The rooms were modern and nicely decorated, lovely walk in shower, plenty of hot water.

It was dog friendly, we don’t have dogs, I don’t like sharing my space with dogs, particularly when dining.

Everything about our stay was excellent. The room was exactly as portrayed (the hotel is on a main road and so there was some road noise if the window was open but this was included in the description). The staff were really friendly the food was great and really good value for money.We ate in the hotel all 3 nights of our stay. There was entertainment on Friday and Saturday both were great but Friday night was exceptional.

Although the hotel was advertised as dog friendly we were not expecting there to be so many dogs . We were not keen on the fact that dogs were allowed in the dining room. On our last morning at breakfast there were eight tables including ours that were occupied and six dogs.

We loved that is was very close to the beach and very close to a co op AND the train station so we didn’t have to walk far, the rooms were nice very clean and we loved that guests had a separate back door if we didn’t want to walk through the pub downstairs. The staff were lovely and very inviting they made sure we had everything we needed and didn’t bother us when we didn’t want to socialise. Overall we loved it and will be returning. There’s not much that we didn’t like, the bathroom door didn’t have a working lock but it wasn’t a main issue for us and the breakfast wasn’t the best but it was satisfactory, we asked for it come come at 9:15 Sunday morning and it came at 9am then on Monday morning it came 15 mins before we liked but we understood that it was ready at that time so they couldn’t help it and again it wasn’t a major issue for us.

The staff were welcoming and very kind. Our first time staying at this hotel and we loved every bit of it. The room was very clean and spacious. Very comfortable bed and pillows. There was a range of teas, coffees and hot chocolate available in the room which I loved as a person who don't drink tea or coffee. Everything we needed was in the room, ranging from towels, soap, shampoo etc. The breakfast had a great range of choice and was delicious. All ordered the day before so in the morning we went down and was seated. Food was brought straight to the table. Again the staff were amazing at breakfast time. They made sure we had everything we needed and even offered to make us both a hot drink. Overall I would highly recommended this hotel a d will definitely be booking here again in the near future. A great pub/B&B. Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly and booked us in swiftly. Even showed us to our room. The lock was a bit fiddly but I got there eventually. Room a little warm, but we had a rare 30 degrees heat. We were very happy there was a fan which actually kept us cool. The room was spacious. The bathroom very updated and luxurious. We had breakfast in bed which arrived at the time specified and given with a happy Chappie. We had an evening meal and it was amazing. Overall it was a great stay and definitely would be returning. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived the welcome was lovely. Took to our room which was gorgeous, so lovely to see our dogs were cater for with towels blankets and treats first time ever on our holiday with the dogs. Breakfast was great you choose what you wanted the night before so everything is cook fresh when you sit down. Dogs was welcomed at all meals even had their own dog station with treats and water. We decided to eat every night the food was excellent and drinks was well priced. Every staff from morning breakfast to cleaners and bar staff was very welcoming. We were so impressed we have booked up for next year.

We were lucky enough to get a room as we did look a couple of weeks ago and they were fully booked. So we must have had a cancellation which was great for us. When this room became available we booked it straight away. However, we didn't realise it was a 4-poster bed superior room. The staff were brilliant, and the breakfast was great, and the best thing it was ready because we booked it for a certain time and the checking out time was 10.30. We had a couple (few )of pints the night before watching the entertainment who was out of this world. Great location and can't wait till our next adventure to the Royal in August.

Fantastic location very near to the beach, shops, restaurants & station. Lovely friendly staff, very welcoming & helpful. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable & stylish. Plenty of space for 3 of us. We travelled there by road bikes & they let us store our bikes in a secure garage. The hotel is near Route 8 national cycling network route. The breakfasts were lovely, lots of choice and healthy and included in the price. Lots of little touches like complimentary bottled water, sweets, biscuits, toiletries. Comfy beds and great shower. Happy hour in the bar when we arrived. There’s bar food available in the bar. We decided to walk and go to a local restaurant so we can’t comment on dinner but the breakfasts were really tasty.

Everything! Amazing stay in a very nice, friendly, welcoming, and clean place. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and made us feel very welcome and at ease. Breakfast had a good and varied choice, which was freshly cooked and tasty. It was delivered to our room bang on the time requested. My other half had a lovely time chatting with the locals on the evening why enjoying a few pints from the bar that has a good choice of beers.Nice clean rooms, fresh linen and drink making facilities were all very nice and covered everything we could of needed. We had 2 dogs with us, and the bowls, towels, blankets, and treats were a wonderful, unexpected addition to make our fur kids feel just as welcome as we did. Our visit was cut short by 2 days due to our elderly dog struggling on his back legs, but the team went above and beyond to help our stay as enjoyable as possible, and we will definitely be back to stay at The Royal again soon

Great location, the room was beautiful and of a very high standard. Gorgeous wooden furniture. Lively atmosphere in the pub, we stayed for Happy Hour and some food, we had steak and ale and it was probably the best we’d ever had with chunky homemade chips and gravy. Great breakfast too 😊

Lovely net curtains but could really do with a roller blind / curtains to block the light, especially in summer. Breakfast was very high quality and made to order but it would be nice to maybe be able help ourselves to cereal, fruit, juice etc - we completely understand though that the current system really minimises food waste.
