It s an old fashioned hotel, still conserving a feeling of the 80s and 90s. But everything is well preserved, working - and very clean. On a top of a hill and in a middle of a park you have a great view on your own balcony and quiet nights; The walk downhill to the city center takes just a view minutes. I didn t have the time to test the swimming pool and the gym - but both were working.

The way back from the center is a bit more tiring - 250 stairsteps to climb up the hill and back to the hotel - this is of course no problem if you are fit. If not: better take a hotel in the center. The mini bar was empty, no shops really around - and the restaurant closing down early. So bring yourself a bottle to the room (at least there is a fridge). If you want to eat in the restaurant make sure that there are no group travellers at the same time. Since the number of people working there is limited you might wait quite a while for your dinner if the restaurant is full (I had to wait 1,5 hours for the food - but at least the drinks were served in time.

lobby, hall, elevators and room were clean; new and clean cloth shower curtain; new and clean sheets and pillowcases; furniture totally fits the room - dated and quaint; windows have great view over the city; can easily walk to town; could refill our water bottle; very quiet

air conditioning unit is behind curtains so you can't close curtains when using; we booked a room for 2 people and got one bath towel; shower head needs to be held to use - not convenient; walk down hill has many steps for those that need to know

Staying here feels like a journey back to the communist era, as the property hasn't been renovated yet. However, it offers decent comfort and good value for the price. The highlight is the access to the swimming pool and sauna area. Breakfast is acceptable but unremarkable. Additionally, the availability of parking is a significant advantage in Cluj-Napoca.

Reaching the hotel at night can be quite an adventure, as the stairs from Somes are poorly lit and in disrepair. The breakfast could also use an update and improvement to better meet guest expectations.

Great location, clean, great breakfast, excellent view of the city. You get to experience the good old days vibe. You also have access to Worldclass which has a nice pool, both dry and steam sauna, gym and you can also join top notch group aerobic classes. Another plus is the large parking lot, you don't need to worry about finding a parking spot for your car which is rare for a city like Cluj. I highly recommend! My favourite hotel in Cluj-Napoca considering all these aspects.

The young lady at reception was lovely. Everything went smoothly. Large lobby with impressive chandeliers, decades old. The location high on the hill, surrounded by trees, away from the city traffic. We were lucky to find several empty parking spots, so that went smoothly. Good size room, bright, with a balcony and a spectacular view of the city, both during the day and especially at night. Traditional furniture, nostalgic, but elegant. We had bathrobes in the bathroom, which came in handy for the pool. We brought our own swim caps, as we were told in advance they were compulsory. We enjoyed the pool in the evening and again in the morning. The water was pleasant, and luckily when we went it was quiet and comfortable to use. As the semi-olympic pool is part of World Class Club, it can get busy with swimming and aqua classes, but the guy at the club reception was helpful in telling us when it would be more quiet to swim, once the classes ended. Breakfast was ok-scrambled and sunny side up eggs, different cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, mixed salad, yogurt, cereals, jams, a few traditional dishes such as zacusca and smoked aubergine salad, apple strudel and chocolate muffins, coffee… and my favorite- fresh watermelon, since it is the season in Romania.

Hard pillows. Duvet too small for two people. AC needs to be checked as pretty inefficient. We opened the balcony door, and that was fine, as the night was cool.

Really nice view from the window, you can see the whole city! Location is great, 10 mins from the city center on foot, so if you come by car you can leave the car in their free parking lot for the rest of the trip. You have free wellness services - pool, sauna, gym... Breakfast is very tasty. Room temperature was just right. The bathroom had a hot tub.

The furniture in the room is from the 90s, not as modern as other hotels I've been to. Even so, the mattresses are new and I slept very confortably.

Excellent location with views of the city. Has on-site restaurant if you do not want to walk the stairs down to the city center. Lots of delivery options if you want food brought to you. Friendly and helpful staff.

This is not a negative for me, but consider that the hotel is on top of a hill. To get to the city center, you either have to walk down some stairs or otherwise call a Bolt or a taxi (or drive, if you do not mind spending your time hunting for parking spots.)

This is a hotel I've always wanted to stay at, the views from my room's balcony were incredible, the room was clean and quiet. The AC was quite and cooled the room perfectly. Wi-Fi was fast. What I liked the most is what others have called outdated, the furniture is real wood and actual has some character. Personally enjoy the daily hike back to the hotel and was an easy way to get some cardio in.

A reasonable place at a reasonable price. Not extravagant, but useful. Has an older feeling, with remnants from the communist era, which gives it a a certain aura. Not bristling with modern gimicks, and that's a positive. Fantastic view over the city, all around. Quiet and peaceful. Unlike many hotels in the city centre, Belvedere has it's own, large parking lot. Extremly important when travelling by car. Can't say more about other amenities because I hadn't used them.

Had a small issue with a socket. Didn't matter much, I used another and informed the front desk for them to solve it.

The hotel is located on a hill, and almost every room offers a nice panorama of the city. An uber ride to the historic center is about 4 euros. The room was cozy and warm. The hotel has a pool (which the guests can use for free) and a parking. The personnel was polite and the breakfast was nice enough.

One aspect that may seem unappealing to others is that the aesthetic is generally outdated. For example, the furniture in the rooms is in a 70 style, there are a lot of wood panels etc. For us, it was not a problem, because we appreciate the historical value of this design.
