It was a special place. Full of history in beautiful grounds. Short walk to the cycle trail so you could walk to Dolgellau. Which we did. Our room was so lovely with fantastic views of the valley. The bathroom was pure luxury and it was warm with loads of hot water. Just newly decorated it was very stylish and cosy. The staff couldn’t be anymore welcoming and kind. Tho when we left we had a stow away!! A little robin had gotten into the car as my husband had left the window open whilst packing up. We noticed him before we left the grounds so hopefully he wasn’t lost!! I think he’s quite a character there!!

Nothing. Even the weather was good!!

Had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. Hotel and bedroom was very comfortable and stylish. Very clean and well maintained. Food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Grounds were very picturesque and a great view of the estuary. Would highly recommend a stay.

Dinner was amazing but a bit expensive. Would be nice to have some other options if do not want 3 course a la carte menu. Having said that I would highly recommend the restaurant for a 3 course meal and breakfast!

We stayed in two different rooms, a delux for 2 nights and a classic for an impromptu 3 evening. Both were comfortable with good bathrooms. Dinner was fantastic and breakfast was amazing. Lovely country house, beautiful staircase and sitting rooms. We would stay again but will be more prepared.

Prices for the evening dinner were unknown at the time of booking. It wouldn't have stopped us having dinner but when you find out dinner is more expensive than the room your staying in, well that's a surprise. I sent a list of allergies through prior to arrival and the first day it was dealt with brilliantly but the second days breakfast it was like they had forgotten and I felt very awkward when returning my breakfast for the lady to announce very loudly "she's allergic to the kitchen"

Penmaenuchaf is a truly wonderful hotel. Situated on a hill surrounded by forested mountains, its a truly unique location. The grounds are beautiful and the building itself is a perfect blend of the new and old. The rooms are fitted immaculately with incredible views and comfortable bedding. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Thanks to Christie and the team for making our stay more than we could have wished for!

This hotel was probably up there with one of the best we have ever stayed in . Our room had a balcony with amazing views out over the gardens - I’d quite happily sit for hours ! The hotel itself was full of character and the staff were all lovely, couldn’t do enough for you and we felt they were genuinely happy that we were staying there (unlike some hotel staff) We didn’t have an evening meal but a light lunch and breakfast in the morning which again absolutely faultless! Whoever’s running this hotel is doing an outstanding job.

Excellent

I think that the restaurant, as good as it is, would be better served by lower prices and a more ‘relaxed” options. There are of course a couple of external venues that serve that purpose which you might advertise. Costs preclude enjoying the restaurant every night.

Amazing setting, lovely walks around the property. Very special hotel! The pub close to property serves great meals, a good option if you don't want to do fine dining at hotel. Reception staff were super friendly and attentive!

That the only dining option was fine dining and very expensive. An A la Carte menu would be great.

Cannot speak highly enough of our stay at this beautiful hotel. The hotel itself is stunning, beautifully appointed, fabulous gardens and such a wonderful, scenic location. The room was beautifully appointed and decorated, so comfortable and so many little extra touches and details. I think it had been recently refurbished and it certainly had been done well. It was lovely. All the public rooms were lovely too, very comfortable and relaxing. The food was absolutely outstanding. I honestly think that the dinner we had in the restaurant was the best meal I’ve ever eaten. The flavours in every course, from the canapés to the petit fours, all worked so well together. It really was delicious. Fantastic breakfast too. And finally the staff were brilliant! Everyone that we interacted with was incredibly friendly and so helpful. They just made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Every single one of them made us feel like they were old friends, welcoming us to stay in their beautiful home. Clearly not the cheapest hotel but worth every penny in my opinion. Thank you all, we loved it.

Nothing at all, can't fault it.

The room was fabulous, bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was incredibly spacious. Excellent facilities and gorgeous views.

The food was nice but I think it was too expensive for what it was. Door to the bedroom was difficult to lock & the housekeeping tried to come in whilst we were still in the room.
