The location is great, right in the historic center with walking distance to everything. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and have all the necessary supplies. All the rooms are nicely decorated with a local theme. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic: omelettes, fruits, freshly baked bread, cheese, coffee, juices... all fresh and delicious and served on the terrace with a view of Virgin of El Panecillo! The hotel is located in a historic building and feels as a museum full of collectables and beautiful artifacts. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Thank you for welcoming us!

Nothing, all was great!!!

The location is great to explore the historic centre. The room was big and bed comfortable. Pillows were just ok. The street outside was noisy during the day but very quiet after 9pm. The windows have double panels that are working well to keep the noise level at very low. The breakfast was simple but nice. They serve fruit salad and eggs cooked on order.

The hotel has rather dated bathrooms that do not look clean anymore even thou they probably are…the shower curtains look as they have seen better times and could be replaced. But the shower had good pressure and water was hot

This hotel was amazing! They were so responsive prior to my trip, which helped me feel confident and calm before traveling to Quito. My flight got a little delayed, but the fact that I had set up a shuttle through the hotel was so reassuring- I didn't have to hope for a taxi at 10:00pm. I love that they offer that option! The hotel itself was warm and welcoming, everyone who worked there was super friendly, even with a small language barrier, and the room itself was beyond what I expected: very spacious, comfortable, and ample storage space. And the free breakfast with a beautiful roof view was a huge bonus!

The only thing I would note is that I wish I was told ahead of time that cash payment was preferred. This would have saved me a trip to find a safe ATM while in Quito, but that's really the only minor negative I have from my time there.

This was a terrific location. Easy to get to food and evening activies as well as to walk to sites of interest during the day. We had a guide meet us here and then we took off by foot to explore the city. The hotel is authentic to the area. I'm not a fan of exploring a country and then heading to a Holiday Inn. I want to experience life here and this hotel is perfect for that. quaint, wonderful homemade breakfast and represented their culture well.

When we arrived on a Friday night, it was dark. The street in front was dark and there was one unilluminated sign over the door. We thought we might be in the wrong place. Upon ringing the bell, the desk clerk came out and welcomed us in. On the other side of the hotel, the streets were busy and fun for a Friday night. Felt like the taxi dropped us off in an alley. Could use better signage.

This is an interesting, quirky and altogether delightful hotel. The senora and her staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large, quiet and comfortable and they served a delicious breakfast. On our first afternoon we asked for some laundry to be done. It was returned 4 hours later and we were charged a fraction of what we had paid in other hotels. They also arranged for our taxi to the airport (paid). The hotel is just around the corner from Calle de Ronda, which has interesting shops and some great restaurants at very good prices. NB we visited in June 2024 and had no issues with safety in that area. You just need to take the same precautions as a tourist that you would anywhere, and there are plenty of police on patrol in Quito.

There was nothing that we didn't like about Casa del Alquemia. I'd go back there tomorrow.

Great small hotel with rooms facing a central courtyard. Our room was large and very clean. The staff was extremely helpful, providing information about things to see and do and how to get there. We celebrated our anniversary at a restaurant recommended by the hotel and had a wonderful dinner. The hotel was within walking distance from everything that we wanted to see and do. It was a great value for the cost. There are a number of restaurants within two blocks of the hotel.

Room was warm in the evening.

The place is as pretty as the pictures. A lovely space to be in. Beds were comfortable and the water was hot. Very limited street noise, very good location. Very good experience sorting out some issues prior to arrival. Thank you Tanya.

Some difficulties communicating with front desk. The night before very early morning departure we were asked to pay cash and told an electronic receipt would be sent. It was not received. On the way to airport we received a call saying we had not paid. That was cleared up quickly. I know I should have insisted on a paper receipt when handing over cash. Breakfast was just ok. Cold, old coffee. Walls are very thin.

The hotel interior is truly beautiful, and its terrace boast an impressive view over the city. The rooms are great, the beds comfortable and there's complementery water. The staff is friendly, helpfull, And breakfast is delicious. To top it all, they charge very reasonable prices for the value.

the hotel management forces clients to pay cash even though their reservation allow them to pay by card. They do that by adding a mysterious tax on credit card payments. This is an issue because most ATMs in quito are empty, not working or really not safe. Furthermore, the client is of course charged when withdrawing money. if it wasn't for these scam-like issue, it would be 10/10

The property was unique and had a lovely feel to it. The decorations and artefacts were interesting and made this a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. We were due to stay at the end of our trip but unfortunately our plans changed so we had to cancel would definetly recommend this hotel.

If you are a light sleeper then this might not be for you but there are shutters that can block out most of the noise from the street.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to travel to Quito. Isaiyas, who took us on our trips outside of Quito was very knowledgeable and it was a great experience for our family to travel with him. Thanks for also helping with airport drop offs. The key was very helpful so we could buzz ourselves in and not have to wait out on the street. Help with laundry was an additional benefit. Wonderful stay, highly recommend :)

Even though breakfast was included, it was hard to find vegan/vegetarian options. Perhaps the breakfast options can be a little more expanded.
