Very good location, clean, beautiful property.

Reception, I introduced myself, told them that I had to check in. Called the receptionist by her name and asked her how she was doing. I pulled the chair and sat down, introduced myself. I wondered why i had to pay for being nice to someone. Myself and my friend came to take a break and visit Chennai for 2 days. We both were tired from travel as we were up most of the night watching movie and next day morning boarding the flight. I was very disappointed as I never felt welcomed at the front reception. Not every thing can be bought through money! But a kind heart and a smile makes anyone’s day even if you don’t know the language. Attitude is the game in hospitality industry and just not a certificate or work experience. Highly disappointed!!

The decor, the ambiance and the behaviour of the hotel staff.

The dinner items were not properly named. For example 1) they were offering "Beef" in the name of "tenderloin" which means soft meat from the sides of any animal. They didn't mention it was beef and the most surprising of all was that, they were ignorant of the meaning of the word "tenderloin". 2) They were also offering some meat item as "Lal Mas" which means "Red meat" in Hindi. It didn't mention whether the meat was beef, pork, lamb or goat. These are absolutely not expected from Taj Hotel

The staff was responsive and helpful — they moved us to a quieter, renovated floor after we raised a concern. The renovated rooms were more comfortable. While they’re not fully finished with all the bells and whistles yet, they already look promising and will likely be even better once everything is completed. The restaurants were fantastic, with great food and ambiance. Breakfast was very good — not a huge variety, but more than sufficient and of good quality.

Our initial room was on the 3rd floor, where renovation work on the floor above caused noise and disturbance. The breakfast spread could have had a bit more variety.

A very good stay as always with Taj. The reception and concierge staff were extremely helpful to help resource some information and amenities that I needed. The room was very comfortable and the all facilities in place. Happy to see the upgrade in bathrooms with latest world class amenities.

I really like the Club Lounge access that Taj provides when you select that package but it was disappointing that the same feature was not upto standard as in their other properties. it would help to have a more spacious club lounge area. Also having more experienced and warm staff at the Club lounge will make a big difference.

I primarily chose Taj Coromandel due to its proximity to Apollo Hospital as we travelled to Chennai for medical reasons. Over the days and weeks, Taj has become a home away from home to me and my family. The comfort of the rooms is perfect for my mum’s recovery, the food options are great and allow plenty of variety during our extended stay, but above all, the warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff is endearing and very much make us feel like we are amongst family. I don’t have enough words to say how we appreciate everyone’s smiles and words of support. Everyone goes out of their way to make things easier for us. Thank you to the F&B team with special thanks to Parul, John, Asen, Subbu, Kuppu, Suresh, Dhanasekar and Chef Jerry. Thank you to Ariva at the front desk, to Guru, Kailash and the housekeeping team, to Sherina and the Concierge team and also to Logan, Joseph and Yuvaraj at the main entrance for their welcoming smiles each time we return to the hotel. Each and everyone of you is making our stay a memorable one. You are such an asset to Taj and we wish you all the best. We will remember all of you with much fondness.

The breakfast was simply superb with a good variety. Sadly I was vegetarian due to prayers that I was doing at that time. The vegetarian food was wonderful especially the "ponggal soru" with the "Gun Powder podi". I found the waiters and waitresses attentive and obliging. I must make special mention of Ms Ariva at the Front Desk who was not only professional and so friendly but very helpful and ensured that our check-in and check-out was such a pleasant experience. I would also like to make special mention of Mr Divaker who was in charge of room-cleaning at the 3rd Floor during my visit. My wife and I were so surprised to find an "Uruli" with all the foot relaxing spa ingredients to help soak our tired feet after a long day of shopping. Also the way he tidied up the room by arranging the footwear and our toiletries was just amazing. Kudos to them.

The only issue we had was the noise coming from one of the rooms at our floor which was undergoing renovations/repairs where there was severe drilling and knocking sounds. In such situations maybe Taj could have left the floor empty or provided a huge discount for those who were willing to stay with the noise.

I had an exceptional stay at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai! The entire experience was seamless, thanks to the outstanding staff. Check-in with Mr. Ankit was efficient and welcoming. The housekeeping team was lovely, attentive, and catered to our every need. In-room dining was impeccable - our customized orders were delivered promptly, and the food was delicious! The breakfast spread was scrumptious, with a wide range of options. The staff ensured our orders were prepared to perfection, always with a smile. Checkout with Shreya was equally efficient. Kudos to the Taj Coromandel, Chennai, for raising the bar on hospitality! The Taj group's services have truly excelled at this property.

Even in the best hotels in the world something can go wrong, and that's when the hotel is really being under test, how they deal with a problem. This was one of these cases and the hotel took care of me and was above and beyond in professionalism. We take it as granted as it is a Taj hotel, but I'm glad to say it did live to its reputation. The Taj club team is wonderful as usual, the Head Chef and the Evening head chef was exceeding my expectations and special thanks to the director of hosts (Mr Sitrij I think, but I'm butchering his name and his title) that took care of me personally.

Great hotel, good ambience, friendly and helpful staff. A special mention of Satesh the driver, staff at Anise Kuppusamy, Bala who were very kind and looked after us well. The chef Jabaraj for kindly taking the trouble to share a recepi of one of his dishes. The room was very comfortable, very clean and bed was super comfortable... slept very well.

Checking in takes too long. With pre-booked details of the guest it should be much shorter. Unlike Anise, the dinner at Southern spices was a little disappointing. The vegetable thali was disappointing compared to outside. Check out at 8 am was also disappointing as the bill for the night dinner as well as the bill for the transport to the airport had not been sent over. We paid the extras but received a call enroute to airport that there was a shortfall. We had to make the payment on return. It caused us some inconvenience that could have been avoided if your check out service was more efficient. Otherwise a great hotel.

The attentiveness and compassion of the staff was unparalleled and a special shout out to Jasmin and Mr. Rao at the front desk!! The entire staff from checkin to breakfast service , housekeeping, bell staff were simply superb in their helpfulness and attention to detail.. the breakfast is one of the best!! We visited their fisherman’s wharf property for high tea and left out bag accidentally at this property. When we notified the Taj Coromandel staff of this accident, they promptly contacted the sister property and coordinated the return of our laptop bag to the airport directly ! So so thankful to everyone
