I chose Quito as my base for Ecuador and was looking for a chic, small hotel in the old town for a longer stay. I stayed there for a total of 10 nights (8 were planned, but I added two more on the spur of the moment). My room was on the second floor and was really good for one person, with a private bathroom. Hot water sometimes took a while to arrive but working fine. The internet was really good, stable, and fast. I didn't enjoy breakfast because I was usually out early in the morning. A metro station is only 5 minutes away, from which you can get anywhere. There are also plenty of large and small supermarkets that have everything you need. There is also a laundry service if you want to have your clothes washed during your stay. The room was cleaned every day.

The location was good - on the edge of the historic centre so you are not stuck in any bad areas. The breakfast was good as it is included. The staff were friendly, and were helpful with any requests. The building felt very secure with multiple locked doors to access. Free Netflix was also provided. Bed was comfortable and room size was good for a couple.

The WiFi was a bit patchy in our room. The TV was a bit small and at a strange angle. It could do with some modernising, particularly the bathrooms. The showers were hot for us, once we figured out the hot tap was incorrectly labelled.

I had a great stay here in Quito. The property is walking distance to several of the main sights in the historic center. My flight was delayed and staff were excellent with communication and I was able to check in later no problem. The property is very secure and has locked main entrance and 24 hour desk. My room was very large and had a comfortable bed, big wardrobe, bedside tables, and a small desk and chair. Bathroom was large and functional with a shower. The property had really nice common spaces and a great terrace with incredible views. I would totally stay again.

Everything was great, I wish I had more time there.

Very cosy hotel in a convenient location next to the Independence Square. Its beautiful yard offers nice views to the Virgen del Panecillo and the room had a comfortable bed, and handy furniture and storage space. The staff was really friendly and flexible, they carefully listened to all my requests. Breakfast was tasty.

water temperature in the shower was sometimes unpredictable

This is a fab friendly exceptionally clean Hostel. Beautifully presented in an old colonial house. Breakfast is great. My room delightful and the bed really comfortable!

The area is close to amenities but there is nothing in the actual long street except one (very good) little restaurant. No shops or cafés nearby. The shower never got hot. Water cold (they are going to look into it). If it hadn't been for that it would have been 10/10

I used Rincón as a base in Quito as I travelled to and from various day trips (Mindo, Cotopaxi and Quilotoa), so had numerous bookings and rooms over a week (both solo ane with a friend). The staff were excellent: they were happy to hold onto my bags and provide laundry service even if I wasn't due back at the hotel for a few days. They were very accommodating and it was really appreciated, especially as our plans had to change quite last minute! They also gave me lots of local advice and sights to see. Rincón is ideally located near to the main old town attractions (grande plaza, San Francisco, Basilico del votel nacional). The hostel also felt very safe: there doors off the street were locked and a member of staff was always around to let you in, and the room had its own safe.

The curtains were a little thin so I woke up most days at sunrise. WiFi was ok in our first 2 rooms, but in the 3rd room it didn't really work.

Close to Historical Centre so easy to walk to and from the area. Close to San Fransisco Metro. Clean. Single room had a comfortable double bed, hot showers and clean towels. Helpful and friendly staff. Good price, includes breakfast eggs, bread, cheese, coffee and juice.

Hostal arranged a tour for $120 to market at Otavalo, Laga de San Pablo and Laguna de Cuicocha. I also asked for visit to Parque Condor. Driver very polite and happy to oblige. But didn’t speak English, sadly my Spanish is poor, and his Google Translate didn’t work. So majority of 9 hour tour was in silence. Hostal said if I had a guide who spoke English tour cost would probably increase to $250! But advertises ‘Tour with Guide’. I had an interesting day but no guide to help me understand more. In future will probably have stuck to a cheaper group tour.

Location is just great, near to go to everywhere. And from 3F you could see panecillo. The staff are very friendly.

WiFi is real weak in the room

It's a small centrally located hotel. Really great if you want to stay in the old town as all the restaurants and touristy places are close by. The staff was nice and friendly. They have a nice rooftop terrace too.

Shower is a nightmare. For the first 2-3 minutes the water is boiling hot, then all of a sudden it's freezing cold and it takes between 5 to 10 minutes to warm up. The pillows were very uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay but don't expect much

The room was nicely decorated, but not that big. The hotel was easy to find, and within easy walking distance to attractions. The staff were very friendly, helpful.

When i closed the windows the room would eventually begin to smell of urine/drains. The odour seemed to radiate from the bathroom. So it was a case of sleeping with open windows and more street noise. Non existent wifi .. so i had to use my own data or go downstairs to reception. Breakast was also disappointing .. it was essentially a croissant and some eggs. No fruit or anything remotely healthy
