Fantastic location, facilities were great, staff very friendly and accommodating, food excellent. Was good being able to walk around the village without the general public.

Such a comfortable stay should you want to spoil yourself. The whole village is interesting and steeped in history. We stayed in the "hotel". Rooms were comfortable & clean. Staff were exceptional. Breakfasts were a delight. Good old-fashioned service. Excellent.

The cost of dinner...!! I guess you get what you pay for.

Stayed in fountains no. 2. Excellent position right next to pool and hotel. Small balcony/ walkway. 3 course Dinner in the hotel was excellent. The breakfast, continental and fully cooked menu choices were fabulous. Pool was warm and accessible on arrival. Complimentary robe and slippers. Room was beautifully furnished. Staff were very professional. Amazing place to walk around at night. Very quiet and peaceful after 5pm when day pass customers had left. Stayed one night which wasn't enough to appreciate the beauty of the estate.

Would like to have chairs outside on the balcony/walkway.

Magical location, and staying at the hotel means you can wander the village after hours. My room was beautiful and comfortable, with a view of the pool and estuary. The toiletries were great, and the room had the best tea selection I’ve seen in a hotel. Breakfast was outstanding, with a mix of buffet and made to order. What really stood out were all the staff, all so helpful and ready to help with anything. I loved getting the buggy down from the castle to the hotel, with a tour along the way.

Would benefit from a real hairdryer in the room.

Firstly, the staff. They were absolutely first-class! from booking-in at reception to the porters, waiters, chefs, security, cafe and shop staff, they were magnificent! Secondly, the location is magical and to see Portmeirion lit up at night, is breathtaking. The food in the Castell Deudraeth and Hotel Portmeirion was wonderful and I would, without any hesitation, recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

Our room in Cliffhouse 1. We didn't have a choice as to where we would be accommodated as this is allocated upon arrival. The decor in our room was a little tired but the room itself was clean. However, the bathroom was less than desirable with very tired tiling, paint which had worn away and mould on the joints and around the bath and sink. We tried our best to not let this detract from our visit but it was difficult to get a sense of cleanliness and well-being when using it.

Such a quaint place to stay. We had a room at the castle and at the village. The castle room was nicer but the village room was neat too. We didn’t know we didn’t have to pay to get into the village before we checked in but easily got our money refunded. Breakfast at the hotel was really nice and we walked twice along the water front enjoying the sea air and the views. Lunch and gelato in the village were both delicious.

We should have stayed 2 nights to really get the experience.

We loved everything, the views, the architecture, the accommodation, the food, the atmosphere. We were especially impressed by the staff, so friendly and efficient. Special mention to lovely, smiling Beth, newbie Aled, who was so efficient, knowledgeable, and smiling, you wouldn't think he'd only worked there for 2 weeks. Jack, who ferried us around with his cheery smile, Karl at the pool, who is so friendly and has a chat with everyone. The two young men who served us dinner in the Castle restaurant, just brilliant. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back

Architecture, gardens, river/sea views. Very quiet and peaceful after Village closed to public. Scenic wood and coastal walks. Lots of wildlife, birdsong and Mountain views. Found a small deserted beach at the end of one of the signposted paths through woods. Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff.

Could hear Guests in room above walking around due to very squeaky floorboards, this led to disturbed sleep. Heard noises from Guests above us during day also, whilst we were relaxing after long walks, and the occasional tuning of some kind of stringed instrument. Nothing too terrible, but could have done without it. Would benefit from some kind of soundproofing in rooms perhaps.

It was just as I had imagined. Beautiful. I loved being in the heart of the village. The staff were excellent and very helpful with my food intolerances.

The floor of my room was not obviously dirty but it was. All the soles of my shoes are black from it. When I had a shower I used the towel to walk to my slippers and the towel was black! There was a used earbud from a previous occupant on the floor. The back of the toilet was dusty. I lost faith in the cleanliness at that point. The bed looked very clean though so I just wore shoes when I walked around.

Dinner was great, and food was of a high standard, along with the service. The tables for 2 are a little close to each other I thought, and it was difficult to have a private conversation without knowing the people next to you could hear every word. Perhaps spreading the tables out, and having some back ground music may help but overall we enjoyed the meal experience and setting. Breakfast I expected local produce to be emphasised a little, and I found the sausages to be a little bland, and not farm shop type standard you would expect of this kind of venue/Hotel, and very expensive/overpriced considering. Not a 20 pound breakfast in my opinion.
