I liked that the studio has hardwood flooring. There’s a nice roof lounge space where there was breakfast pastries with tea and coffee. Kitchen had both a fridge and freezer (ice box) as well as electric hob (stove top), oven, microwave, dishwasher and basic kitchen equipment. Having a washer and dryer in the room is very convenient for longer stays. Hotel location is great - very near Bryant Park as well as Times Square. There’s less traffic/noise on the streets than the avenues.

It would be useful to have instructions on using some of the appliances although I’m sure you could call the front desk for assistance if required. The bathroom could do with more shelving space for items too big to fit in the cabinet and a clothes drying rack. The windows don’t block out all noises (occasional sirens, rubbish/trash truck, loud motorbikes etc) but city noises don’t bother me so it’s just something for light sleepers to consider.

We chose aka Times Square due to the size of the room with a kitchenette. We were very happy with the room. The bed was super comfortable, all very clean and good provisions in the kitchen. Location was very convenient just off Times Square and a short distance to subway stations and bus routes. All reception staff were great but a massive shout out for Kevin who really did make you feel a special guest at every interaction. All hotels and venues with customer service need a Kevin. He would be a superb trainer for the rest of the company!!!

Due to being in a built up area the room did not have a view and it was a little dark, but you don't go to New York to stay in your room and the upside was that it was very quiet even though it is steps from Times Square.

wonderful staff, very well sized rooms especially for New York, generally very comfortable. it’s right by Times Square but I didn’t hear the loud noises at night (on top floor). the morning coffee in the common space was very good and a nice touch.

this is probably more on me but I was expecting more of a kitchenette than I had. there was a sink and a fridge but no cutlery, dishes, microwave, kettle. I stayed in one of the penthouses which apparently doesn’t come with a kitchenette and I think the hotel should make that clearer. also the penthouse, while very nice and spacious, was very dark.

Excellent location. We were able to walk to many attractions. Well appointed spotlessly clean apartment, equipped with all the amenities of home. All the staff were exceptional - always a warm, friendly welcome and showing genuine interest in our daily activities. Big shout out to Kevin, who was a joy! - so nice to have uplifting and happy interaction, which made our stay extra special 🤍

There wasn’t too much, but why we dropped a couple of points on rating….thought the lifts were very dark and gloomy…. could be an age thing, as we’re in our mid sixties - but was a bit uncomfortable when we used them. The air conditioning in our bedroom was extremely noisy, which disturbed sleep. No hairdryer in room.

The added light breakfast on the roof terrace each morning was delightful. We were given an upgrade and our room for three was terrific, specially for an 8 night stay. All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Special mention to Ceasar and Kevin on the front desk who went over and above to be incredibly friendly, fun and kind. The day it was pouring all day, the hotel provided umbrellas to everyone- a special touch ❤️ I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again AKA team for a wonderful stay.

Nothing it was all terrific

The room is huge! It's extremely rare for NY. The location is perfect for tourists - it's super close to Times Square, NYPL, Bryant Park, and multiple metro stations in walking proximity. Being in the heart of downtown it's silent in the rooms. Complimentary breakfast is small but pleasant - pastries, coffee, and apples.

No fridge in the room, no kettle.

No more than a 30 second walk from being straight into Times Square, it was a fantastic location! The room was lovely and spacious and we had a huge bed. All staff were friendly and the more relaxed nature of it made it feel a lot more like home, rather than a hotel which we really enjoyed.

We loved the coffee and pastries in the lounge, but they kept running out of both at various times throughout the morning.

Location is exceptional, friendly and helpful staff, nice room. The location is 3-4 blocks distance from at least 4 different subway stations that cover all train lines so you can literally go anywhere.

The daily "resort fee" is a joke considering the price for the room in the first place.

Staff were amazingly friendly. Made the stay comfortable. The location was excellent. So close to Times Square but you could walk and catch subway to almost everywhere. Room size was huge for NY

Gym could have been bigger and soundproof windows

Location was excellent and not too noisy for being so close to Times Square. Service from all reception staff was impeccable and friendly along with great service form the housekeeping staff. Right in the center of the theatre district and actually right between 2-major theaters either side. Good range of restaurants next door and across the road and many others nearby. Only a few-minutes walk to Times Square. Our upgrade to 2-seperate bedrooms for ourselves and our daughter was well worth it and the living space was very comfortable with plenty of room including a good size work desk for my personal computer. Bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen was great to have (very expensive to eat out for all meals). The washer and dryer was also extremely handy to wash/dry clothes conveniently.

Additional ventilation for cooking to prevent setting off smoke alarm. Once we did this the first time we were careful not to create too much smoke while cooking. Having the toilet in the bathroom sometimes meant having to utilize the toilet in the gym area when the apartment bathroom was busy, (not a big issue).
