Our breakfast was amazing, it exceeded what we thought we would be served. It was piping hot, appetising and plentiful. There was a good choice of food, we chose the full Welsh breakfast, oh my life, it was superb and filling. There were pots and pots of tea available if you required it. The hosts Beryl and Barry are the loveliest people you could wish to meet, they couldn’t do enough to please. They provided absolutely everything you could wish for and more! The bedroom was spacious and smelled and looked very clean, our bed was very comfortable and overlooked their beautiful garden. There were tea making facilities and biscuits in our room. I am quite phobic about the “loo”, once again, no problems whatsoever, it was sparkling. We had the most fabulous stay and if asked if we “would we return again” YES, in a heartbeat. Thank you Beryl and Barry we arrived as strangers and left feeling like we had made new friends. You are truly amazing and a credit to your profession.

Beautiful Welsh breakfast every morning (with help yourself cereal option). Partner had full Welsh and I had vegan alternative. All was beautifully cooked and soy milk provided for me (advance notice was given of my dietary preference). Nothing was too much, Beryl just wanted us to have a lovely time and enjoy our stay. Beryl was a joy to discuss the day and local events with prior to departing on our adventures. Port Meirion and Black Rock Beach are only a couple of miles walk (or short drive) away. Loads of nice eateries and pubs within walking distance of property. I cannot recommend this BnB highly enough. I am so pleased that we found it and if in the area, I will definitely stay again.
Nothing, it was a perfect few days in Wales. The welcome was warm, room was well stocked (fridge provided) and Aldi/Lidl across the road with Tesco in town. Loads of space in the room (double bed with a single), large bathroom and beautiful Welsh wool blankets were on the beds in addition to duvets to give a wonderful cosy and local feel.

This is the perfect location for taking in Portmeirion Village or the Ffestinog Railway. Quiet & comfortable, it is idea for the traveller that wants to make an early start. The landlady, Beryl is a wonderful hostess & conversationalist and I thoroughly recommend paying the extra for her fried breakfast. It's the little extras that make the difference - a fridge in the room that accomadates a beer or ten (!), the invigorating shower and the additional items for your comfort, such as playing cards, allergy remedies and books.

Wouldnt hesitate to recommend,Beryl and Barry are a credit to their lovely Guest House.A friendly welcome awaits anyone lucky enough to book time at this well placed, and spotlessly clean gem.Beryl is a font of local knowledge and can reel off a plethora of good eating places and local attractions, she cooks a great breakfast and is fast reaching her ambition to cook a perfect poached egg.😂If Porthmadog is on your list to visit, you could do a lot worse than stay at The Gwynfa.

Beryl is a wonderful hostess, breakfast was fabulous, couldn't fault anything there, lots of cereals too if that's what you want. We were in the double and a single bedded room, ensuite, everything you may need, hairdryer, straighteners etc, even a bottle opener and corkscrew provided and a tiny fridge also... Great location only a short stroll to town centre shops and pubs and eateries. Can't fault this place, Beryl is a seasoned hostess and it shows, attention to detail, second to none. Would recommend for that home from home feeling.
Nothing.!

Very friendly atmosphere! Beryl really makes it a home away from home. Lovely breakfast, ample tips for activities and everything you might need in your room is there, be it an umbrella for typical Whelsh weather or pain killers in case you are not feeling well. And everything else. The B&B is nicely located; everything in Porthmadog is just a short walk away. We would always stay there again!

This property is centrally located in Porthmadog. We turned to early do gad trouble finding it. Beryl and Barry could not do enough to help us. The room whilst compact had everything for a great stay. Shower was amazing. The beds were comfortable. Even though it’s on a busy road absolutely no noise. Beryl whipped up a hearty breakfast for us the next day.

Beryl was a fantastic host, very friendly, welcoming and full of local knowledge. Our room was equipped with everything you could think of, she also made our little dog feel very welcome, Beryl really thought of everything to make our stay the most comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
There was nothing to dislike.

We had a lovely stay here. Beryl gave us and our little dog a lovely warm welcome. We had a great room with everything we could have wanted. It was nice to stay somewhere with a personal touch. The breakfasts were lovely. There is a great deal to do in the local area from a tourist’s point of view. Would definitely come and stay here again if we are in the area. Thank you so much!
Nothing - it was great

What a find!! Beryl and Barry are amazing hosts - so friendly, and Beryl is an encyclopaedia for local information of things to do and places to go, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was a good size, spotlessly clean, as was the en suite which had a good-sized walk in shower, and there were even extra little touches like a box with paracetamol, anti-histamines, cold and flu tablets etc in, a wall-mounted bottle opener, wine glasses, dressing gowns and slippers! The breakfast was great, with orange juice, a choice of cereals, full Welsh cooked breakfast (with quality bacon, not the wafer-thin stuff you get in some places) - or you could get a lighter breakfast such as scrambled egg on toast - tea (including the fruity and mint stuff) and coffee, toast and marmalade/jam. The location is great - a short walk to the pubs/restaurants of Porthmadog and to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway. Gwynfa would certainly be our first choice for a place to stay if we went back to Porthmadog.
Can't find fault with anything.
