Perfect every time

Floor above room 12 very noisey. Excesive noise. Did report it. Did not help as people up alnight walking talking & laughing messing about..

The location was excellent. The room was fine with a lovely window seat looking out on the square. The coffee and tea facility was replenished every day. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The plumbing in the bathroom was ancient and the toilet didn’t flush properly. Had to flush it several times. The shower took forever to become warm. An update wouldn’t go amiss. The second night when we came down for our booked meal we were seated but forgotten round a corner. We were not offered menus and had to ask and after another party had ordered there food who came in after us I had to initiate our order with staff. My pie on that day was over cooked. But having said all that the food in general was very good.

Beautiful location. Comfortable and clean, felt safe even in a different building to the bar.

I am GF, and I chose to eat at the restaurant for the first night out of ease. They didn't have the batter for the fish so I had scampi- a treat as not usually gf, but it was hard, and they chips were definitely oven chips. It was £18 and I thought that was a lot for something that had just been put in the oven. My glass was almost empty when my food came, but I wasn't asked if I wanted any more so after dinner I went to the pub across the road. Can't fault the hotel, just think the restaurant needs work.

Appreciated the effort and care all staff took to make sure our stay was welcoming, comfortable, and suitable for a young family of 5, who also have food allergies. The free upgrade upon arrival to their suite with a whirlpool bath was completely unexpected and the kids enjoyed their bath night very much! After a long day of travelling, the staff were more than happy to offer a hand wherever possible from carrying our bags in, finding us a charging point and car park, and making sure their menu and kitchen were prepared for us to order allergy (and child) friendly food! A big thank you again!

We liked the room, it was a little small, but it had everything that you could need, a variety of tea and coffee, milk, coffee machine (if you know how to use one lol), kettle, ironing board & iron, hairdryer, TV (great if you want to watch the Traitors final!), very comfortable and clean. Great nights sleep. Staff were extremely helpful, the food is fantastic, they have their own chef, so if like me you have allergies/intolerances, they are more than happy to cook something to suit.

Parking is a little limited, though we went in January and didn't have a problem, we're hoping to return in the summer so hopefully we can still get a space.

I arrived a little early, but the staff were amazing and my room was ready by 2pm instead of 3pm. I had a pub sandwich (Ham & Cheese) that arrived beautifully presented with a little dresses salad. Plenty of REAL ham and mature cheddar and the draft ale was perfect. I had an evening meal from a good menu with plenty of choice and ate the calamari with chili mayo followed be the house 'bangers & mash with fresh garden peas and gravy' a basic dish of the next level 'pub-grub'. The price was very reasonable and the quality of the food was excellent. The menu was interesting enough that had I stayed longer, I would have eaten there. I enjoyed a very good breakfast before leaving. All the staff were superb. They were all helpful and attentive (without being 'over-the-top) happy to chat and were engaging, humorous and genuine, qualities that are hard to find 'across-the-board' So THANK YOU ALL for making my brief stay a little bit special!!

Nothing of significance. I could have done with a chair at the desk in my room, and had I stayed longer, should I have asked for and I am certain, being presented with one. I didn't bother the staff with this as it was such a moinor issue for such a short stay . . trhey were busy enough without that!

The room, which was in the annex, the former Madoc Hotel, was great, although it good is probably in need of a deep clean, if I'm honest, just a few bits that have been missed in the daily cleans. Food was good. I had an evening meal, which was very good, but for me, the price was quite high, as too was breakfast, again good quality, but rather expensive. Overall, though, happy with the Golden Fleece, the staff were all extremely friendly, and I would have no hestitation in staying again.

Exceptional breakfast - best we have ever had!! Excellent quality ingredients used. Every staff member we came across was super friendly and welcoming. Cocktails were lovely and we had a good chat with the barman about different cocktails and how he makes them. The self-serve coffee machine wasn't working in the morning but the man working immediately made us the drinks we were wanting, which were both delicious. We didn't eat an evening meal here but what we did see being carried to other tables looked delicious! (Will definitely be eating here in the evening next time!) The suite we stayed in was beautiful! The room had everything we needed including complimentary baileys, espresso machine, hairdryer, ironing board&iron, and so much more. The bath especially was the cherry on top for me with the jacuzzi jets! We really had a wonderful stay and were gutted to be going home. The location was also perfect, such a cute little village with lovely neighbours. Would 1000% recommend The Golden Fleece to friends and family and we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you

The only criticism I have is the bed in the suite we stayed in. It was 2 beds pushed together so there was a crack in the mattresses which was a bit uncomfortable but other than that I cannot fault a single thing.

Clean and comfortable rooms with good room servicing every day. Pub was modern with good beer. Well situated with good parking adjacent to property.

Food was good but not really good value for money as the portions were very small. I paid £22 for salmon which was about 2ins square - only really a child's serving. We ate out after first night. Likewise breakfast was nicely cooked but small. My friend paid £12 for a coffee and an orange juice with a sausage sandwich!

The rooms were very nice and clean. Bed comfortable, tea tray good and coffee machine. Well decorated. The location isn't what I class as Porthmadog it's a 22 mins walk and more like a drive in my opinion. Isolated location.

The mirror was no where near a plug socket for his dryer usage. No spare plug near the bed for phone charging. Shower door didn't open fully as blocked by towel rail. It's was all perfectly clean and comfortable and everything you would need. The noise was a little loud from a near by room and I could here someone snoring loudly and a very loud telly and i didnt have my hearing aids in either,, not great. Apart from that it was perfectly adequate
