We used Casa Sakiwa as a base camp between climbing huts for almost 2 weeks. It turned out to be a little home away from home. The property is beautiful, and the location is perfect. Machachi was a great little town to spend our rest days grabbing a steak and an icecream in. The owner and staff of the hotel are so helpful, Pao helped us with a gazzilion things like transport, park access, laundry, ect. Over all it was such great value and has my full recommendation.

The hotel was amazing. The owner was incredibly nice and attentive, the rooms were clean and very nice and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi. Next to the hotel is a small park and on the night we were there a public Zumba class was held there. From our room we had a great view of the mountains.

The only things we didn't really liked had nothing to do with the hotel: the city of Machachi isn't the most attractive town and we had a hard time finding a good restaurant in vicinity.

Staying at this hotel feels like being welcomed home by your family. Great value for money, spacious room with a beautiful view to Cotopaxi and excellent location, just around the corner from the main road with several restaurants nearby, are among its excellent features, but the breakfast stands out for the kindness and care of the lady who will set the buffet and prepare eggs a la carte for you and who will remind you of your grandmother almost inevitably. The hotel manager was just as kind and helpful. I wish we had stayed longer.

The remote control did not work in our room, but we did not even bothered to ask for a new remote because we were just enjoying the view to Cotopaxi and resting. Had we done so, I am sure that the manager would have solved the problem. We just did not want to bother her because she was so kind to us.

The hotel was very nice and Paola was even nicer. she made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was the best we had in all of the 8 places we stayed in Ecuador. The double jacuzzi in our room was super for a soak after our tour. Our tour to Quilotoa was arranged perfectly and our guide was exceptional. We were given a small gift on checkout. Just all the little things were very nice!

There was an over $850 hold placed on our credit card which we were not told about.

Paola is a wonderful host! She goes out of her way to help her guests. It was the third stay I had at Casa Sakiwa and it always feels like coming home after each climb in Cotopaxi National Park. Great breakfast too!

Loved my stay here after hiking the Quilatoa Trail and staying in easier accommodations before. Hotel is on European standards. Shower was hot, restaurants nearby, breakfast was good and good value for money.

This hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. We ate dinner on both nights and the food was very good. They gave us a cute change purse as a gift.

The location was okay. Street noise and the barking dogs at night were less than desirable.

big room, quite, comfortable, very good breakfast with a good selection, great location with big playgrounds next to it for kids, cattle in the room to make some tea in the evenings, hot water and especially the host was great. Paola is the best. She is speaking English and is a great help to organise trips. Overall we really enjoyed staying there.
