How great to have such a clean, cosy, and well appointed apartment. Easy to get to, standalone, and the only rental on this property. Warmly welcomed by hosts in communication and also the way the apartment is set up. Everything you need, down to ice already made in the freezer. Lovely selection of French press coffee and tea, and the chocolates were a lovely touch. Extra heater provided for those cooler evenings, but the beds were super warm and the bathroom with heated tiles. So happy to have had time here, and I had some rainy weather and was very happy to have an inside day. Excellent, fast WiFi, and a great kitchen/bench. My choice to stay in Twizel compared to Tekapo was the right one, very close to drive into Mt Cook National Park, and a short trip from the beautiful Lake Pukaki.

A great little cottage surrounded by beautiful snowy mountains and sunsets. The owners have put alot of love into this place to make it warm and inviting. Extra little touches like milk, cold drinking water and chocolates were a nice addition 😀. Laundry facilities (washer and dryer) were a big help to us after a day of exploring Mt Cook National Park. Well equipped kitchen.

Would be great if the microwave was more visible as I only realised there was one on the last day 😅 I was still able to heat food in the oven, so not a big issue.

Overall this is great value for money, considering the prices charged in the surrounding area and further out at Tekapo. The house was comfortable and had all the mod-cons you would need for a trip in rural NZ. This includes a hot shower, a washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen. It was also very clean and warm with a heat pump available in the living room area. Also really appreciative of the owner who warmly greeted us on arrival and told us that due to public works, water would not be available for late next morning. This gave us plenty of options to work around it - thanks!

The ventilation fan in the bathroom may need replacement, it sounds really rough when running. One of the beds was a bit too soft for my friend's liking.

Wonderful place, very clean and pleasant place to stay. The wash machine on the property was a super bonus as I am riding my bicycle and generating dirty clothes every day. Great place to hang laundry on the patio. Full sized refrigerator/freezer that was helpful for storing food for meals. Covered car port.

I had a little trouble with the directions to the property that were sent to me. Normally I look up the address of my accommodation on Google Maps and write out my own directions, but I went with the directions given to me. I will use this as a reminder to do my own research and make my own directions EVERY time.

It’s very spacious, too much for just a couple but we are not complaining. There is a washing machine and a laundry room with a dryer next door. Cool to have „your own“ house - coming with a carport and a small yard. Twizel is a very quiet township (with almost no light smog - if you like to stargaze).

Be aware Twizel is a bit off. So we preferred cooking ourselves over the selection of restaurants.

Host are very considerate, he provides clip wrapper and aluminum foil, it help as we need to prepare sandwiches for next day Mt cook hike. We enjoyed stargazing in the yard and we were lucky to see the Southern lights outside the house. Host has prepared a Notebook to share the story of the house and for guests to leave comment. This is unique and thoughtful.

would be good to have a dustbin in the toilet.

The small apartment was clean and we'll furnished. Kitchen, large sofa and TV. We had 2 rooms with a queen bed in each. There was only one air conditioner/heating unit in the living room. No heating in the bedrooms, though it was warm enough. Sheets were clean. Sheltered car porch right outside the apartment. The complimentary chocolates were a nice touch. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend it.

The bathroom was a little smaller than usual. The dryer was outside the room. No hot water to the kitchen sink. All small things. A few more hooks inside the bathroom would be nice.

Really clean and new house. The size is small but cozy. Location is a bit off center of town but still an easy drive to supermarket and restaurants etc. can see the lovely stars at night.

The shower didn’t drain well as it would overflow out of the toilet.

Exceeded my expectations! Everything was perfect — the accommodation was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary facilities. The staff were extremely friendly, and it’s conveniently located close to the grocery store and restaurants. Highly recommended!

A fabulous cottage, clean, comfortable, with everything one could want provided. The patio was a lovely private place to chill. Twizel itself is small but with good facilities and an excellent supermarket. An easy walk from the cottage to the shops and restaurants. Easy driving distance to the lakes and Mt Cook. Loved our time here.
