The view from the hotel terrace from my 2nd floor window was absolutely the best I have been to. Directly towards the Old Town's centre so you can enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the terrace and look down towards the busy but very nice and quiet street. And a bonus - sometimes a street musician came to play in the morning or in the evening - you open the window and get a live concert. I felt like in heaven. It was simply wonderful. The room was very spacious, very clean, had a bath also in the room, fridge. The hotel is located exactly in the center of Stresa - Alibus brings you from Terminal 1 bus stop directly to the hotel (it is just behind a small church). Extremely convenient. During the evening it is quiet, not too many tourists staying up for too long - many retired people in the city, who go to bed quite early, I suppose. The lake side panoramic walk is just stunning and just a minute away from the hotel. Service was nice, staff is very friendly and polite.

In the morning garbage trucks come before 7 to collect bottles and stuff. It makes a loud noise and can be heard to the room. The breakfast is quite modest - ham/cheese, few fruits and muesli and some white bread. During my 3 day stay omelette was served for free only one morning. This was slightly disappointing, taking into account that it is not the cheapest hotel. The corridors could use some refreshing retouching, getting a bit old.. And the chemicals used for cleaning in the hotel have a very strong smell.

Location in the old town, close to the beach and the ferry pier. Bright, clean bathroom, good water pressure. Elevator in the building.

The breakfast was completely lacking in vegetables. The egg cooker (self-service) was strange and inconvenient. The TV channels were only in Italian. The room lacked a fridge/minibar and glasses. The pillows were too hard. However, the price of the room was high.

The location was perfect, in the very heart of the town and within 5 mins of walking distance to the waterfront and the boat terminal. The room had a small but lovely balcony overhanging a pedestrian street. The staff at reception was nice and helpful.

We had breakfast included but the buffet offered rather poor choice and some of the staff tended to either ignore us or being unpleasant with us. They were using abundantly a disinfecting chemical on nearby tables while we were still eating, which we understood as being a consequence of the covid crisis but was unpleasant up to the point of making us cough.

Excellent location. Lovely covered out door breakfast area. Effective quiet air conditioning easily adjustable to suit any temperature. Balcony. Lovely spacious room. Welcoming staff., good breakfast. Nice effective shower As a 3 star rated hotel, it does not get any better than this... Excellent value for money

The location of the hotel is perfect, being in the centre of Stresa and a short walk to Lake Maggiore.

The only criticism was the breakfast selection. It was a limited choice and rarely changed each morning.

Classic family-run 3-star hotel with restaurant. Don't let the slightly out-of-date decor fool you; this hotel is in an excellent location, is run by friendly, professional, helpful people, has spotlessly clean rooms (with air conditioning), and an awesome free breakfast. Dinner is also available, we ate here two of three nights and had excellent service and food. In fact, the raviolini with butter and marjoram was one of my favorite meals over ten days. When my mom wasn't feeling well, the waitstaff went out of their way to get her something her traitorous stomach could handle. Ask for any room ending in 15 for great views over the piazza; noise was not a problem, as once your balcony door is closed, the room is peaceful and calm.

We were so well looked after at hotel moderno. The location is amazing, right in the middle of stresa, the staff were so friendly and hardworking. Everyone spoke English and was very patient when I tried to speak Italian! The room was cleaned and bed changed everyday. Our balcony overlooked the main square of stresa and was well worth the extra money as it was a beautiful view and so nice to sit out and relax on. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of food every morning, we ate at the restaurant in the evening as well which was very nice. The hotel really exceeded our expectations.

The WiFi in our room was a bit patchy and sometimes cut out so we had to go to the main hotel lobby to get a better connection.

The location is perfect right in the center of town. 15 mins walk from the station and 1 min walk to the ferries. The hotel is simple but very clean and spacious rooms with a gorgeous balcony over a main square. The staff made our short stay just perfect!! A walk welcome and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. a special thank you to Marina on the front desk!

Super kind staff. Fab location. Air conditioning lift and I had an interior room with a terrace. Highly recommended. Newly renovated. All was perfect.
