The hotel is very old with complete service and right in the middle of the old town. If you come in first they may have a parking slip for you but we parked in the paid parking already so didn't use theirs. The restaurant for dinner was quite popular and every meal we had there was delicious and the servers were helpful and kind. Breakfast was great with all the French specialties. The woman at reception was lovely and helpful. The bed was quite comfortable and had a mountain town look to it. Garfield the cat downstairs paid us a visit which was great because we missed our pets. (summer visit & just passing through)

The back of the doors (esp. the barn door to bathroom) needed to be vacuumed/dusted. The shower gets water all over if you aren't extra careful. The room was smaller than I expected. Minor stuff though because the bed was so comfortable and that was the biggest point, we were out hiking most of the time anyway.

The location in a 14th century building in the old town was fantastic. The restaurant was closed for a staff holiday break so we dined elsewhere. Our room was on the top floor with two windows looking down on the street at the back of the building and surrounding rooftops. The decor in the stairway was unsual and quirky. Lots of deer! The red stair carpet and wooden handrails added to the atmosphere. Our room was large and comfortable, with a modern bathroom and separate toilet. We had a very peaceful night, with the windows open to let some cool air in. The auberge is a top spot. I rate it very highly. We left our car in paid parking at Parking Blanchard overnight but noticed on an evening walk a sign saying that the auberge has lock-up garage and you can ask for the key at reception. We enjoyed our stay at the auberge immensely. Briancon is a fascinating place with lots of history.

Our room had a couple of shallow steps in the floor. Just something to watch out for.

The location in the Medieval town was excellent.

It was confusing for parking. The directions get you to a boom gate that is reserved for residents. It will not let you in. I think if they could change their directions to the car park where they want you to park would be good. For anyone reading this. Park in the car park just above the roundabout at the main entrance. Once inside the main gate follow the Main Street down the hill about a third of the way. The accommodation is off the street on the right (sign on the brick wall of a building). Once checked in they will give you a ticket to place on the dashboard of your car to allow free parking overnight. The car park is free for the first half an hour when you arrive and only about 6-8 minute walk to your accommodation. Take only a carry bag the streets are steep and cobblestone.

It was exactly what I was looking for, a simple, historic, cozy, clean well-run hotel in the old part of the city. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us into our room hours before the stated check-in time as soon as a room was available. The room was small but had everything I needed, including coffee and tea-making facilities, lighting, outlets and USB ports on both sides of the bed. The small restaurant was very good for lunch and dinner as well as the breakfast buffet.

Full compliment of bread, croissants, jam, cheese, ham and boiled eggs. Old Briancon centre is a delight with boutique shops and a excellent free art museum in the centre. Well worth a visit.

Satnav took us to barrier at entrance to the old part of the town. We didn't notice sign saying to contact hotel for access number. Ended up squeezing through narrow streets to find hotel entrance which was not far from original barrier. Would be helpful if booking.com or hotel had messaged directions and access code.

Clean, comfortable, quiet room. The inn was a very short walk from the most amazing panoramic view. Dinner available on site, even for a vegan.

Limited breakfast offering for a vegan: bread, jam and fruit. It would have been nice if some alternative milk had been available so that I could have had some cereal.

Awesome location inside the old city walls. Access is a little trickywith a vehicle, but the property sent instructions shortly after I booked. Room was a modern update within the old city. Loved the usb port on one of the outlets for charging. And the shower was one of the larger ones I have had in Europe.

A charming little hotel in the old town of Briancon. Not a big place, and with small cozy rooms, something that must be expected in these old buildings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is free on the main parking lot outside the gates - do not try to drive inside the old town. You get a “free parking” note to put in the car window. Nice breakfast.

Great location, restaurant downstairs lovely, staff helpful, room pretty good

It's not clear which carpark to use until you arrive. Note that it's the caroark above the old Town (dont drive into the old town) then walk to the hotel and get a sticker for your dashboard. Also no air con or fan so pretty hot

Cozy room in a great location in the old town. Breakfast was very good and the house cat was very friendly. Beds comfortable and room big enough for all of our luggage.

Was a little tricky to figure out where the nearest parking was. Floors in our room were exceptionally creaky- but I couldn't hear other rooms.
