The hotel is located in the historic centre of Quito and all major touristic sights are in walking distance. I arrived at 2am at Quito airport and the hotel organised a transfer for me, which was highly appreciated. The breakfast changed every day and was served at the rooftop which offers great views over Quito. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with every request I had. The room was very clean and comfortable and I felt right at home. Value for money is great and if I come back to Quito I would stay here again.

We like everything about it, from the rooms super comfortable, breakfast was amazing fresh fruits and everything was cook as you seat. The location was the best right on the heart of Quito Centro Historico. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was amazing, from Yale to Joel and the cook Mariano. What a beautiful place to enjoy Quito and the view from the room and the rooftop are amazing

Super friendly family run business, in the heart of the historic centre of Quito, a short walk to the main plaza / square. Small but comfortable rooms in a historic building, we found this an excellent place for a short stay. Breakfast is different each day and included. We were also very grateful for a free transfer from the airport (because we stayed a bit longer) and reasonably priced transfers back plus a private transfer to the Equator (where the driver waited while we looked around). Staff were so lovely in helping us with advice for restaurants and things to do. We were also able to get laundry done efficiently and for a reasonable price.

Nothing we didn’t like. It just took us a while to check out because they kept trying to under charge us! Took a little while but we got there in the end ☺️

You have to stay here if you are in Quito and want to stay in the Historic District. Such a great quiet location, with excellent facilities and wonderful bed and beddings. The breakfast on the roof top every morning is wonderful. We stayed for 3 nights and loved exploring this UNESCO area of Quito. Staff so helpful as well. It is a beautiful hotel. Felt so safe our entire time here.

Absolutely nothing except just a note that it is a $30.00 taxi fare from the Quito airport as it is about an hour away. This is not the hotel to stay at that is near the airport.

My stay at Friends was May 2025 as a solo female traveller. As the name suggests, everyone is very friendly, and treated like family. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and suggested place sites to see. The breakfast rooftop view was beautiful, as was the hot, full breakfast. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, the best I've stayed in any hotel.The location is ideal and a short walking distance to Grande Plaza and sites. I highly recommend Friends.

There was nothing I didn't love about Friends Hotel.

What an amazing place. Great location, great staff, fantastic breakfasts which were varied and delicious. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. We used this hotel as a base to come back to after travels throughout Ecuador. It was no trouble for the hotel to store our luggage and our luggage was allways allready in our room on our return each time. What excellent service. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful regards tours and transfers and recommended places to eat. We arranged a number of tours and transport through the hotel and happy with all. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Special thanks to Yale, Mariano, Henry, Christopher, Juanito and Don.

Really friendly an helpfully Employee. Rooms were clean and in a good condition. Breakfast also really good with a nice view.

I think the Hotel is in a good Area (near to all Sightseeings) but I was attacked in front of the Hotel from 2 People with knifes at 8PM.

One of the best overall places I've ever stayed on earth!! The room was amazing. The wifi was great! I'm a college student, so wifi was important and it met my needs. The breakfast and staff were outstanding. I really liked also that I could book day trips from the front desk! Like check this out....when I booked, I booked also because the description said it had a refridgerator in the room....well there wasn't one and I showed them the description on Booking.com and what did they do? They went and bought a brand new refrigerator for the room! Unheard of in todays world. Great Great Great place to stay!!

There was nothing that I didn't like! I'm being completely honest. There was nothing wrong with Friends Hotel & Rooftop.

We had such a wonderful stay at Friends Hotel & Rooftop! Great location, solid breakfast with a beautiful view from the balcony. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful — they truly made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. A special shoutout to Yale, who is an absolute godsend. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and her kindness made our experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this charming spot for anyone visiting Quito!

Cannot recommend this hotel enough! Our entire group was very pleased with our stay, and would certainly book again if we return to Quito. The staff were exceptionally helpful, from arranging car transportation to recommending nearby restaurants. The breakfast was some of the best we have ever had and all our rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is in short walking distance to everything we visited in the historic center. We also loved that the hotel had a nice Ecuadorian feel to it...far above a standard place!
