Everything great, but a little far out for centre & taxi was 30 euros return, as two women on own we felt area unsafe to walk round, Hotel we could not fault ..Ferry 10-15 min walk but heat was too much to walk , so taxi required also.

Breakfast was great, every morning, tasty and lots of choices, bathroom was decent sized, full service restaurant for dinner was good as well, we did use room service one night for a late dinner, not good due to our choice. easy walk to shopping and food from the hotel, train station is walkable but not recommended if you have luggage...

The bed was just about as firm as it could be, by far not comfortable and not my favorite

Great value for a money for a 4 star hotel. Nice to be outside the historic centre of Naples but still within easy reach of public transport. Metro stop just 5 minutes away on foot and bus/tram stops within 5 minutes also, in both directions. Surrounded by a myriad of local shops/butchers/cafeterias and being on the Marina main street, you are sure to get an authentic experience of Naples.

Few things to complain about but not really about the hotel itself. Maybe more variety at breakfast could be offered but I was personally not bothered by it. Area tends to be a bit edgy at night but nothing out of the ordinary for the region.

Friendly, helpful staff, especially the hard-working receptionists Vincenzo and Daniela. Location was very good: a few minutes' walk from Duomo metro station. Room was well-sized. Great selection at breakfast. The evening restaurant service was good as well.

The room would have been more comfortable if the centrally-set temperature were a degree or two higher. (The catch in a central approach is that you can't please everybody!) The water taps were rather fiddly... sometimes simple designs work better.

We liked everything at this hotel, location was perfect, very close to the city center, rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, from the beginning of our conversation they answer very quickly and provide all information we needed. Very kind girl at our check in, she give us an excellent recommendation for the dinner. We'll recommend this hotel to everyone and when we visit Naples again, we'll stay here for sure.

An coffee maker would be great to have at the room.

Excellent location - just a short walk to metro station, train station, the port, local restaurants, and a supermarket. The room was modern and clean, with comfortable beds and great sound insulation which keeps outside noise to a minimum (we were there when FC Napoli became Italian champions, and the partying went on the whole night, but no sound came into room 😉 ).

Quick stop pre ischia holiday - was a good hotel close to port and with good sound proofing from the road

Roof garden could have been less empty - more plants please it looked abandoned

The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning was a mixture of pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats, and cheeses. They even have a bar where they will make your coffee order. The shower was incredible- large and had great water pressure (best shower of our 3 week trip!). I was initially worried about the location, but it was a very easy walk to anywhere we wished to go in Naples and approximately 20 minute walk to the train station. I never felt unsafe walking near the hotel. You have the option to take man streets that are well lit and busy to return late at night.

The bed was a bit hard, but that is our only complaint.

The staff were fantastic especially Vincenzo and Diego. Vincenzo made us feel very welcome when we arrived and gave us lots of information about the local area. I lost my bracelet while I was in Naples and Diego searched the Dining room for me. We couldn't find it but the next morning at breakfast Diego enquired if I had found the bracelet or not. I thought that was incredibly kind. The breakfast was excellent and there were lots of options. Our room was clean and spacious. It looked exactly like it was advertised. The air conditioning was excellent. The Hotel is located perfectly if you want to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi as we did.

The Hotel is located in a very dirty part of the city. We didn't realise how dirty Naples would be until we got there and we were quite shocked by this. However don't let this put you off staying as the Hotel itself is spotlessly clean and we felt safe in the area. The WiFi was very poor at times. The Dining room is open in the evenings but some of the food was not as fresh as we would have expected and we did wonder if it was microwaved. The mattress could also do with being changed as it was clear the springs are gone. If you turned over in your sleep the sound could wake you. These are small things that can be fixed. So we would still recommend that you stay in the Palazzo Salgar.

Plenty of choice however the English style breakfast needed a bit more variety as it was very limited in choice to the same 4 items every day

We had a suite with a balcony but when we arrived at our room we only had 6 clothes hangers between us, which was rectified very swiftly by reception, plus the rooms were of a good size but no drawer storage anywhere just open areas which of course meant items became Dusty very quickly
