Such a comfortable stay should you want to spoil yourself. The whole village is interesting and steeped in history. We stayed in the "hotel". Rooms were comfortable & clean. Staff were exceptional. Breakfasts were a delight. Good old-fashioned service. Excellent.
The cost of dinner...!! I guess you get what you pay for.

Architecture, gardens, river/sea views. Very quiet and peaceful after Village closed to public. Scenic wood and coastal walks. Lots of wildlife, birdsong and Mountain views. Found a small deserted beach at the end of one of the signposted paths through woods. Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff.
Could hear Guests in room above walking around due to very squeaky floorboards, this led to disturbed sleep. Heard noises from Guests above us during day also, whilst we were relaxing after long walks, and the occasional tuning of some kind of stringed instrument. Nothing too terrible, but could have done without it. Would benefit from some kind of soundproofing in rooms perhaps.

Dinner was great, and food was of a high standard, along with the service. The tables for 2 are a little close to each other I thought, and it was difficult to have a private conversation without knowing the people next to you could hear every word. Perhaps spreading the tables out, and having some back ground music may help but overall we enjoyed the meal experience and setting. Breakfast I expected local produce to be emphasised a little, and I found the sausages to be a little bland, and not farm shop type standard you would expect of this kind of venue/Hotel, and very expensive/overpriced considering. Not a 20 pound breakfast in my opinion.
Breakfast I expected local produce to be emphasised a little, and I found the sausages to be a little bland, and not farm shop type standard you would expect of this type venue/hotel, which is of a high standard, and very expensive considering. What was cooked, was cooked very well though.

I loved the village, the architecture, truly stunning! Also the woods in the grounds, they are a part of Portmeirion. And it's like part Temperate forest, and part subtropical gardens, absolutely breath-taking in beauty! Full of all sorts of imported trees and Botanicals, amazing huge ferns and Rhododendrons, many many different species. The whole place is so well maintained, so clean! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment I stayed in was comfortable and warm. I noticed a number of bird species in abundance around the village and woods that have disappeared elsewhere, so Portmeirion has an important ecological impact for them. I stayed for two nights and I really didn't want to leave here. It would have been longer if i could afford it! I would definitely return as soon as I can. The only limiting factor for me is the cost. This is an expensive place to stay, certainly. But it was actually worth it as I had an amazing experience here, and there isn't really anything I could fault, the service and maintenance/cleanliness was flawless, so that does justify the expense. I will be back as soon as I can afford to stay again!

We were booked into a village room and it was a lovely location overlooking the plaza.
Confusion over restaurant bookings. When you book you are asked to make restaurant reservations which we did but they were never confirmed. When we arrived they did confirm our restaurant bookings but didn’t tell us which restaurant they were for. We guessed right for dinner and assumed it would then be the same for breakfast but it wasn’t. It was 1 mile away. Which was then too late to switch. Instead of the 3 emails about restaurants before we arrived, better to have at least one of those after arrival to confirm WHERE and when. The booking were for.

The location is great, we enjoyed being in walking distance of Portmeirion village. The breakfast was really nice. The hotel gardens and flowers are beautiful. The bar on an evening did great cocktails.
We didn’t like the shower in the bathroom because you cannot adjust the height or the pressure - we both found the pressure was really harsh. There were also a few hairs and a hygiene seal from a shower gel still in the bath upon arrival - however, after this occasion we found the cleaners to be very efficient and thorough.

The accommodation and the food were excellent and the staff did everything they could to make our stay memorable. We both felt welcome everywhere we visited within the village.
When I booked the short holiday I requested a ground floor and a sea view room dur to arthritis and my wife's wish to see the sea in the morning, this was acknowledged and confirmed by email. I got neither and although the room given us was excellent it was not as requested. I was not happy that Portmeirion withheld £150 of my money from day one until a week after we got home. Their excuse was it was not taken from my account it was just on hold. Sorry that was wrong it was deducted from my balance reducing the money available to me. This is the main reason I will not be returning to stay at this village again.

Room had lovely views, was extremely comfortable and we had really good weather. Good size room too, ample space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner at Castell Deudraeth was delicious and staff were brilliant catering for my allergies - they were ready to point out which items on the menu I should avoid as we sat down. We didn't have to remind them. The buggy was on time to take us up to the Castell with a friendly driver. Breakfast was tasty. We only had one night there but I wish it had been more!
It can't be helped but there are many steps. Lots of easy access places but steep steps to our room. Well worth it for the views. We were warned beforehand and buggy rides were available at any time. So not a problem for us.

Staff were extremely helpful and professional, going over and above to ensure our every whim was satisfied. Invited to enter our 1 Cliff Houce early, at 2 pm, the room with a view was the first of many WOW moments. I had a dental issue which, so I could not open my mouth very wide, and avoided chewing, but I did not miss out on the culnuary experience, every dish at every meal was delicious. Having limited mobility, the buggy service was great. I mislaid my phone, I stopped a buggy and the driver immediately reported that it had been found a the hotel reception (where I had been looking at your wedding book, my wife called me as the taxi was waiting and I had closed the album over the phone!
You had thought of everything, and addressed every conceivable fault or failing. Ahh just one exception, in the hotel dining room toilets there were no coat hooks on the loo doors. No doubt those will be fitted later today! Thank you.

A totally unique experience staying on site when the day trippers went home. Porter service from car park to room location was appreciated. Lovely modern room, coffee machine was fab/fan/iron in room, very comfortable bed and nice toiletries. Beautiful dinner at the hotel on our first evening, and fantastic service.
Not a major problem, but, my husband a bit annoyed that he couldn't find The Prisoner series on the channel that was noted in the information sheet on our second evening, he thought it would run continuously on the channel. Managed to spot it early on the first afternoon, but then it disappeared and the channel was blank during our second nights stay.
