually a place where you meet people and start chatting randomly. So, that could be a deal breaker for somebody. The room vas very far from the reception (not a problem, just to inform you if you have a very heavy luggage). The whole structure should have a better wayfinding system, you can get lost easily!
