The hotel is a beautiful historic building stuffed with antiques and art. Our family of 4 stayed in the top floor apartment which was comfortable and beautiful with great views. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Others in our group had individual rooms and were equally happy. Great location in the colonial center but tucked away on a quiet, lovely street. There are several nice restaurant options very nearby and street was safe even in the evenings.

We stayed in the room in the brochure, it was beautiful, warm and full of antiques, art and views to The Angel of Quito. Perfect stay, Breakfasts were always wonderful, chatting to other travelers over eespresso's local fresh fruits and fresh bakery and eggs any style in a wonderful succulent and cactus filled abborrium with views as well. Best King Bedcand best hot water shower ever. Can not say enough how good Casa San Marcos is.

Taxi drivers have problems with finding exact street position but its an easy walk when you know which house it is.

This hotel feels like travelling time. The antiques and period decor are just beautiful, and it is a pleasure to stay in such a historical house, just metres away from the main attractions of Quito old town. Staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We loved our room with its view over the Panecillo hill and the old town.

Minor issues in the beginning of our stay, like having to ask for the hot water to be turned on in our room twice.

The location was very convenient. The hotel decor with all the antiques was visually appealing and gave guests a sense of Quitos past. Staff were very accomadating. The included breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The oversized room with the fabulous view of the city added to our enjoyment. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazingly arty, eccentric and fun hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was huge with a wonderful view. The location was good, in the old town close to Placa Grande. Quiet at night, breakfast had a good choice.

There didn’t seem to be many good restaurants around, away from the main squares. We were the only ones staying ( not such a bad thing actually) and there was some street drilling going on during the day, though of course not the fault of the hotel.

We felt warmly welcomed by Doña Mayra and her dedicated and attentive staff - who were so generous in sharing their expertise on Quito's art, history, and culture, as well as natural and cultural wonders in Ecuador. Doña Mayra and her team made us feel as if we were family. We loved the home cooked breakfasts, stories about Quito's culture and history, and reflections about local art and artists. What an incredible and magical visit. We hope to return to Casa San Marcos soon! In the meantime, we offer our highest recommendation for this truly special property. ¡¡Muchísimas Gracias!!

The whole hotel is so characterful, which is unsurprising given its age and location in the old town. It's like living in a palatial museum. The staff were polite, kind and attentive, notably the old woman serving breakfast who brought me a herbal infusion when she learned that my stomach was upset. The airport transfer service was at a fair price and very efficient.

Of course, when there was a planned power cut in the area it wasn't so easy, but the hotel has some emergency lighting and the shower still worked!

The TV service and hot water was turn on from 8 am. We left everyday around 7 so there was no hot water. How expensive is it to have hot water 24/7.

Former home, authentic experience, loved it! Lots of interesting rooms, art, antiques, great location.

We had the apartment and the bathroom was a bit quirky but still loved it!

I loved everything about this hotel, my stay was spectacular, I enjoyed a great view from my room, also the room, the bed I slept in is more comfortable than my own bed. I was able to get around the city and getting back to my hotel was very easy. Also the staff provided me with a lot of information about places to go and eeo transportation. I really enjoyed everything. It is a place that is definitely worth visiting. The interior of the hotel is like a trip back in time and there is a great story behind it.
